This is as our second time staying here. It was amazing. We really enjoyed the upgraded bathrooms. This house is prime location to get to the beach.

House location is perfect on the beach with very few people. The house definitely needs to be deeper cleaned, especially kitchen and HVAC vents. The kitchen could use some nicer and additional dishes/utensils for guests who cook. Overall the house needs to be updated, exterior needs cleaned up, it's very dated and wall facing ocean needs some attention. Rust coming from outlets is not a good sign. Owner was very helpful with dishwasher not working and faucets not working properly. Thank you! Stove is missing a control knob, so only 3 burners are useable. Location, location, location!!! Probably won't rent this house again, but area is beautiful.

Extraordinary Stay!!

This house was everything and more, the bathrooms are top of the line, marble floors, gold fixtures!! The entire house was very clean, the kitchen has new stainless steel appliances, I could go on and on about this house…..but you should plan a stay to see for yourself!! You will not be disappointed. I forgot to tell you that it is directly on the beach!

I have been renting in Vilano beach for over ten years and have never left a bad review but I think people should be aware of the problems with this house. First…it smells bad throughout. Kind of a sour musty old smell. There is not enough flatware, dishes, utensils or serving dishes. The kitchen pantry had multiple brooms and cleaning supplies (toxic) just thrown in where there was food. The closet on the ground floor was filled with a mess of mops,brooms, buckets and cleaning supplies just thrown in haphazardly making access to the towels difficult. The towels felt damp and smelled musty I spent an hour straightening it up . . The closet in the second floor bedroom was again stuffed with numerous containers as well as baby items thrown in on top of each other. The “in-law suite” on the ground floor is old, damp and smelly …the whole area is uninviting. The master bedroom is spacious but the rug is stained, the furniture old and worn. The bed sheets were ill fitting and cheap. The grill was broken, gross and unusable. There were no adult beach chairs, no working umbrella. There were left over building supplies scattered near the patio and on the side of the house. There were uneven blocks laid piecemeal that comprised the patio. The entire place seemed as though they had just thrown it together . . Oh another rather peculiar thing… the floors always feel sandy and gritty. …no matter how much you rinse before coming in, due to the lack of good rugs

Fantastic

It's a beautiful very nice house. The view of the ocean cant be beat. Walking on the beach and there is so few people around is so nice. At the end of the week we were there we wished we could be there for a month. Will rent this house again. What a pleasure!

Family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay. The multiple decks overlooking the ocean…. the beach as our backyard. The sunrises over the water, our granddaughter playing. Just beautiful.

Amazing Thanksgiving

We decided to make a very special Thanksgiving for our 80 year old dad. We wanted him to see the ocean and make lovely memories for the whole family. We saw dolphins, watched the sunrise each morning, played games. The house is a perfect layout, bathrooms are gorgeous and the kitchen is large. It was an amazing experience and would stay here again. It might become our family’s new tradition. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Cant beat this location

Stayed at the house the week of Milton and I was sad to have to check out early because the house was nice and right on the beach! Fully stocked with everything you would need. The property manager was friendly and understanding and allowed us to cancel late due to the hurricane. I would stay here again!!

Perfect Beach Getaway – Clean, Beautiful, and Ideal Location!

My family and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful beach house! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the home was. It had everything we needed and more, making it easy to settle in and relax. The location was unbeatable—just steps away from the beach with stunning views of the water, and close to wonderful shops and fantastic restaurants. The hosts were incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect for our stay, ensuring we felt welcome and comfortable. We spent our days enjoying the pristine beach and clear water, and it was the perfect spot for our family getaway. We can't recommend this place enough and are already looking forward to returning for our next vacation!

Relaxing beach vacation

We had the most amazing and relaxing time at Casa Pelicanos! The house is very accommodating and had everything we needed including the most amazing bathrooms! There were beach supplies available for my kids and we all enjoyed swimming in the ocean all day and then watching movies together at night! Perfect stay and had everything we needed and PM was very helpful as needed.

Excellent Location, Awesome Beach house!

