The perfect getaway
Beautiful property inside and out, clean and well maintained, stocked up kitchen, lots of extra amenities, in a calm neighborhood, and just a short 10-15 minute drive to activities. The indoor pool was a huge bonus. Matti, the manager was very nice and accommodating. Definitely plan to come back. Thank you Matti!

Just a little disappointed
I stayed here in 2014 with extended family and was excited to stay again this year when we found it available. the place was exactly as I remembered, beautiful and spacious - loved the pool and hottub, but there were some details that left a lot to be desired. there is some wear and tear throughout the house that needs attention. also we had planned to have friends over to watch the Super Bowl. THANKFULLY we cancelled because we were not feeling well, as we would have been very embarrassed how the tv kept freezing and glitching and the few of us there ended up watching in one of the bedrooms. Also, one of the two beds in the upstairs corner rooms was missing, but luckily no one extra ended up staying. So, overall - a beautiful home that needs some TLC. The host was great at communicating with us, and one of the things she couldn't possibly control is the noise level in the area. We didnt mind the cute family right next door, however someone in the area was playing music so loud at 2 am that we thought they were on our porch or in the hottub. it ended up being across the way and with no noise ordinance, there was nothing that could be done about it. I personally prefer a more private secluded place when paying so much for a rental Just my 2 cents.

House needs a deep cleaning
This house needs a thorough deep cleaning, especially the kitchen area. The house layout was not as expected, we thought from the pics that there was a family room below the main level but it was all on the main level. The bedroom on the main floor was really not a bedroom, it was an extension off the family room with a sliding room divider. The host was very accessible and replied timely to some issues we had with the pool.

Thanks for your feedback, Sheryl. I am sorry that you didn't have a better perception of the layout of the property. The property advertises 5 bedrooms, the room with the sliding door can actually be used as a 6th bedroom.

Fam Reunion
The property had a great location, however, both inside and outside need some TLC, The living area was great and and the side porch was great for relaxing. We had 6 children over the age of 4 so there were no appropriate glasses and they didn’t understandably want to use toddler cups. We had exactly 12 plates so it was a constant dishwashing.

Perfect for the family!
Upon arrival our family was just blown away by the home! The kitchen was perfect for making our family of 12 meals. There was plenty of space for each of us to have our own bedroom and bathroom. The outdoor patio and deck were lovely to have coffee on and have a fire in the evening. Our children so enjoyed the games in the garage, the mini golf next door, and the quietness of the neighborhood so they could ride their bikes to their hearts delight! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of utensils and dishes and appliances. If you think you need to bring it - think again they have it! The state park was a quick drive down the road and there was a lovely self serve firewood stand so we could stick for the evening. The pool was an added plus for us to swim around in the evenings! The alarm for the pool was added saftey and peace of mind for our kids who could have swam all night. The hot tub is placed nicely on the back patio but was not incredibly clean and smelled a little funky but still enjoyable. Look no further, this is the perfect rental for your family!

Great Family Time
The house was nice and spacious. Great location. Everyday we went for an enjoyable walk. The amenities were family friendly. I would stay there again. The downside-the cleaning people did not do a good job. But the owner was very responsive.

We understand your frustration but we can’t fight Mother Nature. One of the hardest and most disastrous storms hit the county the night before their arrival which led to power outage and water line brokerage. According to the emergency services, half the county was out of power for days. We had power restored within hours and we refunded 50%. It's unfortunate that you still felt not everything in our power was not done.

perfect place for families!
Our group of 7 (4 adults, two toddlers and an infant) had an awesome time at this place! the house was exactly as advertised with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The pool was clean and a great temp and the kids didn’t want to get out. Hot tub was so nice to enjoy after the kids had gone down for the night. Easy drive to get to Wisp, restaurants, etc. Would stay here again and bring a few more friends or family!

The house was exactly as it appears on the Vrbo website.
Everything was fine except the room where the pool was located was like a Sana very uncomfortable and way to hot to enjoy. The water in the pool was also hot not able to enjoy the swimming pool. Very disappointed the pool was the primary reason we rented this property. We only went in the pool for a total of 1 hour the entire time there. The hot tub water was not as hot as the pool water. We did enjoy the hot tub.

Great location for friends and family of all ages that are active.
We really enjoyed staying here. We had kids that ranged from 5-13 and it was perfect. The pool was great, the putt putt and tennis/pickle ball courts were close. Felt very safe to let the kids run around while we could be at the house and watch over them. It was fun because some of us grew up playing tennis and we had a tennis clinic going. Lots of open space. We had a whiffle ball home run derby going between kids and adults. For the golfers, hole 1 was close for a very nice 9 hole par 3 course. We did have some issues with the hot tub, but someone came over that day and fixed it and it was all good for that night. The only thing that was missing was a basketball hoop. We love our sports. We would definitely recommend and come back.

