Nothing but great things to say about our stay. From the moment that we arrived, Joaquin made us feel like family what he has done on the property is nothing short of amazing. Property was easy to find. The gardens are beautiful. The flowers are incredible. The pool was fantastic. The whole place was so calming and serene, and incredibly clean. With the most beautiful views. Absolute paradise! Joaquin was the best host, he made us feel like family. His dog Pepe was most hospitable as well. I swear we’ve known him for years, but we’d only met that day. He’s very knowledgeable and helped us navigate our trip. He even taught us salsa dancing! I would plan another trip just to visit him and his property again.

One of the things I liked most was its location; you're really close to everything. The room was super clean, and Joaquin was very kind and helpful. The hotel has a very beautiful view; you can see all of San Juan, and its garden is very nice with many varieties of flowers and plants.

This little hotel perched on a hillside and enveloped in lush plant life is a delight to the senses. Joaquin, the owner, and his sidekick, Pepe the dog, are a delight as well! The welcome is so enthusiastic you feel like you are already friends. The rooms are nice enough for sleeping and showering, but the rest of the time you want to be relaxing in one of the many special nooks offered - by the pool, on a little side porch, on the balcony to see the sunset, or among the orchids the proliferate on the grounds- the house is open for all to enjoy. A highlight of our first trip to Puerto Rico!

A beautiful, nature-immersed property with a true retreat feel. Lush plants, flowers, and jungle surroundings, along with a stunning pool area and multiple outdoor tables, made it a peaceful and inspiring place to relax, work, and enjoy the view—and Pepe the dog was a lovely touch. That said, this is not a traditional hotel; it’s a more self-managed, Airbnb-style stay with no staff or daily service. While the environment is exceptional, some comfort details could be improved (bed quality, noisy AC, and doors). Ideal for guests seeking nature and quiet over hotel amenities.

This is going to visit your old relative like experience. 💯% satisfactory experience, a taste of the amazon jungle without the long trip to a non US country territory. The beauty of the landscaping and scenery is simply breathtaking. Highly recommend. Thank me later! :-)

The property was amazing. The property owner was attentive and had such good communication in making sure we arrived ok. He built this place and did the landscaping which is an added feature to the stay. If you Love the mountains and beautiful plants stay here🌴 We had a situation that required a doctor order and x-rays. He was so very helpful❤️ Would go back in a heartbeat❤️ Loved the dog also Peppe Thanks again for a great stay❤️

We loved our host! Our host was very knowledgeable of the area and in general, and would send location pins or give ideas about where to go if needed. The place was beautiful and quiet if you're looking for a couple's getaway. Everything was easy to get to. Airport is 30 min away. Shopping centers and eating places are close by, but need your own transportation to travel. Overall it was a great vacation stay and we will definitely be back!

Joaquín is one of the most personable hosts I've met and so gracious to share this oasis with travelers. Located just a few minutes from a small town with plenty of dining options, you get the feeling you're part of the rainforest while being treated to views of San Juan and the ocean. The property is LUSH so if nature is your thing you will love it! I found it through a birding group and was not disappointed in the amount and variety of birds I saw there. San Juan was about a 30-40 minute drive depending on traffic and the eastern beaches were also about that far. El Yunque is literally up the road offering jaw-dropping views of waterfalls and rock formations. It feels like dinosaurs will walk out at any moment! There is also a little supermercado up the street which has a deli and offers a variety of snacks and drinks. There is a common area with coffee maker, tea, and communal fridge and rooms have their own fridge also so you can stock up before stores close at night. The front gate stays locked and guests have their own keys to come and go as they wish while everyone feels safe, not that I ever felt unsafe anywhere in that area. This would be a great spot for a small birding group to travel or a family gathering. If you want hustle and bustle with glaring lights and noise then you'll probably be disappointed, although Joaquín DOES do salsa lessons and it gets lively lol I would definitely stay here again!

Jungle Paradise

If you want seclusion with breathtaking views this is the place for you. The nature around the room is heavenly and the frogs will sing you to sleep each night. The pool area is gorgeous and the pool was so refreshing. This is the perfect location to unplug. We did have cell service available using Spectrum Mobile. You definitely will want a car to stay at this location. I also recommend bringing snacks and drinks because there are no stores close by. There is a small refrigerator with a very small freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee maker in the small kitchen. Dishes and glasses as well as dish soap and a sponge are available for use. The bathroom and shower are spacious. You have the option of fresh air or air conditioning. There will be rain showers on and off due to the climate, so have rain gear and water shoes if you plan to hike in the area. There is an indoor table and chairs as well as outdoor eating areas around the pool. Our host Joaquin gave us numerous suggestions for hikes, beaches and restaurants in the area. He also taught us a great deal about the plants and wildlife in the area. This place is a true gem and Joaquin truly made the experience amazing. His dog Pepe was a delight and very friendly too. We hope to return in the future to this jungle paradise. This was the highlight of our stay in Puerto Rico. Thank you Joaquin and Pepe for your excellent hospitality!

This is the most beautiful and relaxing place we have EVER stayed. With Joaquin’s directions it was very easy to find using Google maps and the pic he sent of the front gate let us know we were definitely in the right spot. We arrived after dark and were able to get there without any issues, the roads are steep and narrow but very manageable. Waking up to the breathtaking views was amazing, we knew it would be amazing but had no idea how amazing it would be. Joaquin’s landscaping skills and love for flowers was showcased everywhere you look. He was a well of knowledge about Puerto Rico and was very fun to talk to. Pepe, his dog, was extremely friendly and pleasure to have around being that we are animal lovers. We felt right at home and will be trying to find a time to come back to visit as soon as possible. Thank you Joaquin for the wonderful experience and hospitality!!

This was by far my favorite place to stay in all of Puerto Rico. If you want to be emerged in the rainforest but still stay in a clean room with all the amenities that feels like home this is where you should stay. It doesn't get any more beautiful or tranquil than this. The owner Joaquin has created such a special place and works so hard to keep it looking pristine to be able to share this hidden gem with as many people as he can. I feel blessed to have stayed there and to have met Joaquin as well.
