Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. Luxury stay in the perfect spot!

We loved our stay! The decor and amenities made us feel right at home! We loved walking out of the front door onto Jones street with coffee shops and shopping just a few steps away, not to mention the picturesque homes and trees lining the street! I hope it’s available when we visit Savannah again.

Beautiful home in a perfect location!

This apartment is perfect for friends or family wanting to explore Savannah. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It was walking distance to Forsyth Park, River Street and City Market. Me and my girlfriends absolutely loved staying here. The only minor issue was the security codes for some of the doors were incorrect. But with a quick phone call, we were able to get the right codes. Overall, this was a fantastic stay!

Lucky Savannah changed our reservation

We booked this property in February 2021. We were notified by Lucky Savannah about a month prior saying they double booked and we were getting bumped. They offered a full refund or two other properties that were not even close to this property. We chose The Grant as the other property had poor reviews. The Grant was horrid. It's industrial and very noisy. The people above us partied Friday night and Saturday night. We received little rest. The property was located closer to river front and on a street that was under construction. We are adult women, who knew what type of property we wanted and it wasn't The Grant. We a month left until our trip, there were no options to cancel. Lucky Savannah did offer small condolence benefits such as free parking, but it still never made up for this disappointment. We were told by locals to not use Lucky Savannah as they have heard this happening to others. A true disappointment. Also, free parking pass was to be in our new property but I had to reach out twice after check in for the pass to be delivered.

Luxe - not disappointed

We rented both 1st and 2nd floors. It was the perfect space for our group. Plenty of space as well as privacy. House was well stocked with thoughtful detail (soap, shampoo, bathro tissue). Great location near everything on the most beautiful street in Savannah. Would stay again.

Not the best home for us

Sorry our original home had an issue But this was not an up grade but a down grade. The house needs many upgrades the furniture was very stained the oven was gross. The out door furniture REALLY. Thelouge chair on the patio was so torn you could not even sit in it. There was a rat in the court yard looking for food oh & let’s not forget about the flying cockroaches we had to kill. Our daughter sleep in the car the one night I can deal with a lot but this was inexcusable. But on a good note Savannah is a wonderful city with a lot of great charm & friendly people.

Not great

To start, Lucky Savannah cancelled our first rental at Lux on Jones that was booked months in advance a week and a half before our trip. Grant street suites was not comparable to our first choice and they did not offer compensation. Grant Suites are loud, the garbage trucks come every night. The smell of cats never goes away. it seemed clean at first glance but stain on the mattress. They charge $60 to check in a few hours early even though the suite was sitting empty for days. Overall not a great experience.