Not what we expected
The property was not waterfront. No access to the lake from this house. Golfing was great. Would have loved being able to see the lake. Had to drive to be able to see it. Think the pool and hot tub should have been checked midweek to see it the chemicals were good.

Swanton MD Residence
We stayed at this home in Swanton, Maryland for a get together for a group of late 30's guys who live all over the country. Deep Creek/Swanton was a logistical choice and we were all pleased with making it. The home was clean and as advertised by the pictures. There are seven beds and one futon in one of the bedrooms, so there was some bunking up, but the home is large enough, and with enough bathrooms, that it never felt like we were on top of one-another. The home is stocked with glassware, plates and cutlery. The grill is hooked up to a gas line and served its purpose wonderfully. The home boasts a very nice shaded deck with seating, and a second stone patio facing a pond to the rear of the home. When we arrived on Friday at 4pm, the pool was out of commission, as that room apparently has a second AC unit and the compressor may have shut off. I spoke with the Manager Donna, who was wonderfully helpful, and she sent their maintenance manager Jeremy over who was able to sort out the problem. Didn't really end up using the pool much, but I think that those who did thought it was a fantastic perk. Donna and Jeremy deserve major credit, as they spent their Friday afternoon making sure this was corrected for us and it was much appreciated. The amenities at this location were great. The community is beautiful, neighbors friendly (little kids even selling lemonade) and the golf course was an asset to this group. Everyone on the course was patient and willing to chat us up. Didn't end up using any of the kayaks, putt-putt or other amenities, but can say they are there for you if you would like. This location was great for a group of guys or your family. The home is not far from what I am guessing is the "town" of Deep Creek. We rented a bus to come get us on our one night out and I think it was at most a ten minute drive. Some of the guys had stated they had stayed farther away from the town in the past and it was not as ideal. All together we had a great trip that was made possible by the great team of Matti, Donna and Jeremy. I thank them and encourage you to consider this location as a stay for you and your family/friends when visiting Western, MD.

The community is very nice with lots of activities, something for everyone! There was an issue with the pool alarm when we arrived. The owner was very responsive. An alarm company arrived quickly and resolved the problem.

Our cleaning crew is as meticulous and professional as it can be. They bleach and disinfect everything. The stool legs have been tightened. There may have been some water stains in the bathroom and some dust due to a gap between cleans. We were flexible with the guests' change of reservation date and did not get any calls from them during their stay.

Guys golf trip
Overall good experience. Property worked well for us and accommodated our group nicely. Location to the par 3 course on site was a blast. House shows wear consistent with a rental and could use some updating regarding kitchen and outdoor chairs. That being said it did everything we needed it to do and a lot of great memories were made. Would come back again!

2021 Thanksgiving
Our family had the best time at this home for Thanksgiving! There is plenty of room for 12 - 14 people. The kids loved the pool and all of the exciting games in the garage. We had a wonderful time. Sorry about the misunderstanding but it clearly states that there is no dock. The picture is from the lake access area. There was an accidental lag in the refuse service which was a one time mishap. As a very successful rental property with numerous amenities and frequent reservations, we try our best to keep up with the maintenance. Thank you for the feedback!

Great location for kids!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The tennis courts and mini golf was directly adjacent to the property which was a huge bonus for us- we could sit on the deck and watch our tween kids play tennis/golf from there. The house had a few minor maintenance issues but was overall very clean and in good condition. We had to drive to a community parking lot to access the lake and the lake was not visible from the property, which was not our expectation, but ended up being fine. The indoor pool seemed clean and well maintained. Thanks for a fun vacation!

Wonderful time at great house
We had a great time. Very wonderful house with great pool that out kid loved. Sadly a lot of local activities were closed the week we went so plan for that, but we look forward to coming back for the ropes course and snow tubing in the area one day. Did enjoy some hikes, seeing the lake, and putt putt - all of which are right near house. A great stay, highly recommend.

Guys Getaway
I booked this property for myself, a few friends, and our dads as a guys getaway trip. COVID had put a damper on our previous plans so we decided to book a house where we could hang out and not worry about going out. The house was great for us and was perfect to hang in the pool, playing darts in the garage, and playing pool in the living room. The whole house surround sound was a great bonus we did not know about! Thanks for the great house Matti!

