Host was lovely and accommodating. Booking last minute urgent option for 4 adults, 2 children and a dog, not easy to find in Toowoomba, so I was grateful when I saw this was available. However a room has been sectioned off (possibly built in garage) on the side of the house, that is rented separately. The check in details stated that we would be required to share the yard, car port and laundry with the separately rented space; since double checking, the listing does NOT state this. The other guests also had 2 dogs, which I wasn't made aware of, we were given no guideline about who used the yard when, only a comment made about my dog not disturbing the other renters. At the time I thought they were implying she would bark all the time. I personally don't think it is safe to have a shared yard for two different tenants who indicate as both travelling with dogs and then also for children to be present. I have attached a picture of the ceiling in the king bedroom during our stay. The bed in this room has a big permanent dip/hole on one side and the room is the only internal access to the back yard. It was cold during our stay and we were appreciative of the wood heater and provisions to use it, however I think for a holiday rental a basic fire guard and a replacement knob for the flue shut down lever would be appreciated by future travellers. The heater is right next to the entrance door, so easy to bump on way past. I understand get what you pay for, but basic safety :(

I will start with the good things as there were some. The house is a great size, love the toys and books for the kids. The beds were comfortable and the location of the house was great. Great size yard for our dog. On the downside, the house needs a throrough deep clean, the bathroom was quite dirty with a lot of mould, and the shower hadn’t been cleaned at all since the previous people. The oven was also dirty. The lawn looks like it hasn’t been mowed in months with some sections as long as my legs, there was however a small section that had been mowed - a walk way to the clothes line and just before the carport. I was worried about ticks and my dog getting lost in the grass out there. The communication was poor. We were meant to check in at 2.30pm. By this time even after asking the night before, we still had not received the check in details to get in the house and the number on the booking does not work. We sat outside in the car with my 10 month old baby waiting after driving 2 hours to get there. The house has a lot of potential but definitely needs some attention.

Serves a purpose, nothing glamorous

Positives: - Communication was great before the stay- It was safe and in a good location- Relatively clean indoors- The property listing pictures were pretty accurate - maybe not the yard so much or the cot availability.- It was great for pets. We had 2 adult mini dachshunds and they were fine within the back area.- good ventilation and aircon- tv streaming was good - no problem to use- the toys and books were a nice addition and entertainment for young children- garage area was good for 2 vehicles to park under cover.Negatives (could be nit picking but just so you’re aware):- Despite being told the cot is available, there was no cot to be seen - my baby had to sleep on a mattress on the floor with pillows propped around her.- despite good communication before the stay, there was no communication during, support for the missing cot, and even after the stay - The message hasn’t been seen or replied to.- the front yard wasn’t mowed and there was mid shin length high grass and overgrown bushes.- the bins were overflowing with rubbish when we arrived. - parts of the back yard weren’t mowed and the grass was at least knee high- the linen was all mis-matched and quite basic- The lounge was very visibly dirty or old? Not sure but it was brown.- the house is mid renovations it seems. New second bathroom and laundry extensions.- although there were toys, many were very old and worn (the dolls were scarily old), broken, missing pieces, ripped etc
