This was our first time in Telluride and the location was fantastic. Much of Telluride was still limited due to COVID, so that was unfortunate, but I can't imagine being in a more convenient location and I prefer the Mountain Village area vs staying down in the actual town of Telluride.
Highlights and notes that may be helpful:
- Luke is local, so if you need anything he is quick to reply and help. We requested a crock pot, and he got one right to us. Our daughters both have dietary restrictions which made it very hard to eat out (surprisingly, there was not a single dining option in Telluride that can accommodate a gluten allergy) so the well-appointed kitchen and saved us. There is a supermarket next to the complex that was small but had an impressive selection (including gluten free options) so we were able to stock ourselves for the week.
- Parking was included for us, but you don't get a specific spot, and if it is snowing it can be a bit of a mess to figure out. The complex is also built down a relatively steep grade, so getting your car stuck is a real possibility. The complex is good about trying to keep up with plowing, shoveling, and salt/sanding...but you are in the mountains, and if it is winter, a 4 wheel drive option would be extremely beneficial. There is a valet garage option that we did not use, and I am not sure if there is an extra charge for that.
- Our two young daughters slept on the pull out couch which worked fine, but like most converted couch options, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone that weighs more than 100 pounds. I had to use it one night after my daughter tweaked her knee skiing, and there was a bar running under my back and I would not have survived the week if I had to use it every night. For kids, it is fine.
- The access to the ski slope is at the bottom of the complex. This unit is located at the top directly across from the main check in area. This makes getting in and out of the main lobby, the bar/restaurant, and the pool/hot tub extremely convenient. However, it makes getting to and from the slopes a somewhat exhausting and potentially hazardous trek in snow and ice. You can lock up your skis on outdoor racks at the bottom, so you only have to carry them down and back once if you choose that option (there is an indoor lockup at the top as well). I didn't mind the walk, but something to be aware of.
Overall, a great option at a good price point for a family. I would stay here again
