The condo was perfect. So many simple things that made our stay easier-a cooler, and especially the child gates. #10 villa is perfect-steps to the beach and the pool/restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful as I practiced my Spanish. Alvin, the host was great too. He took care of making sure the water was safe to drink and that we had a paknplay for our grandson. He also made wonderful recommendations for dinner.

A perfect location for our family of 7, including our 1.4 month-old granddaughter - everyone loved it. Close to the beach, right next to the pool and restaurant (Soluna). Went to the Coco Beach area, (several options for groceries), also had great meals at Soda Teresita (dinner) and Cafe Corazon (breakfast). Per Alvin's recommendations; tried the pizza at La Caveja Pizza - very good!, as well as Father Rooster's, which is a "do not miss" - the food was great and the sunset was spectacular!!Alvin and Cesar were very helpful with any questions we had.

Absolutely best place I have stayed!!

When I read the reviews on this place, I kind of thought it was too good to be true. When people have said the photos don’t do it justice, don’t get me wrong, the photos are beautiful, but they really don’t. This place was absolutely amazing. We have stayed other places and there are always some kind of issue. This place was 100% clean, gorgeous, and the views were absolutely beautiful!Our villa was literally right next to the resort restaurant and pool, which was a huge convenience. Also walking down the steps to the beach, took about 10 seconds. Every morning we would go sit out on the large patio overlooking the ocean and beautiful landscaping. We would hear, howler monkeys, birds, and had large iguanas visit us every day.Moving on to the owner Alvin was fantastic! We were given very informative details when we booked. Anytime during my trip I would text the owner. He responded to me within five minutes. As everyone else has said in their reviews as well, Caesar, the resort concierge was efficient and so nice. We were completely taken care of.We will definitely be coming back and staying there again. The only thing I hate about leaving this review is I’m afraid people are going to be booking it and I won’t be able to get in it again. Lol.

A Hidden Gem

Villa 10 is where my family and I stayed during our visit. The location of the villa is perfect. It is beachfront and right next door to the pool/restaurant. We loved the accessibility. It is very secluded; we pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves. The villa itself is nice and well equipped. We cooked meals and found everything we needed. We did use the grocery service, and the fridge was well stocked upon our arrival. We utilized the washer/dryer. Each person got one bath towel, so plan on doing laundry. It would’ve been nice to have more towels available. There were plenty of beach towels so that was a nice bonus. I would also suggest extra blankets for the ones that get a little cold during the evenings. Also, watch your toes; crabs tend to sneak in! We took advantage of the games/cards and had family game nights. Getting to the villa is a little tricky; lots of bumpy and windy roads, but we got to/from without issues once we got our directions down. Be sure to visit Father Rooster’s, it has good food and atmosphere. Also, Fabra is amazing. Communication was easy, and Alvin checked in to make sure we were doing well. There was also a nice welcome gift. Overall, this villa is a great space and I would stay here again.

Incredible black sand beachfront home

Our family stayed a week at Bahia Pez Vela - Villa 10. The owner sent wonderful comprehensive instructions to facilitate our arrival into the country and the home. The home had everything we needed and so much more. We cooked several meals at home and the kitchen was amply stocked. The living room, kitchen, and dining area had a wonderful open floor plan allowing us to enjoy time together with family and had wonderful touches for the Christmas season. The bed rooms were spacious and had wonderful air conditioning. The bathrooms had bath gel, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner and plenty of towels, including beach towels. The whole staff was incredible but a special thanks to our bartender, Kevin. Special shout out to our two favorites restaurants: 1) Soluna/ AOI sushi at the resort - spectacular drinks (especially recommend the red tide and the spicy green margarita) and food (especially enjoyed the sushi, and traditional Costa Rican dishes), 2) Sugoi Asian Mexican restaurant - solid across the board. We took several days trips, including Rincón de la Vieja national park, boat trip to Witches rock/ Santa Rosa national park, Diamonte eco adventure park, and multiple beaches (tamarindo, grande, coco, flamingo, hermosa were just some of the high points). We could have easily spent the week just enjoying the pool/ activities at the resort. The black sand beach at the resort was definitely one of our favorites. Thank you again for again for sharing your beautiful home!!

Second time is as great as the first

This is the second time we have stayed at this villa. The property and view are so beautiful! The view of the ocean from the beautiful deck can't be beat and the sound of the rolling waves 24/7 never gets old! The villa is laid out perfectly with the bedrooms on the second floor and living space on ground level. The staff are so helpful, they helped us plan all of our adventures and car rental. Highly recommend this place whether it's with family like our first visit or friends like our second visit, everyone had a great time.

Perfect gem of a place!

