This is a 136 year old house which has been up dated.Toaster old, broken.. Frying pan warped. Lots of dishes. Kitchen update good. Master bath update nice!The mattresses in the front bedroom are in dire need of replacement. Outdoor cushions for chairs dirty.Fire table did not work.Even though freeway noise, and train noise were mentioned, it was very loud. Ear plugs recommend for sleeping. One ply toilet paper was not appreciated.Great landscaping! Really nice back yard!

House had a great beach vibe, beautiful gardens and was the perfect size for our group of 4 adults. It was one of the best equipped VRBO kitchens we have had, making it easy to cook several meals. The high end BBQ and cozy fire pit were much appreciated.

The view is correct and lovely. The house is an older beach cottage w updated baths and kitchen. Living room set up is comfortable. Indoor Fireplace is not offered to guests. Heat but no air conditioning so it did get a little warm at night ceiling fans did help. Loved the back sitting area tucked into the foliage. The front sitting area looks like it would be nice to sit but didnt take advantage of it due to the traffic noise of the 101. I had no trouble sleeping at night but have lived other places with traffic noise. Recommend sound machine and ear plugs. Having the 101 near made it easy to commute both north and south. But you need to be aware that and the trains are near the house.

Loved this little cozy cottage by the sea. Great location and quick walk to Red Kettle Coffee every morning!!! Only suggestion is access to the home. We followed all instructions to a T. We struggled and had to call Casago for help. They were quick and helpful. Added words to your instructions could be Turn door knob to the left and door pushes open. We will come back!

This was one of the sweetest, comfy places I’ve stayed in to date. The beds were so comfortable… and it has everything you need to head to the beach. Having said that… you have to know that it is located literally across the street from the freeway and on an Amtrak line. If you are a light sleeper or have an aversion to traffic noise, this might not be the place for you. I was able to white out the noise at night with a fan and I got used to the background noise while sitting in the backyard. The plus’s definitely outweigh the noise aspect, however. Summerland is an adorable village with so much within walking distance. The produce stand is amazing (and is a wonderful nonprofit feeding hungry families in the area)!! I would definitely stay there again.

The house and property are very lovely and charming. Enjoyed our stay. Had some issues with the keyless entry, reported it, but it never got resolved. There is road noise, but all in all great stay. Lovely view of the ocean, outside landscape us beautiful. House decor is very cute and comfortable.

We had a great stay at this adorable property! Check-in was a breeze, and everything was exactly as described. The location was perfect—close to everything we needed. The home was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. Traffic from the freeway is a bit loud but other than that wonderful! We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient getaway!

Just lovely!! We had a fabulous stay over a wedding week. The house was just as described, and was very comfortable for our group of 5. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces, and the road noise did not bother us. The beach towels and chairs were also a great addition. We loved being able to walk down the street for coffee or a meal.

Lilie by the Sea was a fantastic stay!

We stayed for 4 days and it is a perfect getaway! Clean, everything you could want is available in the kitchen, beds we comfortable and even a bonus outdoor shower which we used after coming back from the beach! Close to restaurants and shops.Just a perfect choice!

Girlfriends Getaway

The house is charming and well maintained. We enjoyed walking through Summerland and checking out the shops. Our two complaints are very low hot water pressure in the smaller bathroom sink and not being able to run the dishwasher successfully. Written instructions on how it works would be very helpful.

Great Stay!

We loved our 3-day stay in this charming, clean, comfortable little cottage. The layout, location and amenities were perfect for our family of four, including two college-age kids. Summerland is a cute town with a number of upscale shops, and a few restaurants, and it’s an easy drive to surfing spots, Montecito and Santa Barbara. The only drawback - as mentioned by other reviewers - is the location on a frontage road adjacent to 101 - so there is definitely significant highway noise. We had one minor maintenance issue and the property manager came out to fix it right away, even on a Saturday. Overall, it was a great base for getting out and enjoying all the area has to offer.

Summerland cottage

The cottage is comfortable, clean and quaint. It's a great location for visiting the surrounding areas and a lovely view of the ocean from the front living area. We found the beds comfortable and the cottage is nicely decorated, with a vintage, beach vibe. Unfortunately for us, however, the noise from the freeway did inhibit our enjoyment of the cottage, especially at night.The listing does make reference to the noise from traffic but it was just a bit too consistently noisy for us.A second white noise machine for the back bedroom may have been helpful for sleeping. Unfortunately we also had early noise disturbances from construction on the street outside on one of the days so had to move our car the previous night so that the trucks could park during the day. The garden is a lovely space with a fire pit but we were not inclined to use it.This is a tough review to make as the cottage itself is great but for our noise sensitive family it wasn't quite as relaxing as we would have liked.

Sweet cottage with great views, beautifully decorated. Very comfortable. close to nice shops. There was one issue but the company was very responsive. The only suggestion I would make is to have some light at the bottom of the steps: its very hard to see and a bit dangerous at night.

Beautiful location!!!!

Wonderful location for a retreat in Santa Barbara. The location was on the bus line so we took the bus to and from the Carrillo Plaza in Santa Barbara. Conveniently located between 2 areas of restaurants and within walking distance to a coffee shop and park overlooking the ocean, our group of 2 couples had a marvelous time. The place was super clean with a fully stocked kitchen and there was plenty of space inside and outside for us to socialize. There is noise from the 101 but the sound machines provided adequately blocked it out and we slept great! Recommend highly.

Beach cottage luxury

Lillie by the Sea was an amazing property to stay in. I rarely have time to write reviews but i could not pass up on this one. The property is so special - perfect combination of rustic charm beach cottage mixed with modern amenities and beautiful decor. Location is fantastic. View was amazing, highly recommend
