"Due to another guest's need for no stairs, we were upgraded to a larger unit upstairs in the front. A wonderful large covered deck with hammocks was nice but it was pretty noisy, being a few feet from the main road. Kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The grounds were landscaped and attractive. There was a grocery store a few doors away."

"We stayed for 5 nights in this beautiful house right on the beach. Our children (6,9,11) loved going outside the back door and playing in the water, the sand, and lounging in the hammock. The water is pretty shallow a good ways out and the waves are gently. There are beach toys and snorkel gear available as well as a boat and life jackets.This private beach access is hard to beat. They stayed up late to greet us, woke up early to say good bye. We received great recommendations from them all. We loved our stay. "Really enjoyed my stay at Areca House. I was there solo for a vacation; however, it would be fine too for a couple. Great location to the beach (just across the street), as well as close to restaurants (within walking distance). It was great to enjoy Garifuna places of interest (wonderful food, etc.). Doc responded quickly to my initial inquiries, and Janette provided a helpful introduction to the place after I arrived. Would recommend Areca House!"

"We absolutely loved our stay! We felt it was super cozy and location was great as we had a golf cart. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in and falling asleep to the waves of the sea was pure magic. We loved sitting on the balcony and taking in the sea. It was truly the perfect stay. You absolutely need a car or golf cart. We rented a golf cart and was super easy to put put around. The hotel district is very close, and the village where all the good food is also not too far....

We used chef Aaron for 5 of the 7 dinners and was outstanding. Ellen was there to help with anything including help organizing a special 50th anniversary party. Thanks to all for a memorable stay"