Very Nice Home!
This home was very nice & comfortable for our family trip. The two master bedrooms were really large and great spaces. All the bathrooms were very nice and updated. It was great that there was an extra refrigerator in the garage for additional food storage. Loved the hot tub! The indoor pool was great although the pool liner needed some attention and did not look appealing, but it was nice that there was a note explaining why it was discolored and that it wasn't dirty. The kitchen was fully equipped and well stocked with necessary items. The outdoor gas grill was very convenient and a nice addition. Overall my family was very pleased with the accommodations, location, and the ambiance.

Place was great but can use updated chairs and better house cleaners. Just little more TLC and this can be one of the best places for a families. Golf fishing mini golfing was great things to due.

An honest review
Our recent stay at this house was extremely disappointing as the house is in desperate need of a deep clean and normal home maintenance. I hesitated on writing this review, but I do feel like it is necessary to be honest. The layout of the house is wonderful for large families, as it does have plenty of bedrooms and hangout areas both in and outside of the house. The views from every room are beautiful and it feels very private even when outside. However, the house itself is in need of a lot of maintenance. While I completely understand that this is a rental home and wear and tear is to be expected, I do not expect to rent a place that is filthy. There are major signs that this house has not been cleaned in a very long time with the exception of the weekly wipe down in between rentals. There are cobwebs hanging from the ceilings in multiple rooms. The air duct vents are absolutely filthy with not only dust but also brown grime. The carpets are severely worn and stained. (caused socks to have black stains on the bottoms) The oven was not cleaned prior to our arrival (or in a while) and had food stuck on it. The toaster oven knobs were not cleaned and were greasy. The kitchen floors were sticky. The grill was disgusting. The pool table was full of crumbs and has holes in the felt (again, I understand it is a rental but it was disappointing). Stains on the walls in the bathroom. The outside deck furniture is definitely on its last legs. The patio where the hot tub is located appears to show signs of a potential cave in soon. The siding on the house is in need of a power wash. This home is not being maintained and it shows in all that I have listed. Every rental will have its issues and will never be like your own home, but there was just far too many concerns with this house. If the owner would invest back into the house, then it would be a great house in a great location with amazing views.

Respectfully, I have to say that almost ALL of the comments made by this guest is incorrect/exaggerated. Ironically, we, the owners were at the house the day of her check in, checking on the job of the cleaning service. Their clean was exceptionally professional and first rated. In addition, we purchased a brand new grill that very same day and installed it. " A disgusting grill" is an outright lie. Not understanding the extent of the outrage of this guest, I have to conclude that it must have been out of spite. The day she left, the cleaning crew reported a broken sofa bed which I reported to the damage protection plan. She denied the damage and the case was immediately dropped. Apparently, she was so offended that she was propelled to write such a dishonest review.

Amazing Location and neighborhood
This is our second time staying at this home and we again had a wonderful time. The location in this awesome neighborhood can’t be beat, and the amenities were used daily. Our only complaint is things have gotten worn down since our last stay, (two years ago) but not necessarily kept up. The inside was great and for the most part kept nice, but the beds are not comfortable and it wouldn’t hurt to grab a ladder and get the cob webs from the cathedral ceilings. The exterior, in particular the side porch, was where it got gross... there was some nastiness all over the siding and the table and chairs needed some maintenance. The home has such great potential but screams for attention. Overall, I would def stay in the neighborhood again, and if you are easy going and able to focus on the positives, I would suggest this home. My hope would be the seller spends a weekend putting some love back into such a wonderful property.

Indoor pool & great development, perfect for large groups!
Large home with open floor plan, indoor pool and outdoor hot tub. Waterfront Greens where home is located has a lot of activities for the summer: a catch & release pond, mini golf and par 3 golf, tennis courts, and access to Deep Creek Lake. During winter when these activities are not available, the indoor pool is great! Almost every room has it's own full bathroom which is a very nice feature. The largest bedroom is the second floor King bed master which also has a sofa bed, the next largest is the first floor Queen bed master which has a jacuzzi tub (we didn't try it, cracks in outside casing). The other bedroom on the first floor has a day bed which can be converted to a King only has an accordion folding door separating it from the family room, so not great sound proofing. The room with 2 twin beds is fine for kids, issue is the skylight doesn't have a shade so whoever is in that room will be woken by the sun. The last 2 rooms share a good sized bathroom. The futon in the "loft" area is in the open and would be hard to have someone sleep because there is no privacy. The many windows allow a lot of natural light, in the summer this may make the house hot. The kids enjoyed the pool table which is in the family room as there is no basement. The 2 car garage was convenient to keep our cars warm and has a full size refrigerator. Plenty of towels provided as well as bedding for the sofa beds, there is also a working washer / dryer. Location is great, about 5 minutes to Deep Creek State park, 8 minutes to Arrowhead market / gas station, 14 minutes to Shop and Save, 17 minutes to Wisp Resort. There are other homes in this development with indoor pools which look more updated on line but this was the most affordable and was fine. The code sent to us didn't work but the management company answered our phone call and gave us a new code which did. They were very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Few suggestions to make our great stay even better: more silverware / glasses / dishes, dining room table only sat 8 for home listed for 14, 3 chairs at peninsula - would be nice to have more seating because all cannot eat together, Due to high ceilings lighting was poor in kitchen and under cabinet lighting didn't work, ice maker in freezer wasn't working, would have been helpful to have instructions for stereo / TV, inside pool alarm button didn't always work. Would definitely rent this property again!

