"Amazing stay at Anantara in Tangalle. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Especially Piyal our butler who made every effort to make our stay and unforgettable one. Rooms are spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom with a nice rain shower. The bed is really comfortable. Restaurants at the resort are good, we really enjoyed the Italian restaurant Il Mare (Risottos are delicious)"

"It's an old hotel. 50 yrs. So it's tired and needs a refurbish. Rooms are OK, but bathroom leaks water from the shower leaving puddles of water in the bathroom. Could smell urine in room 205 when using the shower so probably linked to the drainage system. Pool needs redone as several broken tiles and there were 3 people I saw who cut themselves including a member of staff and my daughter. "Nice relaxing location right on the beach, good place to adjust to vacation mood and recover from jet lag. Not much activity going on, this is a small place with just a few private beach huts, but the outdoor area is beautiful and well maintained and there are a few (enough) options next door to choose for your lunch/dinner spot.
