Pretty nice place;

So many upgrades provided! Amazing no-sand quick dry beach towels. All snorkeling equipment included. Very nice pots, pans, etc available for cooking. Local coffee and condiments included. Host was the most communicative I’ve experienced! All made for a magnificent stay. The hill is no joke though. Super quiet end unit.

We had a wonderful stay at Mark's condo for our first visit to Costa Rica. Mark was outstanding with communication; gave great recommendations for excursions, groceries, restaurants, etc. Check in, directions,etc were clear and promptly communicated. The condo is beautiful, well maintained with a gorgeous view. Super comfortable with everything you need for a fantastic vacation. We appreciated the kayaks and beach supplies. Would absolutely recommend staying here and we will be back - thank you!

Everything was perfect! A lot of activities and gear, perfect beach, wonderful snorkeling, magnificient view, very welcoming and cheerful appartement with all the Costa Rican decorations and animal paintings on the walls ! We really enjoyed our stay and would like to have stayed longer! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed , even basic spices and oil for cooking and plastic containers for leftovers! A real kitchen with a lot of counter space was greatly appreciated :) We felt very safe and well supported throughout our stay. The owner was very fast at answering our questions Thank you again so much for your apartment and sharing this wonderful place!

An Unforgettable Stay at Los Almendros in Playa Ocotal, Costa Rica!Wow – what an amazing experience! Our stay at Los Almendros in Playa Ocotal was nothing short of perfect. The location is absolutely beautiful – tucked into a peaceful area with breathtaking views and just steps away from the stunning beach. The sand, the waves, the sunsets… everything felt like a dream.The condo had EVERYTHING we needed. It didn’t lack a single thing – fully equipped, clean, comfortable, and clearly cared for with love. It truly felt like a home away from home.Anytime we had a question or needed something (even something small), the host responded immediately. The level of hospitality was truly top-notch – you can tell they genuinely care about making your stay perfect.Our kids loved every second of it – from the beach to the pool to exploring the area. It’s rare to find a place that makes the entire family this happy, but Los Almendros did exactly that.We’re already talking about our next trip back – we will absolutely be returning. A huge THANK YOU to the host for the best hospitality and one of our favorite family vacations ever.Highly, highly recommend!!

Absolutely perfect — better than 5 stars!We had an amazing stay at this condo. The location was unbeatable — just a short walk to a beautiful beach with fantastic snorkeling right off the shore. The swimming was great, and our family especially loved the rock jumping! There’s even a restaurant right on the beach, making it feel like a true paradise.The condo itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was perfect for our family of four. We really appreciated the extras, like snorkeling gear and kayaks, which made it easy to enjoy the water every day.Mark was an outstanding host — incredibly communicative and helpful from start to finish. He answered every question promptly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!

Great location and would recommend a golf cart over a car. Unit itself is perfect for 4, and has all you need for a stay. Beach is a bit rocky in the middle but both ends have quality sand and plenty of room to swim around and play. Security is always present, and there are some pools on the property that are ideal if one needs a beach break.I"d argue this was probably the best host we"be worked with. Communication is prompt and he does al in his power so the experience is perfect.The nearby restaurant is very good, and the 10 min gold cart tide to Coco was fun for the kids too. Convenient groceries and shoppes all in Coco, so one can get all the need rather quickly.And if you love seafood -- there is a fish market only about a 4 min golf cart ride away and the selection is top notch.

Amazing

We had the best stay here, Mark was always very quick to respond and gave tons of pointers and suggestions. Quick drive to town, Brian with Island Golf Carts was amazing as well. He gave us lots of pointers and info as well. Memo was spectacular and easy to communicate with. He handled all of our tours and getting us to and from. Very clean and nice place and had everything you could possibly need!! Will definitely want to return!

Simply Amazing

Everything about our stay was phenomenal. The staff were friendly and helpful, the condo was clean, spacious and had amazing views, and the beach was incredible. This was an amazing beach location for our family. Our communication with Mark was great. He provided all the information we needed and more. He helped us connect with a driver as we opted not to drive while in Costa Rica. Any questions we had were responded to promptly. I highly recommend!

I felt like I was at home!

Our first trip to Costa Rica and we found the best place to stay. The condo is in a great location with a lot of security! We felt 100% safe! It is big with two bedroom, two baths. The kitchen is well equipped so you can cook some of your own meals. It’s nicely decorated and very clean. My husband and I agreed that this was the nicest Vrbo we have ever stayed in. So many restaurants that are close, one a walk away ( Fathers Rooster) Great fish and chips. Mark and his wife have thought of everything with so many amenities and were so helpful with a lot of information! Anything you can think of for the beach, they have it! All of his recommendations were spot on! He also hooked us up with some reputable tour guides. We rented a golf cart from Brian for the week, it was a perfect way to get around and he’s the nicest guy! We hired Memo for rides back and forth to the airport and two tours. His son, Fernando was terrific! We couldn’t have asked for more knowledgeable, honest, kind people. They stopped at the grocery store for us on our way to the condo from the airport which was so sweet. They stopped to let us shop for some souvenirs on our way back to the airport. I cannot say enough good things about the condo or the tour guides. We went to La Leona waterfall and the sloth sanctuary. Both were amazing! A lot of wild life to be seen from the condo with a great view yet very peaceful! Thanks to Mark for being so communicative and helpful. We loved our trip!

Condo is on a hill overlooking the beach with beautiful views. The condo itself was clean, comfortable, and safe being in a gated community. The host provides everything you could possibly want for the beach and their communication is top notch. We would highly recommend.

Great location, great vacation

Thank you Mark and Cheryl for opening up your condo, this has been one of my best vacations. This is my first time to Costa Rica and I’ll definitely be returning. Loved the people, the culture, the food, the weather and exploring the various sitesYour condo was very comfortable and has everything one could possibly need. mark provided great information and quick response to any questions I had. It made getting established a lot easier.Your recommendations to use Memo to book any adventures was great advice, especially liked the river tour. Visited a number of beaches and Ocotal is still one of my favourites and probably the best so far for snorkelling. Heading home with great memories.I’m going to miss the early mornings and sunsets on the Lanai, you never get tired of the view especially at sunset.Looking forward to returning.Pura Vida

A little slice of paradise in Costa Rica!

We just returned from a 6 day stay in Playa Ocotal, and can't say enough about this fabulous property! Communication with Mark was amazing - he was so quick to respond to any questions that I had, and even reached out at one point during our stay to let us know that humpack whales had been spotted in the bay (my husband did indeed catch one breaching thanks to Mark!). The view from the condo is absolutely breath-taking...We loved waking up every morning and having coffee on the screened in porch, listening to the waves, birds (including parrots!) and sometimes even howler monkeys! Our morning beach walks felt too beautiful to be real...we loved the peace of the gorgeous, quiet beach. Father Rooster is an adorably charming beach bar/grill that is literally right next door - when we were tired, it was so nice to be able to just walk over there and get dinner and drinks. Soluna Beach Bistro is another close restaurant that was just lovely for Christmas Eve dinner. The condo itself was so well stocked with everything we could need - beach towels, chairs, and snorkeling gear galore. My 18 and 20 year old nature loving kids had a blast snorkeling over the rocks off the beach and saw all kinds of beautiful fish. The condo was clean and comfortable, and felt exceedingly safe! The staff were friendly and attentive as well, and it was wonderful being so close to Coco where we had access to groceries and more restaurant options. Absolutamente perfecto - muchas gracias!!