Bright Open spaces - Big kitchen - Secluded bedrooms
Overall we had a great time in this place. Everyone loved the pool which got used more than once a day. It was very cold the weekend we went - -1 was the temp on one day - so using the outdoor hot tub wasn't really something we should have done, but we did on most days. We mostly stayed inside the house, which was our plan from the beginning, as we were just there to relax and have fun. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and pots. The dishwasher however didn't seem to work properly. We had to wash at least 2x even with a pre-wash and scrub in the sink. TV is a bit high on the wall and out dated and there wasnt enough space for all 11 of us to really sit down in the living room. The speaker system worked in the house, but not by the pool. The pool alarm was a bit annoying. The button on the way outside to the back patio didn't work. The grill was disgusting. It appeared to have not been cleaned in some time - there were some insect eggs inside and one of the pilot lights wouldn't start with all the debris in the bottom. We scrubbed it in the sink so that we could use it. It finally was able to light after we did that. The fireplace was very nice and clean. The DEN room is just off the living room. If you are a light sleeper i do not recommend this being your room. You can hear everything from the living area as it has no doors, just this accordion 'wall' that locks. Which cannot be open by the outside without a key so I do not recommend for kids either. The bathroom for this room is the downstairs bathroom. It has a shower but you have to enter the living space to go in and out of it. not too private. The house was very drafty downstairs, while upstairs remained hot. We lost heating in the downstairs level due to some HVAC issues. Had to call the company twice to come out in the Icy rain and snow - he was very friendly and fixed it with a work around on the second trip. The lights in the kitchen flickered a bit - even after screwing the light bulbs in a bit more. There are a lot of switches, I recommend labeling them. Bedrooms upstairs provided a lot of privacy and seclusion. Overall my friends and I had a wonderful time. I would consider booking this house again, but maybe in the spring or summer. The community seemed nice and i wished it hadn't been so cold I would have walked around the community - but not in a foot or two of snow. Owners were very responsive and nice about all the issues we had while we were there.

We had a wonderful time at Clubhouse Chalet!
This is the second year in a row we stayed at this house. It is the perfect location for those with kids. The mini golf and tennis courts are right off the covered porch. We even bought glow golf balls and glow bracelets to mini golf at night! The house already has an indoor pool and fire pit. Regular golf is just a short walk around the corner. The house is spacious and well stocked. The second refrigerator in the garage is great to store the drinks. This house has it all! We hope to be back again!! My only recommendation is either blinds in the living room or an awning over the deck to block out the afternoon/evening sun.

Hard to beat!
Our extended family had a wonderful week here! We used every single one of the amenities, every single day! The mini golf and tennis courts are directly next door and you can watch from the side porch. The avid golfers in the group were very impressed with the Par3 course that started just a few doors down, and the young fisherman in the group loved how quickly they could catch fish in the pond located just up the street. My recommendation to another group coming in, is book it and get excited because this house is great, but do yourself a favor and schedule a mid week cleaning and linen change. There is carpet upstairs and without a vacuum, it was hard to clean, and while there is a washer and dryer, you will be doing laundry every day for your own stuff: beach towels, etc, and you don't want to be doing bath towels and sheets.

Wonderful time!
Second time I stayed here. My first visit was during the winter for a snowboarding trip at Wisp and we had a great time hanging out here. This time I wanted to see what it was like in the Spring. This area is beautiful during this time of year. The first thing the kids did was jump into the pool (be sure to push the button each time you enter or exit the pool area or the alarm will go off!) The hot tub was the adult's favorite, while the kid's made s'mores in the firepit. The pool table was also a plus. Tennis courts and mini golf conveniently right next to the property so kids could play within view while we barbecued from the deck. We didn't even make it to visit the actual Deep Creek Lake we mainly wanted to stay in and enjoy the house and neighborhood. We did manage to venture out and go hiking at Swallow Falls state park (about 15 minute drive) and that had some beautiful views of waterfalls. Matti the owner was so patient and easy to work with. Can't wait to visit again! This is the only house we want to stay at when visiting Deep Creek!

