Beautiful location and responsive hosts. This place was huge and one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. I also liked that we were down by the water, which not only meant we had the opportunity to go paddle boarding and snorkeling just steps from the residence, but it also meant for a less steep drive (something I quickly appreciated was not too common on St John).

The place was beautiful. Every bedroom has their own bathroom. Plenty of space to enjoy eating meals and playing games. The master bedroom was impressive. Great deck with a beautiful view of the water. We will definitely return.

Spectacular all the way around.

From the extremely helpful staff at Bookvi (Brandon and Ashley), to the greater (Henrietta) who showed us around when we arrived, to the actual condo - everything was exceptional! They went above and beyond to make sure our transportation from St Thomas to the condo was flawless and even arranged a pitstop at the stoee to load in some groceries when we first arrived since our rental Jeep pickup was the next day.First, it is MUCH larger than we thought so plenty of room and can comfortably accomodate 8 guests. Kitchen was ready to go and having the propane grill was huge. Having the beach chairs, towels, coolers, snorkle/fins, paddleboards and kayaks worked out so well and helped us not have to bring any of the bulky items with us!Then, then location was close enough to make Cruz Bay easily accessible but quiet and peaceful - we practically had the beach to ourselves each day. We also enjoyed the wildlife- from the family deer who showed up in the evening to the iguanas and rooster (no early AM noise though!). Will not hesitate to book again.

Absolutely Perfect Stay At Southern Star

We absolutely loved our stay at Southern Star! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The home itself is stunning—beautifully maintained, spotless, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing island getaway for our family of 5. The house was stocked with everything you could possibly want for a beach vacation—beach chairs, beach towels, three coolers, six sets of snorkel gear, rafts, and even access to four paddle boards and two kayaks.We found the location to be perfect—just a short 5-minute drive to Cruz Bay, which made getting to restaurants, shops, and the ferry super convenient. It was also a quick drive to the Windmill Bar, one of our favorite spots for sunset views, drinks, and live music.One of the highlights of our experience was the incredible communication with the property manager. They checked in with us throughout our stay offering thoughtful recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and things to do around St. John, it felt like our own private concierge!We also loved the local wildlife around the property. We regularly spotted deer, roosters, and iguanas right near the house. We had read a previous review mentioning an outdoor odor, but we didn’t experience any bad smells at all during our stay—everything was fresh, clean, and truly lovely. If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious retreat with exceptional hospitality, a great location, and every amenity you can think of, this is it!

Great space!

We stayed for 4 nights-- 2 kids (14,12) and 4 adults (grandparents and parents). This was a beautiful and comfortable space. One great downstairs bedroom, two spacious upstairs bedrooms. We had 3 other family members visit during the evenings and there was space for all nine of us to hang out together. The communication with the property managers was fantastic.Location is about 7-8 minutes max from the Ferry Landing-- 15 minutes from the national park. Our only difficulty was finding the space initially. It is in a development off of Chocolate Hole Road, but Chocolate Hole Road has no road sign:) It is the 4th right past the Westin, so easy to find once you know what to look for.

Awesome property

We loved our stay at Southern Star. The Condo is immaculate and the bedroom suites are very spacious. On STJ we usually stay up in the hills but it was fun being water level. Enjoyed paddle boarding every morning. Also, the hosts, Book VI, were very nice and super responsive.

Southern star Villa, chocolate hole, St. John

We absolutely loved our stay at Southern star Villa located at Chocolate Hole in St. John. We were a group of five adults and there was plenty of room for everyone to comfortably stay. The unit was beautiful and very well stocked. The property manager was extremely responsive and very quickly answered all of our texts and questions and provided helpful information About the rolling blackouts that are happening right now in St. John. We can highly recommend a stay at Southern star!

Graduation celebration trip

We were a group of Mom’s and sons celebrating high school graduation. We were happy to have Southern Star as our home base the 5 days we spent on the island. The hosts were always available and helpful from booking to check out. Wonderful experience!

Don’t miss visiting St. John!

The villa was perfect for our party of six. Nice view, comfortable furnishings (including the beds) and enjoyed the local wildlife (deer, chickens, geckos and iguanas). The location does not accommodate walking to downtown Cruz Bay and with limited parking downtown, we used local taxis. The location of the villa is quiet and great for relaxing. Four in our party were over 70 but were able to navigate the stairs for the two upstairs bedrooms. The rental team was very responsive to our questions/requests.

Wonderful Oasis

Had a lovely time with friends in this beautiful property. Was an excellent place to escape the world and disconnect for a bit. Wonderful hosts who were available and communicated throughout our whole stay.

nicely appointed inside - as long as you don't go out on the porch or for a walk around the property

No pool. There's a small beach, but it was usually crowded with small boats, THE SMELL! We were unable to have our morning coffee on the porch(es) because of the stink that smelled like a toilet had over flowed. Even when we went out for dinner, the stench would still be there when we got back. Owner was pleasant. Road needs paving. I'd not stay here again.
