Estancia perfecta
En primer lugar hay que decir que los anfitriones son extraordinariamente atentos y simpáticos. Alex y su madre fueron muy amables cada día. Todos los detalles están cuidados, desde la limpieza de las habitaciones hasta la disposición de los trabajadores a proporcionarte consejos sobre la pequeña ciudad. Está muy bien ubicado, pues tan solo en unos minutos estás en el corazón de Leiden y al mismo tiempo tienes diversos servicios a tu alcance.

My daughter and I have just returned from a 3 night break here. The hotel is lovely, the property itself is beautiful, the location is perfect next to the canal, an easy walk from the station and in a quiet part of Leiden but within 5 mins of the centre. Our room on the second floor was stunning, very cosy. The best part of the stay was the staff, always polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Their English was great and they went the extra mile keeping us stocked up with English breakfast tea !

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent - quiet at night but a short walk to the shopping dining and tourist attractions. We stayed in the two bed apartment which was beautiful and spacious with kitchen and laundry facilities as well as a small private roof terrace. There was an issue with a leaking shower which proved difficult to rectify but the staff made every effort to fix this and fairly compensated us for the inconvenience. Overall we loved our stay and would stay here again.

Das Bild stimmt in keiner Weise mit dem effektiven zugeteilten Raum überein. Das Hotel muss zwingend in seinen Beschreibungen darlegen, dass es mit den extremen Treppen für herzkranke und bewegungseingeschränkte Personen ungeeignet ist. Hotels.com sendet unnötig viele Zahlungsaufforderungen zu - unverständlich, sogar für das Hotelpersonal

Sehr geehrter (anonymer?) Gast, Auf der Website von Hotels.com steht, dass wir keinen Lift haben. Unser Hotel verfügt über eine reguläre, niederländische Treppe. Wenn Sie der Rezeption mitteilen, dass Sie damit Schwierigkeiten haben, helfen wir Ihnen natürlich gerne weiter. Schade, dass Sie das nicht getan haben! Weil Sie eine anonyme Bewertung schreiben, können wir leider nichts über dem Zimmer sagen in wo Sie übernachtet haben. Was wir sagen können, ist: dass alle Zimmer auf Hotels.com gut sichtbar sind und wir nur Komplimenten bekommen für die Zimmer. Freundlichen Grüßen HUYS VAN LEYDEN

Beste Paul,Hartelijk dank voor je review. Ons 4 sterren hotel voldoet aan alle eisen die de wet verplicht. Dus de brandveiligheid ter 'vraag' stellen, is niet nodig. Pieni ja sievä hotelli, jossa takapihalla kulman takana sijaitseva autotalli. Pyytämämme Comfort-huone järjestyi ja avautui hiljaiselle takapihalle. Sänky oli erinomainen, parvekkeen oven avulla saimme viilennettyä huoneen käyttämättä ilmastointilaitetta ja tyynykin osoittautui ensivaikutelman jälkeen hyväksi. Aamiainen oli kattava (menusta sai valita lämpimiä vaihtoehtoja lisää) ja nuori henkilökunta avuliasta. Hotellin sijainti oli mielestämme erinomainen (lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä vanhan kaupungin ydinkeskustasta). Ainoa, ja jo alusta asti tiedossamme ollut asia oli, että hotellissa ei ole hissiä, vaan kapeat ja jyrkästi kiertyvät portaat. Joten ei kannata ottaa isoja matkalaukkuja täällä majoitukseen tai sitten tyytyä katutason huoneisiin välttääkseen niissä nousua.

Some rooms not in hotel
This review is only for the ‘loft’ room. The hotel looks to be really charming, but I wouldn’t know because the loft is in an entirely different building, that is a bit short on charm. Room is big, bed linens are great. But furniture is a mix of pieces of mediocre style and condition. Bathroom is clean but not beautiful.

Old hotel in a nice location
Nice hotel with a good location although roadworks in the area made access a bit difficult. Excellent breakfast. Our room was next to the street and quite noisy especially in the morning.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are glad you have stayed with us. Our hotel is over 420 years old and we do not have a lift. This information is indicated at Expedia. We are sorry you did not see this. So some rooms are located on higher floors. If you had indicated (when making the reservation) you have a mobility problem, we could have given you a room on the main floor. Our breakfast is very extended. We have a buffet but also an a la carte menu with 15 dishes. This is all is included in the price of E17,50 pp. We can assure you, that other hotels charge more, for less. Hotel was under renovations, unfit for stay
I've never left a negative review in my life, but I feel like I should warn potential visitors about this hotel. I travel often on account of being a scientist. Upon arrival, I discovered the hotel was undergoing renovations to replace a rotting floor. Workers were yelling and hammering right below me. I was told this will continue until the evening. There was also a strong unpleasant smell in the air. I was not informed in advance of this, before or after booking. The receptionist was friendly and tried to find workarounds, but they had none for the day of checkin (I booked two nights). I offered they cancel my booking and let me find another place and the owner refused. I ultimately just picked up my suitcase and booked another hotel. I find the fact they did not disclose the renovations in advance and did not agree to cancel my stay not only unprofessional, but also immoral. I hope you think twice before booking a stay in this hotel.

This guest did not stay in our hotel! But was able to leave a (negative) review because he had to pay a cancellation fee and did not agree.

The service was on point, all receptionists were very friendly. Our room was very unique and beautiful. If you'd need something to "complain" about, the noice from the streets and aisle might be a nuisance for light-sleepers.
