Fantastic Value and Location

Me and my fiance had a great time on our trip! Out of all the places we’ve stayed on 30A, this was the best bang for our buck and value. Perfect location, gorgeous neighborhood, short walk to the beach from the community pool, we will definitely stay again!

Perfect Cottage for 6

My husband and I stayed here with our teen daughter and her three friends and it was the perfect layout for us! Master on the main floor with the other 2 bedrooms up with plenty of space for the girls. The neighborhood is great and the bikes are a must! It’s a well equipped property with plenty of dishes and cookware. I would recommend the management company to provide more trash liners than the existing one in the kitchen - we needed to change the trash bag mid-week and didn’t realize there were none below the sink. Minor issue!! We really enjoyed our time in the area!

Family beach Thanksgiving

We stayed as a single family with two small children for the week of Thanksgiving. The kids enjoyed the kids bunk room and the large tub in the kid bathroom. They also enjoyed daily porch swings on the bed swing, on the screened porch. The kitchen is well equipped and the oven cooked a perfect Turkey. We enjoyed our neighborhood walks and the convince of having private beach access. We love this neighborhood and have stayed in the past and will continue coming and spending time with family here, highly recommend!

WOW! THIS HOUSE WAS PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY VACATION!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this property! The description on VRBO was spot on and there were no surprises during our stay. The neighborhood is gated and super quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. Yet it's close enough to anything that you would need. Having 4 bikes included with the property is a very nice touch, and we preferred them over a golf cart. The state-of-the-art kitchen was unbelievable and had everything you could possibly need. The outdoor gas grill was also much nicer than what I was expecting. Having 2 king beds in a 3-bedroom property is also a rare find based on my search in this area. The management company was responsive, pleasant, and helpful. This place is 10 out of 10! I would highly recommend it and plan to go back next year!! Oh, and the swing in the sunroom was the icing on the cake!!!

Missed Opportunity

Porch lights were turned off for check in - very dark entrance. Vacuum broken and was needed for cleaning the floors upon arrival. Three piles of dirt were collected and a vacuum had to be borrowed the next day. Tissues and Kleenex not included. No soaps were included even as a starter. Downstairs master sink was very slow to drain. Toilet in the bathroom adjacent to bunk room was not cleaned properly. Bed in Master was not very comfortable. Disappointing in such a beautiful neighborhood.

Beautiful home in Watersound!

We went down to Watersound for my birthday weekend with another couple and had a wonderful time at this house! It is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a beach retreat. Check-in was easy, and even though the hot water nozzle had somehow popped off, the property manager was there at 9am the next day to put it back on for us. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking pans/utensils, and it's all Viking appliances! There are also two beach chairs to take to the beach, which we loved. It was a great little escape for us. Thank you so much for opening your house to us!

Pretty Nice but needs some love

Good property but it need some love. First, advertised high-end appliances were a miss. No ice maker or ice trays provided, dish washer door falls to the floor when opened, clothes dryer quit the morning of checkout full of clothes. Sand was found on counter tops and in the MBR bed. Mgmt company had new linens sent over. There were also towel holders pulling out of the wall and the upstairs tub did not have a stopper. A previous review addresses that tub. Could have been a home run, instead it was a long single. Would stay there again if repairs were made.

Great house and great location, but needs some attention and a new management company

This house is wonderful, but desperately needs some minor repairs and a deep cleaning. Overall this house is great! AMAZING neighborhood and amenities. My problem mainly lies with the management company, Real Joy. They were horrible to deal with! When we arrived the house was filthy and appeared that someone had been in there after it was cleaned. We found dental floss on the bathroom floor, trash in several of the trash cans, dirty floors (so bad the bottoms of our feet were black), dirty toilets and hair all over the bathrooms, dirty towels, etc. I called the rental company to report it and they sent someone out to inspect when we weren’t there and that person apparently decided it wasn’t dirty enough to re-clean. But during the whole ordeal the people answering phones at the rental company were telling me they were trying to find someone to come clean it. They ended up telling me they wouldn’t be able to get it cleaned that evening, so it would be first thing the next morning. So we had to sleep in a dirty house, questioning if the sheets were even clean. The next morning the cleaners never showed. I eventually had to call and get pretty upset and demand that they have the property manager call me. Once I sent her pictures of the filth she apologized and sent cleaners out. After that everything was better but we were still missing simple things like mattress protectors on the bed. Even after being cleaned the house is still in need of some TLC. There is much more dirt and filth that the average cleaning won’t take care of... dirty baseboard and tile and things like that. There’s also several repairs that need to be made. There’s water spots on the ceiling from a leak, a dishwasher that’s nasty and on it’s last leg, broken toilet paper holders, busted screens on the porch, a missing door in the bathroom, a couch that’s worn out and needs replaced, etc. This house has so much potential! It’s new, modern and has so much to offer. It just needs some minor repairs to get it back up to where it needs to be. I hope the owners realize how much the rental company is letting it go and not caring for it after rentals. Besides the house, the neighborhood is perfect! It’s quiet and charming and has a great location. The community pool is also amazing!

The property was gorgeous. I would definitely return....

I loved the wooded areas, gave the feel of privacy between the cottages. Walking on the boardwalks were beautiful scenery as well. We biked daily on the property, I highly recommend that. Community pool was so nice. I will definitely book my next vacation here and stay for 2 weeks instead.

Nice neighborhood. Home has need for attention. Mold on the patio cushions and the exterior paint.

Would not recommend. HVAC engineer had to be called out twice. House was 67 degrees and unable to warm. No food pantry so your food is out for all to see. Dishwasher uneven and shelves constantly rolling forward. Second floor soaker tub is not tied to plumbing for the overflow valve. Overflow flows directly onto the bathroom floor. TV in second bedroom did not work.

Captains Cottage was one of the nicest properties we have rented .Beautifully maaintained!

Watersound was lovely and quieter than many other developments..some construction but not on our street ,Beach and pool were outstanding,very impressed and can't wait to return.

Return trip! Love this home and community!

The house is very clean and cozy, has everything our family needs for a relaxing stay. The community is friendly, safe and very quiet. The screened in porch with swing is a dream - spent many mornings and afternoons out there reading a book. There are a few downsides: the walk to the beach is long but worth it since it's practically a private beach; the appliances in the house are terrible, the fridge is not very cold; and the cleanliness of the home is lacking in a few areas but not enough to warrant a maintenance call just a slight bother. No place is perfect but this is pretty darn close! We will be coming back again!
