Families - This is your spot!

Casa Uno is absolutely lovely. The house has an authentic, charming feel to it. The beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, a number of spices, and some cooking appliances (including a blender for coffee). All of the bathrooms have been remodeled and are very accommodating. We loved the location and went between the beach and the pool when we weren’t exploring Guanacaste. The beach is calm, and we enjoyed snorkeling by the reef near the rocks. Ocotal Beach has many beautiful umbrella shade trees spread out along the coast, which was very welcoming for our family’s “SPOT.” Sergio showed us the “house beach toys” - snorkeling gear (including a few pairs of goggles, snorkels and fins), boogie boards, and a couple of chairs for the beach. At night, we either cooked at home, utilizing the grill, or went to Father Roosters for dinner. Having Father Rooster’s RIGHT NEXT DOOR was awesome! It is an “easy button” for tasty meals. The staff is super friendly and they were very patient with our attempts to speak Spanish with the help of a Google translator. They also speak and understand English 🙂. After dinner, we found ourselves on the porch conversing, engaging in games and reading books. Sergio and Liz were fantastic hosts. They answered all our questions, provided information about the area, and had great recommendations for things to do on our trip. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome!

Casa Uno was an absolutely fantastic place for our family of four. The home is incredibly spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you need, including a washer and dryer which made a big difference for us. You can tell Liz and Sergio have poured a lot of love and attention to detail into every part of the home. The plunge pool is perfect for cooling off, and the sunset views are simply stunning—something we looked forward to every evening.One of the best parts is the location. The beach is literally just steps out the back door, and the calm water makes it ideal for smaller kids to play safely. At night, the beach comes alive with sand crabs, which was such a fun and unique experience. Communication from the hosts was excellent from start to finish.The only “cons” really have nothing to do with the home itself, but more with visiting during Semana Santa. The beach was very crowded, and we had a few people wander onto the property thinking the steps led to public access. There was also a lot going on nearby—vendors calling out all day, extra foot traffic, and even some unexpected “lack of awareness” from people in the parking area next door. A few beachgoers also used the neighborhood pool when the beach got too full.That said, none of this reflects on the house or hosts. Despite being the first home in the community and seeing a bit more traffic, we always felt completely safe. Casa Uno is truly a special place, and we’d absolutely stay here again!

Liz and Sergio were wonderful hosts! The access to the beach was unbeatable!! The whole family enjoyed all of the amenities of the house; especially the plunge pool to cool off after the hot sun on the beach. The lanai was a favorite spot to play cards and have coffee each morning. Thank you for the hospitality!!

The place was comfortable with plenty of room for a family. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The house is right on the very excellent beach. It is a beautiful beach with interesting things to do for the children and adults alike. I would hundred percent stay there again and next time I would hope to bring my grandchildren. The bathrooms are well appointed, there are three in the house, so it is good for family vacations. Our first flight had a malfunction and we arrived a day later than expected and the hosts were understanding and supportive. The house was clean organized and had everything you needed 10 out of 10 no notes.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Playa Ocotal! It was nice to be just steps from the beach, and the calm water was perfect for our two-year-old granddaughter. The community pool was also nice. Groceries and dining options were a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again!

We had the most wonderful time at Liz and Sergio’s place. Our flight was delayed by a day, and they offered us a free day in place of that, even though one member stated that first day! Sergio (the propert manager) and the property were amazing

If you are choosing thus propert for your stay, you are getting an amazing value. The place is right on the beach which is amazing. The house is aging a bit, but you can tell there is a lot of love in this house. Its very well cared for. Sergio, the property manager is probably one of the kindest humans I have ever met. He such a caring soul. He makes sure that you feel welcome and helps you understand the property details well. After talking with him it really puts you in that Costa Rica vibe of a country that is all about pura vida! We couldnt have asked for a better stay. Thx for everything Liz and Sergio. We truly enjoyed the property and your kindess as well.

Grandmother, Daughter, Grandaughter retreat.

Wonderful stay in lovely Casa Uno on Ocotal Beach. Enjoyed the beautiful trees with birds, squirrels, iguanas keeping us entertained. Perfect three bedroom three bath home for us to spread out and enjoy nature. Being that it was the low season, we had the pool above our unit to ourselves as well as plenty of room on the beach to lie under a shade tree. The house had everything we needed and was in good repair. The owner hosts were amazing and communicated well before and during our visit.

A perfect home away from home

We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Uno. We enjoyed father roosters, the sunsets, the tide pools, and the warm, calm waters! All of the pools are enjoyable and in very well condition. Sergio was phenomenal and so was Liz. The condo came equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen and the bedrooms. It even has some snorkel gear. We saw a lot of birds, lizards and monkeys at the condo. Our family of 6 were very comfortable. We would love to return someday!! Thank you Sergio and Liz!!

Relaxing Family Stay

Beautiful and well maintained property. Beach is accessible right from the back yard. Although it is a public beach, it felt like a private beach as there were not many people there. Right next to a great restaurant and 10 minute drive to Coco beach area where there are lots of options for dining/shopping. Check-in/out was great with attentive property manager, Sergio.

Everyone was very helpful!!! Great location-right on the beach. You have your own private pool. Liz was always quick to respond to my questions and inform me about things to do. She recommended Marlin Rayado for a fishing guide. They didn't disappoint!!! We charted with them for 2 days with one of the days ending with an bbq on a beach-awesome organization and food was out of this world!!!

This property was exactly as advertised, right on the beach - snorkeling was phenomenal. Easy access to town. Sergio showed us everything we needed to know about the house upon our arrival and made us feel welcome and at home! We went to Diamanté adventure tours which we highly recommend! Very easy to get to. This was our 2nd stay here and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back or refer our friends to stay here as well. Puravida!

Our stay at Casa Uno was great! The casa was spacious for our family of four and had everything we needed including our own dipping pool! The beds/sheets were so comfy and the bathrooms were fantastic. Sergio (the resort manager) greeted us with Costa Rican warmth and made us feel welcome. There is a wonderful restaurant within walking distance (Father Rooster's). and the casa is within steps to the beach and beautiful lava rock tidal pools. Also, Coco Beach is a short cab ride. Our host, Liz, was super responsive and even offered us to stay an additional night at Casa Uno when our outgoing flight was canceled. Highly recommend Casa Uno!

Beautiful Beachfront Home

We stayed at Casa Uno for 8 days. It is even nicer than the photos show. It feels larger than we expected and had everything we needed for a great stay. We hope to be back!
