Great location with beautiful view!

Property is in a great location on the mountain with a great view of the Gold Coast. My we stayed here while we had a family members wedding at Hamptons estate winery which is a very short drive just up the road.

Extremely Negative Experience - Full Refund Required

An important occasion had been booked and paid for several months in advance at “The Retreat Tamborine Mountain”. The event had been preplanned for months with the preparation of expensive cuisines and beverages, also including significant travel expense for family members arriving from various locations. Unfortunately, the gathering was completely ruined by a failed water system. There was no running water, being absolutely imperative to facilitate a successful function, not to mention guest's incapable of being able to shower. Unacceptable for a five-star holiday retreat. Several calls and messages in an attempt to contact the Property Manager with no prompt response, it was necessary to find an immediate solution on our accord. We arranged for a local water service authority to arrive at the property and perform an onsite inspection at our expense. To no avail as he advised this was a technical issue outside of his expertise. The Property Manager finally returned our calls to relay a series of instructions in order to resolve the absence of running water. Nothing worked. Back and forth calls later, the Proprietor called and informed us that a hydro technician would be onsite to remedy the situation. By the time the problem was resolved, the planned event had passed. Unfortunately, all too little, all too late, all very disappointing. As the evening grew tiresomely long, the water was now running so at least the guest’s could now shower... or so we thought. There was now no hot water. Further calls to the Property Manager, further remedial instructions that guest’s had to perform, we learned how to reestablish the hot water reticulation. Unfortunately, the hot water wouldn’t circulate for a few more hours, at which point guest’s were beginning to retire for the evening and resigned to the fact that hot showers weren’t a reality until the following day – our departure day. Completely unacceptable in the middle of freezing winter. While the Property Manager and Proprietor where both polite and apologetic, unfortunately these failings are entirely unacceptable for a five-star rated holiday retreat. In the spirit of five-star service, compensation will be required in the form of a full refund. The Property manager has advised that the Proprietor will be in touch. There has been no return call. This exercise has caused immeasurable distress to the host. An exorbitant expenditure for an extremely negative experience.

Wedding Stay

Thank you so much for the most beautiful property to stay at as we celebrated our sons wedding nearby. The property is immaculate and the views spectacular. Thanks to Daryl for making the checkin process so simple and for being wonderful with communicating through this time of uncertainty due to the Pandemic. Thank you once again definitely would stay there again even if it was just to getaway for a few days. Thanks again we had a wonderful stay.

Wow

What an amazing property. I booked a week here with a group of mates from Uni, and we had an amazing time. The property itself is stunning, with amazing views and great facilities. We had the fireplace going every night without any fear of the generous supply of wood running out. We made use of the giant backyard, throwing around balls and frisbees. The main living and kitchen area easily accommodated our whole group of 8 for board games and lounging, yet there are plenty of hideaways and seats throughout the property to get away from it all. I’ve rated this 5 stars in every category simply because it deserves it! Big cheers to Darryl who was super friendly upon our arrival, but never intrusive. My one and only disappoint was that we didn’t book for longer… All these reviews are true! What are ya waiting for?

Great Views Good Location

Great position close to most venues walking distance to some. House is tired kitchen etc only issue was the glass in the bedroom for keeping the cold out(arcon didnt warm room) and sun out in the morning manager was excellent good communication we enjoyed it for a short stay and being pet friendly was the best part for us.

Fall in love with this place.

Every time we stay here we fall in love with this place. The setting is beautiful, looking out onto rolling acreage from the balcony, at night the glitter of city lights, and in the morning a glorious panoramic sunrise. Daryl is charming, nothing is too much trouble for him. Everything is provided including lots of firewood. We are looking forward to staying again, including our border collie.

We stayed at this house for our daughter’s wedding. The place was very clean. Daryl was absolutely fabulous with answering all of our questions leading up to our stay and very helpful when we arrived. We got some amazing photos on the wedding day in the beautifully manicured gardens

Annual Reunion of friends

We had an awesome time which included the adventures of lots of rain, introductions to large spiders and the comfort of a fire in March. The large living space works well for a large group and we enjoyed exploring the nearby area. Daryl was helpful and obliging. The view from the view and lookouts were breathtaking. A great please to stay.
