"Very good standard of accommodation. Very comfortable beds, bright and airy lounge area with high windows. Very rural location. Quiet but no pubs/restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend for a large group (8 adults). "

"We had a wonderful few days staying in The Old Smiddy cottage. Fiona and David were wonderful hosts, very attentive whilst being happy to give us our space. The cottage itself was very comfortable, all the rooms were a nice size, very clean and well presented. The garden was lovely and we particularly enjoyed watching the wildlife in the burn from the garden!The area is fantastic for enjoying nature and family activities.We would definitely recommend staying here for a couple or small family."

"What a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. On an arrival it was lovely to have a little welcome package and to find the cottage spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed. No need to have brought wash liquid, toilet rolls etc. The surrounding area is fantastic and is convenient for local amenities.Wish we could have stayed longer. "

"Property is very well kept and comfortable. Met Rosie and Dave as soon as we arrived and they gave us a quick tour of the property. The road leading in is a farm track but is very clearly identified and Rosie made sure to provide excellent instructions, as long as you stick to one side or the other it is easy to avoid bottoming the vehicle. "Spacious and clean country home. Plenty of room for our whole family. The Walking trails were nice with a grocery store nearby but don't miss out on a delicious meal at The Clachan."

"What an amazing property! Obviously, the views are incredible and the photographs in the listing, as good as they are, really don’t do it justice. The property is well distanced from other properties and feels private and well equipped for cooking at home. There are plenty of places to visit nearby but after touring all of both the east and west coast the best view is probably from the Heron cottage. "Barn was lovely. Very clean had everything we needed. Beds were super comfy. Hosts were lovely and provided amazing welcome back for us. Location was lovely and peaceful. Lots DVD books games and blankets in the barn. Had lovely fire although weather was mild so we didnt need to use. Would highly recommend"
