I can’t say enough good things about Mellow Yellow. It was perfect for my family of 5. It was a 3 minute walk to the beach and a quick car ride from Seaside, so the location was great and made for a perfect vacation for me and my family.

First time being sadly disappointed with a VRBO rental. This place has so much potential, if there was a little upkeep, deep cleaning and maintenance. Let me start with the positives of our stay at Mellow Yellow. The location is amazing, very short walk to the beautiful beach and the bikes were a nice addition to the home. The beds were very comfortable. They even had very nice marketing gifts…tumblers to keep. The unpleasant part started with the upkeep of the home. The yard is overgrown and not maintained. Upon opening the front door, you’re met with an overwhelming smell of chemicals attempting to cover the musty smell. Living room furniture and carpets are filthy, shower has permanent mold. Master bathroom had missing towel bar, cracked shower door at the bottom, front door didn’t seal properly, my husband believes it isn’t meant for that particular door frame. There really were too many items that need attention to list. Televisions were not user friendly. It is worthy to mention the management company offered to come over to determine the smell, but couldn’t guarantee anything. We chose to make the best of our stay and forgo this because of it being the busy season.

Great location. Master bed was comfortable and was great having a pool, but the proximity to the beach was the best thing about the home. We would stay here again.

Perfect location

Mellow yellow was a dream. The distance to beach was perfect, as well as the distance to other beaches. We enjoyed the bikes and the pool and grill as well. Easy check in and easy access for the family to come and go to the beach.

Perfect Beach Vacation!

My whole family (my parents, husband, and 2 kids under 3) stayed at this house. It was perfect!! We loved how close we were to the beach, the house fit us all comfortably, and the sidewalks outside were perfect for teaching my 3 year old how to ride a bike. We loved this house and can’t wait to come back!

Exceeded our expectations

I always read reviews online, so I felt confident with our booking going into this trip. I did not realize how much the house/neighborhood/area would exceed our expectations. Everything was very clean and stocked with exactly what it is listed to provide. The neighborhood felt very safe and was centrally located between all the fun things running down both sides of 30A. Our only regret from this trip was not vacationing here sooner with our kids.

Family Beach Vacation

Great location. Easy 3-5 min walk to the beach. Full kitchen which made it possible to cook and enjoy meals as a family. Property manager was communicative and able to assist with any needs promptly.

Relaxing Stay

Great house beautiful area, we had a great stay, clean and organized, plenty of rooms to sleep and beds were comfortable. TV took a bit to understand how to use and looked like there was a stereo with speakers around the house but couldn't get it to work. We enjoyed the bikes, pool was a perfect size. Wish there was some beach chairs to utilize. Also we liked sitting on the porches but wish there was some cushioned outdoor seating.

Great location

Can't really beat the location. The inside is a bit dated and could use some updates. Pool is quite small, so do keep that in mind. Overall, good place to stay with family/ and or friends.

Labor Day Stay at Mellow Yellow

We stayed at Mellow Yellow for our annual Beach Getaway with a group of college friends and our kids. This house was perfect! Most of our group had never experienced 30A before, so this was the perfect spot right in the middle of everything. The beach access was right across the street, making it incredibly easy for us to have awesome beach days. The patio pool was the perfect size for hanging out, especially with little kids. We would 10/10 recommend and stay here again!

Great trip!

Loved the proximity to the beach and to downtown Seaside. The pool got a little foggy due to the rain one night- property manager sent someone out same day to shock it. Overall it was a perfect week!

Perfect Getaway in a perfect location

Mellow Yellow was the perfect getaway for two couples! Can't beat the three minute walk to the public beach, and the pool was a perfect way to cool off at the end of the day. Location is great, close to nearby stores and shops, not to mention the supplied bikes were a perfect way to explore 30A! Highlight of the house was stargazing from the 3rd story crow's nest.

Beautiful house in a great location

The house was absolutely perfect for our trip! It was in a great location. The kitchen was stocked well enough to suit our needs. We enjoyed the extras made available like the beach chairs and bikes. The property manager was very responsive to one minor problem. Overall a great place to stay!

Overall good

Our stay at the mellow yellow was what we expected. Very clean and easy to get to beach. The only issue was that the bedding was cheap and there were not enough blankets. However, we will be going back next year.

30A Fun

Mellow Yellow was a great home to relax and enjoy the beaches along 30A. It’s a short walk to the sandy beach and perfectly positioned between Seaside and the Hub. The local Publix was minutes away and dinning out options were a short bike ride too. The layout of the house worked great for our group. We spent our days at the beach and our evenings enjoying the local spots. Grilling out one evening for dinner was a nice way to stay in and relax as well.

Good stay, details to help families decide!

Overall, we had a great stay. Pros: 1) Clean, cute house close walking distance to a beautiful beach. Home had plenty of space for our family of five (with three young boys) and my parents, who accompanied us. 2) Loved the bikes. Husband and I got a brief “date” in and bike rode to Seaside. It was fun! 3)Beds were comfortable! We all slept well. 4) Oversee (rental property management company) was very responsive when we called with questions/concerns. Would certainly rent from them again. Cons: 1) We paid for a heated pool since we were going in April. That was WISE because high temps were low to mid 70s the whole time. BUT.... it took like 5 days to get the pool heater to work. Oversee did refund me my pool heating charge (which I appreciated), but we were disappointed because we chose mellow yellow in part due to the option of having a heated pool. That did not work out for us. 2) The house is in need of some minor TLC. I was cooking one night and pulled out a drawer to get a spoon and the entire face of the drawer just pulled right off! They are cheaply made cabinets, it appears... and that was rather shocking. We had to cover the drawer with duct tape for the duration of our stay so the nails didn’t poke our children. I think Oversee was going to fix it as soon as we left. Also, the thresholds between rooms with carpet and hard flooring need attention. With bare feet, we got stabbed as we walked over them. It seems the carpet has thinned in those areas and the tacks are popping through. Adding new wood thresholds or something might help! 2) The front door needs a way to lock it from the inside. While this might only be a concern for families with young kids, we were constantly battling my 2 year old to keep him from running to the street! There was NO lock option from the inside and there was a very easy to open door handle, so families with toddlers, beware... you will have to barricade the door with furniture or something or risk your kid running out. This was a big hassle for us. 3) With covid, we did a lot of cooking in. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, but if the owners would add another baking sheet or two, that would be so helpful! We really had to get creative because there was only one small baking sheet and one medium size skillet. There were two small skillets also. But it made cooking for 7 somewhat challenging. 4) I was surprised by the rusty trailer next door. Not fun to look at from the pool.
