Mystic Ridge exceeded our expectations!! The view was absolutely breathtaking… pictures really don’t do it justice! The house was clean and the bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely furnished (make sure you have one person or couple in your group who is okay with climbing spiral stairs, there is one bedroom that is only accessible via steep spiral stairs, which was fine for our family). The pool and hot tub were icing on the cake! The location is unbeatable- you are central to everything on the island, which makes bopping around the whole island very convenient. Would gladly stay here again!

Amazing Stay in St. John

We really enjoyed our stay in St. John and this house was perfect for our group of 8, which included our 2 kids. The views from the property are amazing and like others have said they are even more amazing than the pictures. The home had lots of amenities and the bedrooms were all comfortable. We would definitely stay again next time we visit the island.

Gorgeous View, but lots of bugs

The view was great, and the rooms were updated, but we had some issues with bugs in the house. The common space also had a few things that weren't functioning (light out in the pool, grill not working, stove top not working, some of the screens were torn or falling out, etc.). Other than that, the actual living area and pool were great and perfect for board game nights after long days at the beach. One thing I wish I would have known is how hard it would be to get back and forth from other places on the island and this rental location. We didn't want to rent a car because we were drinking, so we had to resort to taxis, which are a per person charge+tip each ride. Also when we needed some people to come, we were fully dependent on their timing, and almost missed our ferry out on the last day because of this. The view is really great, but the location made it really hard to explore.

Mystic Ridge rocks!!

Location was perfect on the island. The individual bedrooms and restrooms were a definite bonus and we loved the large kitchen and gathering area. Was a great vacation!!!!

Upper Carolina paradise

Gorgeous, well maintained property mid-way between Cruz and Coral Bay. Perfect for our group of eight friends celebrating collective birthdays. Spectacular views out to Coral Bay and the East End. 5-15 min to Maho and North Beaches, about 15-20 min to Cruz Bay. Lovely, well stocked large modern kitchen with a huge great room for the group to hang out as well as a large terrace with dining, hot tub and pool. Beautiful breezes on the mountaintop and great sunrises. We did have two people with mobility issues post op, so be advised that there are steps down to the entrance, to one of the bedrooms and one of the bedrooms (the double) is accessed only by a spiral staircase. We sorted it all out, but just an fyi in case it matters. Dave, the manager, was great and very accessible. We used Sam and Jack’s Deli for catering and had three fantastic meals in-house. Windmill Bar isn’t far and is a must for the view and great live music. We had a perfect stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Can’t wait to return. Thx, Dave!!

Excellent Coral Bay location with beautiful views!

The property is private & beautiful. The view is stunning, especially at sunrise!! The location is convenient to Coral Bay and not far from the North shore beaches. The floor plan was perfect for our family of 8 with 4 separate bedrooms and en-suites. Along with large common areas inside and out. It can’t go without mention…the sheets in all the bedrooms were the best, most comfortable we’ve ever slept in! Dave was very responsive and took time to show us around the house before handing us the keys to the castle: The fridge control panel needs repair(beeping sound) and it would have been great if the pool light was working. Regardless, we really enjoyed our stay, we would recommend this property and would love to return with our family!

Mystic Ridge is a top VRBO property

Mystic Ridge was everything we were hoping for and more. Beautiful home, views were breathtaking and all amenities were top notch. Highly recommend staying here. We will stay here again when we return to St John. The property manager was very attentive and responsive. Awesome experience!!

College Graduation Trip

The property was immaculate and the view was the best on the island! The breeze at night was cool and didn’t even need the room AC. Very private and quiet. Lots of amenities not even listed. Highly recommend this property that will comfortably sleep 8 adults. Dave was prompt and gave great orientation to the property. Also highly recommend VI jeep rentals. Long Boards was our favorite place to eat. No reservations so go early. Maho Bay and Trunk Bay were our favorite beaches. Go see the sunset at Windmill!

Unbeatable Views - Great for Groups of Friends

This is an excellent property for up to four couples traveling together as it has an unusual design of a central living/kitchen area for gathering but separate bedroom suites grouped around the central area and pool courtyard, thereby maximizing privacy for each couple. The views over the islands to the east are fantastic - get up early to watch the Caribbean sunrise. A rental car is essential as the property is about 5 minutes drive from Coral Bay and about 15 minutes from Cruz Bay. We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to rent again if we return to St John. Only reason for four stars and not five was some electrical items were not working properly during our stay (hot tub controls, oven setting controls, outlets in master bathroom) - not huge problems, but reduced the perfection of the stay. Highly recommend the property!