The property is exactly as pictured! The downstairs apartment is so convenient for those who are traveling with you and want their privacy (grandparents, couples, etc). The open floor plan on the main level offers tons of space for everyone. We had a party of 4 and really appreciated the spaciousness! Location to the beach cannot be beat! So close to the house you don't even need to cart a cooler, just run up to the house for anything you need. We have stayed at four different beach houses through the years on Vilano Beach and this one, by far, exceeds them all! All the beds were comfortable, beach towels were available for use in the laundry closet, there were some beach toys under the balcony at ground level that were left from other guests. However, bring your own beach chairs and umbrella, those are not provided. Location to downtown St. Augustine is less than 10 minutes away. Definitely try Vinnie's pizzeria over the bridge, it's far better than the pizzeria next to Publix and stays open longer!!!

Awesome beach stay.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful beach home for the second time. Absolute wonderful location and couldn’t be any closer to the beach. They’ve upgraded two of the bathrooms and have gone above and beyond beautiful. We had a minor issue with the hot water heater and within an hour someone showed up to fix it. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect vacation getaway. My husband and I look forward to our next stay.

Terribly disappointed and upset.

Not even worth delving into all the detail, as I numerous poor reviews have already done. I unfortunately missed them by trusting the verified host and 4.7 star review. Please listen to all of the reviews about cleanliness. Entire property was misleading for more reasons than just that. Ended up having to stay somewhere else as a result. I really don’t have much more I want to say, the host will be writing a bad review in response to this as they’ve already informed me. I’m not some property witch-hunter, not out to ruin reputations, I only know what I could see first-hand. I was just trying to enjoy a vacation with my family and was hardly able to. Just use this as a sign to take bad reviews into account as well as the good.

Summer vacation 2023

First of all I would like to start by saying, we vacation every year, for last seven years in Vilano. We always rent a house on the beach. The house itself and location are Great! It could have been a little cleaner. There was sand on the living room furniture, the twin beds on 2nd floor were very poorly made to the point of wondering how clean they were. Bed spreads definitely need washing or replacing. Sand was on the floors of every floor. The porches and railings are infested with spiders. Place just needs a good ol fashion cleaning. I am usually not so critical, but the property was empty for two days before we arrived. With that being said, we asked about an earlier check in time other than 5pm. I was told "if there not any vehicles in the driveway the cleaning people are gone." We could've checked in at noon. When we checked out at 10am, the cleaning guy was already there. Bottom line is property owner could be a little bit more involved. Location is great! We did have a good vacation, but will not book this property again.

Family Getaway

We had a wonderful week here! There was nothing better than waking up to the sunrise on the beach right outside our doors. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves (mid July)! We surfed everyday and had the best stay here! Extremely convenient for kids. We had 4! I highly recommend! God bless!

My family of 7 loved this beach house, it was spacious and perfect for us. My only down fall was the overall cleanliness of the property. I believe it needs a deep clean and check the functionality of the entire house, there were bathroom doors that didn’t close. There was trash behind the loft bed, there were stains and dirty marks on multiple beds/bedding. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds ever slept in. The location and view was perfect, just wish the property was cleaner. We would definitely stay here again if we see future reviews of the cleanliness being subpar.

Stunning views and perfect location!

Casa Pelicanos was the perfect house for our family vacation! The views from all 3 levels were stunning--no bad location to watch the sunrise without even having to step outside! The 3 levels provided the perfect amount of space for each of our family members. The host truly thought of everything we needed - from power strips all over to a water filter in the kitchen and plenty of other helpful items on hand. The location was perfect - very easy to get to the grocery, restaurants and historic St. Augustine. We definitely hope to come back for another visit!

Terrible house!!

There were roaches and the house was not clean....TERRIBLE BEDS! ROOF LEAKED SO BAD IN THE LOFT THAT TBE KIDS MSTRESSES GOT SOAKED. VRBO NOR THE PROPERTY MANAGER WOULD DO ANYTHING TO COMPENSATE US FOR HAVING A 2 BR RATHER THAN A 3 BR! DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE ITS A DUMP!!!

Family vacation

The home is spacious and comfortable. The location cannot be beat, right on the beach. The outdoor space with a covered area on the bottom floor, spacious deck on the main and third floor balcony are wonderful. We all enjoyed shelling, hunting for sharks teeth and relaxing. There were two turtle nests close to the home, but it was still too early for hatching. There are great restaurants within minutes, especially Caps on the Water. Publix is also very convenient. Overall we found the home a perfect fit for our multi-generational family.
