"The room was spotless but shabby. The hotel are clearly refurbishing the rooms as our friends had a refurbished one. The windows were too fragile to open so the room smelt a bit musty. Food was amazing, staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere."

"Our stay at Victorian House was really nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful and our room was very pleasing. The interiors of the house are beautifully curated and we particularly enjoyed being so well located with parking and the lovely breakfast we were served. The only thing that would improve the stay would be new tvs in the rooms but this is minor. We're very much looking forward to returning, excellent stay and great value for money."

"Perfectly placed in a quiet spot on the edge of Grasmere with stunning views. Lots of walks from the doorsteps of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, took our luggage, took an interest into our stay, couldn’t fault the service. Breakfast set up was good with a range of cooked options included in the breakfast price. Had one meal at the restaurant, nice setting and atmosphere, professional service, food was decent slightly underwhelming however given the reputation of the restaurant....

"Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help."