Our family of 5 stayed here for 8 days in June. Before booking, I had looked at so many different places but I'm SO incredibly glad we booked this one. The setting is truly the prettiest beach we visited and we went all over Northwest Costa Rica on our trip. The view from the deck is breathtaking, and the space was perfect for our family of five. The pictures of the condo don't do it justice - it is just gorgeous inside and out. We had coffee on the deck each morning, had a clear view down to the beach where our kids swam daily, and fell asleep each night to the sounds of the ocean. We visited during the off-season, so the beach and pool steps away felt private for us. We had several meals at the restaurant next door and every single dish was delicious. Eating there can get a little costly for a family of five, so we were so happy to have the full kitchen in the villa stocked with everything we needed to make our own meals. Al was so helpful with his communication before and during our stay. He helped me set up airport transportation and connected me with Marbely in the restaurant to set up a special dinner for my husband for Father's Day. He answered all my questions quickly. He also helped us get a rental car delivered to the villa, which I'm glad we did on this first trip to better see the area (although Cesar will help set up excursions that pick you up right outside the condo.) This is just a perfect gem of a place for your Costa Rican vacation.

Amazing stay! Would definitely stay again.

This is an absolutely beautiful home. The beach was lovely. We swam in the ocean every day. The home owners made the stay as easy as could be. They provided lists of nearby activities, put us in contact with drivers, car rentals, anything we needed. We booked a fishing excursion through Cesar in the office. It was so easy and the boat picked us up right on the beach! The home is equipped with everything you need. Water floaties, containers for your left overs, soaps and shampoos, etc. I could go on. You simply can't go wrong renting this villa!

A Slice of Paradise

Bahia Pez Vela is a beautiful resort, and Villa Mariposa was as much as we ever expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and the excursion opportunities in the area. Cesar and his team were very helpful and accommodating, and we can't say enough good things about how we were treated. Also the food at Soluna was excellent. Overall, we give our experience a "10". We would love to come back some time.

Villa Mariposa, #10

We had a wonderful week at Villa #10, at Bahia Pez Vela Resort. The location, steps from both the striking black sand beach and the resort’s pools and charming restaurant, was ideal. The resort has a friendly family oriented feel. Our hosts Alvin and Carolanne were exceptionally helpful and responsive. Snorkelling right off the beach was very enjoyable. We would heartily recommend Villa #10….and hope to return ourselves!

House was lovely, clean and well appointed. The patio is comfy and has such an amazing view you will not want to be inside. Just a few steps away from the secluded black sand beach. The on site restaurant serves delicious food, has a nice ambiance and wonderful customer service. We will most certainly be returning.

I can't recommend this Villa enough for your vacation. Extremely convenient to the beach and the clubhouse/restaurant/pool next door. Short drive to Coco beach, not much further to Playa Hermosa. Very attentive staff, and great communication from the owner of this villa. Highly recommended.

Amazing memories made

We had an amazing experience! We came with our 2 daughters, 20 and 15, and everyone had plenty of space. The villa was very clean with plenty of towels and linens. The kitchen had plenty of space and everything you needed to cook. It was close to the nearby town for shopping and restaurants. We did several excursions and had transportation provided that picked us up at our villa. We would recommend this villa 100%!

Vacation in Paradise

If a trip to Costa Rica is on your “ bucket list” and you want to stay in a community that is safe, secure and overwhelmingly beautiful, look no further. The Bahia Pez Vela Beach Resort is located on its own private beach about 35 minutes east of the Liberia airport. There is no need to rent a car, the owner of Villa #10 will help you to arrange transportation from the airport with a stop at the supermarket in Coco Beach to pick up groceries en route to your villa. The owners of Bahia Pez Vela #10 are the most helpful rental hosts that we have ever dealt with. They supplied us with wonderful recommendations for tours and restaurants and general travel information about Costa Rica that was very helpful. The oceanfront condo is really beautiful and is meticulously maintained. We really appreciated the proximity to the pool and the restaurant. Steps lead directly from the condo to both the pool area and the beach. The restaurant has excellent food. While we were there in early July, there was live music once a week and specialty nights twice weekly. The property is quiet, private and a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The interior spaces of the villa are thoughtfully furnished and very comfortable. The patio is an extension of the living spaces and the shaded sitting area makes for wonderful ocean viewing even in the brief rainy season downpours. Howler monkeys can be heard in the trees on the surrounding hillsides. Don’t think twice! Villa #10 is amazing.

Beautiful Property

This property exceeded our expectations. It was perfect being close to the pool and beach with kids. You can’t beat the view from the patio. We were well taken care of by the staff, who assisted in booking excursions and getting us rides as we didn’t rent a car.

Amazing view and beautiful condominium

We had a wonderful time during our stay here. The condo is beautiful, roomy and comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The view is stunning and your private beach is just a few steps away. The beach club is right next door…great food and drinks and friendly staff. I can’t wait to stay here again!
