Trail way to fun

Myself and some friends were doing a ruck race at the lake and Casa Verde was the perfect spot to stay. Great location to the lake , very clean & well equipped. Would definitely stay again . Cathy H

Amazing place to stay!

We brought our grown children to town to see Santa Wonderland as a Christmas gift. This house was so perfect. It had everything we needed and more. The backyard was amazing! Tim and Karen were the perfect hosts. The neighbor stopped and spoke to my husband and had a great visit. Such a great experience!

Holiday Vacation

Great Location, home was clean and comfortable. Very spacious and loved the backyard. Lots of room outdoors for grandson to roam. Our overall stay was very relaxing and watching the Deers were a plus.

Had a great time!

Took my kids to their first Aggie game and stayed here for the weekend. Weather was perfect so we spent a lot of time in the huge back yard and celebrated the Ags winning. We had a great time and the owners were very accommodating.

Definitely a jewel!

Lake Somerville Jewel owned by Tim and Karen Thomas was the perfect home away from home for our family! My husband and I took my mom to her 70th high school reunion in Caldwell Tx for the 7th time but decided to make a little vacation of it instead of a quick trip and nights in a local hotel. We are so very glad we did! The property and cabin were perfect. 3 bedrooms, each with a charm all their own and 2 baths (they even provided a shower chair for my 88yo mom who recently had hip surgery)....plenty of room for my sister to join us as well! The big porches were so enjoyable we had breakfast outside everyday and quite a few dinners as well! The kitchen was filled with everything needed to prepare home cooked meals, all we had to provide was the food! The large yard was well liked by our dog who was so glad to travel with us instead of being kenneled. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We loved seeing all of the deer each evening come into the yard. (We hoped to see Sandy, Tim’s “pet” deer but maybe next time) The Birch Creek State Park is just 2 minutes away and though we didn’t catch any fish, my husband and I really enjoyed our morning out at the lake! Thank you Tim and Karen for sharing your Lake Somerville Jewel with us! Your kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed:-) May God bless you and pour out His favor on you and yours! Huge, awesome back yard. Very friendly onwers

We loved the backyard of the house and it was only a couple minute drive to the boat ramp. The owners were very friendly but I was not aware they would be staying in the extra room behind the house the entire time, which made it a little awkward. There are cameres everywhere which is completely understandable except couldn't help but feel watched the entire time. The house was also a little dirty, the appliances were grimmy and there were used razors and soaps in the bathtub.

Peaceful Texas Hideaway - Super Convenient to Aggieland!

The house is listed as a "Lake Somerville Jewel", and it is all that and more. The home is wonderful, but the outside spaces are outstanding. Firepit, grill, bicycles, corn hole, numerous other outdoor games and activities, the nearby State Park and lake, just to name a few things, PLUS more deer than I can ever remember seeing in one place. One will even eat apple slices out of your hand. Tim and Karen have made the place feel just like home and the special touches were surely appreciated - bottle of wine, fresh cookies, etc. Were there for only two nights for the Clemson- A&M game, but clearly wish we could have stayed much longer. Would highly recommend this for an Aggie Game, and with three bedrooms, a large crowd can be accommodated and have an incredible time without having to leave to go anywhere.