Relaxing Getaway
Spent one week in this wonderful home for a quiet and peaceful getaway late January. The home is warm, cozy and clean. We did not have lake view, but were told that the lake was at a very low point. This would be a quieter place to stay in season, but still close enough to restaurants and area attractions.

Great house for the money.
The house was great. Pool was good and the layout was perfect for 3 families with 4 kids. Everyone could hang out while watching the kids in the pool. We are a very laid back group. That being said, the house could use a little maintenance and just overall freshening. Had a great time though! Thank you!

Comfortable
With five grandchildren 6 and under, it was nice to have swimming, golf and tennis nearby. Someone was always taking a nap, but the adults could slip out to do something and come right back. The little ones enjoyed the pool most of all. Thank you.

Loved the house but had to make a few minor requests...
The house was perfect for our needs and looked exactly as advertised. Our family enjoyed the layout and the extra sleeping spaces. We used the indoor pool a great deal and it was nice that we could take a dip rain or shine. The kitchen was spacious enough and all utensils, pots and pans were adequate. Loved the location of the house and the fact that the covered porch faced the tennis court and mini golf which allowed our group to socialize freely. We especially appreciated the guest bath on the first floor. The first floor bedroom had a private bathroom. The house had three private baths and five bedrooms which was really convenient. There was also a nice space on the first floor where the daybed is located that could be used as a private bedroom complete with a lock. The space could also be used as a sitting area if necessary. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue as we had to call and request a cleaning of the grill and weeding of the back patio. There was a bush growing into the pool area. We made a call and someone came out immediately and fixed the problem. By the time we got back from shopping, the grill had been cleaned and the weed removed. However, it would have been nice had they weeded the entire patio instead of just removing the bush. We would definitely rent this house again as it is very spacious and very close to the main gate of the subdivision. Very easy to find and accessible from the road. It is also easy to get to the lake from the house. Lastly, the house is just 7 minutes to Deep Creek State Park. Our family spent a lot of time there enjoying kayaking, boating, jet skiing and other water sports. Additionally, there is a fishing pond on the grounds near the golf course

Great Neighborhood, Large Open House, Nice Owner
Stayed here on a rare April weekend that received 5-6in of snow. Our groups' activities (rafting and paintball) were all cancelled so we spent most of our time in and around the house. Large open layout was nice so that everyone could be together in one place. Matti was able to make a last minute change to our reservation and did so efficiently. It was a pleasure renting from him. The property is in good condition. As some others have reviewed, there could be some small item maintenance done on the house, in particular with some of the amenities like (fireplace tools, pool ques etc.), but the house is clean and in good working shape. For a weekend with co-workers and friends I think it absolutely met our expectations. Thanks.

Awesome experience!
Our family of 14 had a great time at the Clubhouse Chalet over the Christmas holiday (first time we've done a vacation/getaway for Christmas with the whole family). The drive time was perfect for those of us coming from MI (6.5 hours) and not too bad for family coming from the Baltimore area of MD (3 hours). The home was spotless--very clean, inviting and cozy. Matti was very responsive, helpful and easy to work with. The heated indoor pool was awesome--kids went swimming 2-3 times a day! The kitchen is well stocked, updated and was very convenient for meals. The only cons were not that big a deal: (1) the seating in the great room isn't very comfortable. The sofa is modular and low profile, so it was difficult for older people to sit down and get up with ease since the furniture also moves; (2) the oven was difficult to use. We could not get the heat to go over 392, which made baking a bit of a challenge; (3) the seating in the dining room could use some cushions--again for more comfort since the great room furniture isn't very comfy; and (4) lastly, when we arrived, the hot tub had been inspected but on the 2nd day Mike (property manager) came back while 2 people were in the hot tub and told them to get out because the chlorine/water levels were low, so that was a bit awkward. Other than those few things, everything was great. We enjoyed the peace and quiet in the community and in the house. Linen service was great, washer/dryer was very convenient. We would stay here again. Thank you, Matti for helping us make a memorable Christmas experience for our family! F. Thomas

Dear Felicia, I am glad you enjoyed your time and thank you for such a great feedback! The furniture has just been replaced with new more comfortable ones. The oven has been maintained. As for the hot tub maintenance, the guys usually walk in (a county rule) to maintain and inspect. Looking forward to seeing you again! Matti
