"Very clean hotel with very helpful staff however the restaurant menu should be changed more we stayed 4days but due to the poor menu we only ate in the restaurant once, due to the location it is very difficult to eat in other places The facilities were excellent"

"Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. "Great location, but the hotel desperately needs updating. The staff were not very welcoming, they looked disinterested and not very helpful. Our room had an unpleasant smell when we walked in. The floorboards in the room above us constantly squeaked when people walked about which disturbed our sleep. The carpet throughout the hotel looked dirty with stains on it, which provided unpleasant and unwelcoming appearance. Garden and the plants were not maintained and looked very unkempt. "Staff, parking, quiet"

"Disappointing stay at this hotel. The staff were a little unwelcoming and the service was not great. A beautiful location but this was let down by terrible parking, poor facilities and attention to detail that wasn’t there!!!! The spa was poor with an outlook to a wall!! The room was also disappointing with hair on my pillow and uncomfortable cheap pillows. I was very much looking forward to this stay but was very disappointed."

"We stayed at the Derwent, we had requested for rooms close but were put on completely different floors. The hotel is very dated and is overdue an upgrade. The rooms are tired looking. We found some of the staff a little aloof and not many smiles around on reception or in the bars. The amenities are good. The outdoor and indoor pools looked good. There are some quieter places to sit if you wished. We had a lovely couple of days in Torquay and the hotel is conveniently located. If we stayed again...
