"Beatiful and ancient hotel, I had a perfect stayed"

"This was our third visit to the Fisherman's Cot and the first time for an overnight stay. There is a good selection of food at reasonable prices and very good breakfast. Staff were friendly and polite. We stayed in an annex which was OK but the outside fabric of the building is in need of renovation. Room was fine and clean, although bath panel was heavily water damaged. There is scope to improve decor (pictures on the wall for example) to give a more homely feel"

"Our room was well maintained and we like staying in unique, historic properties. A bath in the nook in front of the window seemed a little strange. We thought a sofa with a coffee table would be a more relaxing option after a day of sightseeing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The state of the beer garden is a shame. "This was a quick overnight stay on the drive back from Cornwall. The off-street parking and affordability were key in our purchase. Our room was clean and spacious, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious."

"Tucked away in beautiful location, 50m from Tarr steps. Lovely, helpful staff and gorgeous food (breakfast &evening meal). Lovely spacious room and amenities. One small suggestion for improvement would be nicer pillows"

"Great stay in a centrally located hotel/pub - staff were excellent and food first-class. Room and the facilities were very good The village was very pleasant too! I would absolutely stay here again."

"Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers"

"We were welcomed by the staff and shown to our room, which was spacious, clean, warm and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality pillows. The shower room was large, clean and modern. It was so reasonably priced, we expected a lot less!"

"Lovely little gem. Breakfast was a nice touch. Pub on site serves food and drink. Owners nice. BUT you should have a car if you are staying here. Getting a taxi can be difficult as it is away from main town. Definitely recommend staying here."

"Excellent attention to detail. The Landlord and his team were extremely friendly, helpful and nothing was too much bother. Free parking was an added bonus."
