First, the pros: the view is wonderful! The access to the beach is terrific. The pools and hot tubs on the property are fantastic. It's a great location, and the beach here is wonderful.
The maintenance staff is responsive and friendly. The A/C quit working in our condo, and maintenance quickly came to check it out. They diagnosed a clogged drain, did what they could to fix it, and called a service company, which also responded quickly. The A/C worked great the rest of our stay.
Second, the cons: I am not a condo diva. I do not require updated kitchens and baths and cute seashell-themed decor. So long as the room is clean and has a good view of the ocean, I am happy. This unit, however, really could use some general upkeep.
For example, I love a beach sunrise, but I like to have the option of whether I want the sun to hit me in the face first thing every morning. Unfortunately, because the blinds in both front rooms were missing so many pieces, there was no way to close them fully. Also, when my 14yo daughter first sat in a dining chair, the back of the chair fell out. Two of the bath towels had large rips in them, and the sheets in the master bedroom also had holes. A pillow in the other bedroom likewise was ripped with stuffing coming out. The carpet and paint in the unit are old and discolored around the edges, which gave it a not-so-clean feeling. The grossest thing, however, was when my husband went to make coffee on our first morning there, opened the coffee maker, and found a used coffee filter in it -- full of wet grounds and fuzzy gray mounds of mold.
Again, the overall complex and location are terrific. The view is lovely (and you can see it from 2/3 of the front windows, as the other 1/3 are permanently fogged). I can get down with the Golden-Girls-era decor. But this unit needs some better upkeep with linens, blinds, and cleaning. That didn't stop us from having a wonderful family vacation, though!
