Great house as a base camp to lots of activities all around the extended area!Pet and kid friendly. The house is set up for entertainment, good views, quiet location and relaxation after a busy day! Convenient to lots of essential amenities and a great walkable downtown with shopping, restaurants and breweries!

We love staying in this home. The adults loved the deck and the kids enjoyed the downstairs game room. Everyone looked forward to selecting a board game in the evening. The favorite was America Trivia. The homes was nicely appointed with anything you might need and was spotless. The only drawback was the very narrow road to and from the property. But even that wouldn’t keep us from returning when we are back in the area.

This home is GORGEOUS. So much space to spread out, but perfectly furnished for cozy gatherings. They thought of everything, with all kitchen needs, household needs (they even had scotch tape I forgot to bring to wrap a gift!!) - comfortable beds and pillows, soft towels with more than plenty for everyone. The bedrooms were spread throughout the house abd plenty of bathrooms for our family of 5. We will definitely stay here again.

The property was great and was well stocked with everything you might need so no worries about forgetting something. The location is central to everything in the area. While we were only 2 people there's plenty of space for bigger groups to spread out. Our only issue is the drive up to the property. It's a paved road and if you're in a regular car or SUV you will be fine. However if you're in a large vehicle like our F350 long bed it's not super fun to drive up and down that road. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Great house! Clean and comfortable. Nice mountain view. We were impressed with everything from the primary bedroom to the deck and sun room. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked plus many games and kid items available to use.We will definitely stay here again.

Wedding Weekend

In Sylva for a wedding and Roamers Respite was the perfect house for our stay. The online pics do not do it justice… it was even better! Hosts, Joe and Tina, have checked every box for a 5 star stay. It was clean, and check in/check out process was a breeze. I had a few questions before our visit and they were answered quickly. Beautiful home in a beautiful area. Will definitely stay here if in that area again!

Lovely house near a small town

The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for us all to spread out. We loved all the games they had and being able to play pool. The owners supplied a bunch of little extras from coffee and creamers to toiletries, even hair dryers! There was no having to go out and buy paper products, trash bags and laundry soap either which was nice. The shower was very roomy and we enjoyed the soaking tub too! The view was awesome to see all the stars from the porch while enjoying the gas fire pit. We went into Sylva a few times to enjoy the food and breweries, just check to see what is open each day. We also drove to Highlands Outpost to go snow tubing thanks to the stack of brochures left for us to find things to do! The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had and overall our stay was fantastic! We love to visit new places every trip we take but this is one we would visit again for sure!

Great place for medium family

Needed place to stay for daughter’s graduation that would accommodate at least 6 people. Lots of towels and blankets. Wonderful views from large deck. Pool table, darts & board games provided lots of fun times.

Ideal Location!!

The location of this property is amazing! The peace and quiet of the property to relax and unwind was ideal. Yet, we were centrally located to everything for our daily adventures including tubing, tours, white water rafting, hiking, gem mining, etc. The house provided everything we needed and more. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of towels, nice bedding, a pool table for kids, grill and lots of propane tanks, games, etc. The owners themselves are a reason to book this place. They responded to all our questions and made us feel so comfortable and at ease with our stay.

Mountain Views

We had a great time at our VRBO house. The house was extraordinary. It was clean and well equipped with all essentials and fun games. The basement and the bags sets were my personal favorites. The balcony on the deck is gorgeous. We did find a number of wasps outside the deck but they left us alone thankfully.

Smokey Mountains getaway

I wanted to spend some time in the Smokey Mountains with my grown children and this is the perfect place for that. We enjoyed the Great Smokey Mountain Railway, taking Ducky kayaks down the Nantahala River, horseback riding with Smokemont stables along the Oconaluftee river to a waterfall, and walking part of the Appalachian Trail over the Fontana Dam. On the relaxing days we enjoyed reading on the great deck with Mountain View’s or watching a movie on the screen. And there is pool and darts to play. It’s a great house!

Wonderful get away

Wow what a view, we totally enjoyed the cabin and the area, the cabin is so spacious and comfortable and the view is gorgeous. Hope we get to the area again, we would definitely stay again.

Perfect Getaway...but close to everything

We booked this fabulous home last minute. We were so happy to have such a great place to spend the Memorial Day weekend. Our daughter flew in from DC and had as much fun as we did. Pool table in basement provided lots of laughs. Kitchen nook was perfect for b'fast before days of hiking and sightseeing. Then the perfect place for a Scrabble game in the evening. Large porch was used to watch sun come up, go down and enjoy the quiet. Didn't get to use the telescope that the owner's provided due to cloudy nights. But didn't really need with the powerful binoculars that were also provided. Nice having a grill on the porch - which we used several times for dinner cooking. Home was immaculate, kitchen fully stocked and lots of toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, Kleenex and all the little amenities that made the stay so perfect. Even though we were surrounded by quiet, home was close to Sylva, casino and Great Smoky Mtn National Park. Perfect location. Perfect accommodation. Perfect get away.

Lives Up to Its Name

Roamer’s Respite is situated up a narrow paved road upon which each property is fairly secluded. You’re in a forest as you ascend the somewhat steep, winding road. When you arrive, there is plenty of parking. Check in is a key code you’re given with your registration confirmation, and was easy to access. The home is comfortable and has both aspects of a quiet retreat setting in its cozy and well decorated spaces as well opportunities for fun with plenty of games, including a pool table and dart board. The home had everything we needed to help make our weekend getaway retreat/reset a success. We love visiting the area, and Roamer’s Retreat is perfectly situated near scenic drives, cool towns (including our favorite BBQ place), and the Great Smoky Mountains.
