"An amazing stay at the Dale Head Hotel! Beautiful location and well-manicured grounds to walk around. There is access to the lake from the property, but not easily - the path is a little over-grown. The Manager, Dale, was lovely and could not have been more helpful. We were there to hike Helvellyn, and he advised us that Swirls Car park (beginning of the hike) is easily accessed from the hotel by a woodland footpath, rather than the main road, or paying for the car park. "Whilst my room was small, it had all I needed. The highlight was the staff: reception and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Polite, attentive, efficient. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The restaurant menu for dinner was ok but sometimes a wider simpler choice would have been nice."

"Amazing views and walks around the hotel. Basic room in need of modernisation. Beds were very comfortable. No curtains or blinds on the window! Toilet was broken on arrival but was fixed within the hour and offered a drink on the house which is nice. Staff very helpful and friendly. You can see the property is undergoing some work so understandable."

"This is a hotel in a small community on the costal estuary. Not a 5 star Marriott, but you wouldn’t want one in this quaint town."

"We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed."

"Beautiful house and gardens. Room was excellent as was the breakfast. Hazel and her husband work very hard to make your stay special. The local pub has recently changed hands and don't currently have a chef, so if you need food, then plan this on the way as there is nothing within walking distance. :-)"

"There was some work going on for the new spar but didn’t affect us staff really kind especially Kieran and Mathew definitely will return we had a superb room with a big bay window overlooking lake Windermere"