Magnificent villa with a spectacular view!

I could have stood on the patio and looked at the view the entire time we were there. Probably the most beautiful view I have ever seen in my life. But then I would have missed out on the magnificent house. The four bedrooms were amazingly appointed. Beautiful beachy furnishings with wonderful windows and doors. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were well stocked. The kitchen was a dream with everything you could possibly need. The great room was beyond great! A huge comfortable couch and lots of chairs. You could get lost in that room. They had a karaoke machine which we took advantage of… They had hundreds of movies for the Apple TV. We did not watch any, but that was because we ran out of time! The doors in the great room were fantastic. You could open them with or without the screens. And the view will leave you awestruck. The location of the house is about mid island, basically halfway between Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. Perfect for any direction you want to go. The swimming pool and hot tub were just icing on the cake. I cannot say enough good things about this house, view, and surroundings. And Dave was fantastic to work with also. If you rent this house it would be impossible to be disappointed.

Both Good and Bad: Great property with a critter problem

The Good: The location, the property itself, furniture was great, outdoor space great, host very responsive and nice. The Bad: Rats and Cockroaches. We've been coming to St. John for 15+ years and have never had this before. Rats in the house. Droppings on the couch, droppings/urine on the kitchen counters, droppings on the bathroom countertop. Host was great to come and put out more traps, but there were still more. Running behind the TV shelves when we were watching a movie. Running in the kitchen when I was loading dishwasher. Islands always have critters, but the cockroaches were excessive. Coming out of the couch when you'd sit down. Climbing around the kitchen cabinets and in the pantry. I'd kill 3-4 an evening around the kitchen. We have never stayed anywhere on the island that had rats, or this many cockroaches. We have had an iguana problem in one place, but nothing like this. One more note in case it matters to someone's needs, the internet is well-below average, even for the island. It's generally much better around Cruz Bay than Coral, but even for Coral this was bad. Yes there are streaming services on the TV, but the movies we streamed suffered from excessive buffering most of the time. My speedcheck app measured it at .8 mbps. Not really useful for anything. In sum, this is a property that has great views, good location, and really good furnishings and layout. But for the amount of $ charged, the rats and cockroaches put a significant damper on the enjoyment of the trip.

Spacious, spread out, and secluded!

This home beat all of our expectations from start to finish. David greeted us at the ferry and led us to the property to show us around. We were immediately blown away by the views walking right into the gate. Each room was spacious, had an en suite bath and gorgeous views. The main living area had plenty of comfortable seating. The kitchen was stocked with more than we could have ever hoped for. David responded quickly with any questions, recommendations, or tips. He was super easy to communicate with and very helpful throughout our stay. The property is super secluded and very private. I will say, be prepared if you are a newcomer to the Virgin Islands, the small area of Coral Bay doesn’t have much as far as food or shops. There are a couple of restaurants (open Tuesday - Saturday only) and a couple of small grocery stores. We were fine with it because we didn’t want to leave our private little piece of paradise. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for an authentic St. John vacation home.

Vacation with friends

Overall the property was very nice. There were a few things that did not work that we felt should have been fixed. The stereo speakers, the TV in living room and the sun shade umbrellas by the pool. We really were looking forward to hanging by the pool during the day but without any shade it was too hot. The pictures of the house showed Mystic Ridge robes layered out on the bed, but there were none to be found. And we ran out of dishwashing soap before the end of the trip.

Paradise within Paradise

We had an amazing week! Each couple had their own private retreat to escape to, and the common areas were perfect for entertaining. We were centrally located to Coral Bay, Cruz Bay, and Maho/Trunk Bays. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Family getaway

We had a great stay at Mystic Ridge. Loved the close proximity to Maho, Trunk, and Cinnamon Bays. The house was beautiful and has a nice open floor plan for family meals and hanging out by the pool. And the view is SPECTACULAR.

PARADISE

STJ will always be a special place for our families. Mystic Ridge brought it to the next level. The views were absolutely beautiful. Some of the best I’ve seen on the island after coming for 8 +years. The kitchen was large enough (and more) for our two families. The pool was an added bonus. We loved ending out beach afternoons floating at home and watching the sun set. Each bedroom felt like it’s own oasis and ALL with views! David and Julie we’re great hosts! Always a text away and on top of everything. Already planning our trip back!

Fabulous villa, view and vacation!

Mystic Ridge is such a beautiful villa in a great location on island. It is beautifully decorated and has all the essentials and then some. The location is great...within 15 mins to almost everything on island. Dave and Julie were very reachable and responsive, too. I would stay here again in a heartbeat...and hope to soon!
