Memorial Day Weekend Getaway
Our usual rental was already booked earlier in the season, so we took a gamble on a new option.
Let’s start with the pros:
•The location was great as it was only accessed through gated entry marked private property. This was beneficial as we travelled on Memorial Day weekend and the rest of the beach was packed except for the section in front of the condo.
•It was nice to have a washer/dryer in unit as we travelled with kids and they always end up getting clothes dirty.
•Check-in was super convenient and check-out wasn’t terrible either.
As for the cons:
•There is a governor on the thermostat at 70 and there are no curtains to block out the evening sun in the living room. This made the whole unit immensely uncomfortable. We ended up purchasing some command hooks and strung up two king-size sheets over the windows.
•The tub/shower combo must have missed its scheduled cleaning before we arrived as the plastic inner curtain was mildewed and had orange rust stains from the curtain rod.
•There were so many pieces of furniture in the unit, that with two adults and 4 kids, it was difficult to move around comfortably. We ended up moving a few pieces of furniture into different rooms to accommodate our needs.
Overall, I would stay again, but would just need to prepare for a few modifications
