Acerca de esta propiedad

Hike-In Treehouse | White Mountain National Forest

  • Summary:

This hike-in off-grid treehouse is for guests who want their vacation to feel legendary. Tucked into 56 acres in the White Mountain National Forest region, this primitive stay sleeps up to 3 with two twin beds, a futon, private firepit, hammock, and no Wi-Fi or cell service. There’s no plumbing, heat, or running water, but you’ll have solar lighting, 12V solar power, a propane grill, private outhouse, and a water filtration system for drinking water.

    The Space:

The Birdie is the most adventurous of the off-grid units at In the Trees.

It is primitive, playful, and deeply memorable - the kind of place that feels less like a rental and more like a story your group gets to tell later.

Sleeping setup: two twin beds, one lower-level futon, sleeps 3 max. It is best for 2 guests who want separate beds, or up to 3 adventurous guests who are comfortable with one simpler futon sleeping spot.

Inside, you’ll have bedding, solar lighting, limited 12V solar power, and a water filtration system for drinking water. Outside, you’ll have a private fire pit, propane grill, hammock, private outhouse, and the full woodland mood: trees, stars, trail shoes, bug spray, and absolutely no group-chat obligations.

This is glamping without the setup. No tent poles. No sleeping on the ground. No pretending you know where the rainfly goes. Just a rustic little treehouse, a firepit, a hammock, and a few days where the world gets farther away.

    Other Things to Note:

    Seasonal Experience

    Summer

Summer at The Birdie is full treehouse-camp energy: green woods, hammock afternoons, disc golf, nearby lake days by car, firepit dinners, and warm nights under dark skies.

    Fall

Fall makes The Birdie feel extra storybook. The woods turn gold and red, the tower views get dramatic, and the firepit becomes the place everyone naturally gathers. There is no heat, so fall guests should bring warm layers and cozy sleepwear.

    May

May is adventurous, green, and sometimes muddy. Bring practical shoes and expect rustic Maine spring conditions. The Birdie is happiest when guests arrive prepared to be outdoorsy little forest goblins, respectfully.

Location / White Mountain National Forest Region

The Birdie is located at In the Trees in Stoneham, Maine, a tiny rural town in the White Mountain National Forest region.

Stoneham is remote. The draw is the forest, disc golf, hiking, nearby lakes, dark skies, and access to western Maine and White Mountain region adventure.

    Lakes are nearby by car.
