The host Matt A. was awesome to work with and so accommodating with all of our requests and changes. Maria Luisa, the property manager was also super responsive to any issues that came up during our stay. As to the property, it's a great location and beautifully kept property. We booked this location twice now and wish we could have booked a third time but it was already reserved. If you're looking for a great location that's clean and well kept look no further.

Outstanding location, 270 degree views of sea of cortez

Excellent property, outstanding location. Clean property, every detail was taken care of, Beautiful landscape, very very relaxing, calm, peaceful and safe location.Need additional maintenance (lock for back entrance, cassita number lock, cassita window hinge broken, cassita faucet handle missing, spa light needs fixing, fire place glows one side hot and the other side does not fire up, noisy cassita fan, kitchen utensils needs to be refreshed, looks very used and old).It would be nice if the second floor masterbed had a ceiling fan, though a pedestal fan was provided.Would love to come back again

HACIENDA DEL MAR

Awesome place! Would definitely come back. Best value I could find in CABO. Short walk to a great beach, which is basically your own private beach, hardly saw any other people there.Pool was amazing, view is amazing. The pictures don’t show the showers, which are old, but Very Mexican authentic, huge showers, very cool. The location is also perfect right near FRESCA and pharmacy if you need to go.Make sure you request ELBA to do tacos and guacamole, best Mexican food I have ever had in my life.

Amazing views

Overall the house was amazing! So much of our time was spent on the patio and pool area! Coming from the east coast and moving to Arizona I didn’t realize how much I missed seeing the ocean. There was plenty of room inside the house and the kitchen was well equipped. The house was spotless which is very important to me! The only con was the outdoor furniture on the upper level could definitely used some updating. The property manager María was available any time we had questions and the personal chef Elba was definitely an excellent cook. We hired her to supply us snacks the day we arrived and she went overboard with the food she prepared. We had Elba cook dinner for us on night and everything she prepared was absolutely delicious! I would definitely love to go back to Hacienda Del Mar again!

Winter Vacation

Absolutely fantastic property. The view from the patio and pool is amazing. Was wondering to stare out over the infinity edge of pool and watch the whales breaching. The owner and manager were wonderful to deal with and very accommodating. Just be aware - there are lots of stairs. The height of the property help the view to be so great, but there are lots of stairs. Wasn't a problem for us. We will be back.

Perfect family vacation

Usually rental listings are like resumes, you expect and accept a certain degree of puffery. Not so with Hacienda del Mar. If anything, the listing did not do the property justice. The house and casita were perfect for our party of 8. Matt, the owner, and Maria, the property manager, were very responsive, both in advance of our visit to help us plan, and during the visit as needed. Everything necessary was provided and there is a great grocery very close by. I hope to have the chance to stay here again.

Christmas vacation

House was great. Our concierge was helpful. Although trying to make a call out local we could never figure out on cell phone or house phone. It’s quite the trek down to the beach so that’s a workout going down and up but beach is nice. Not best for swimming but very private. House is nice and quiet and Matt was also very helpful. Definitely had everything we needed.

Very enjoyable stay

Overall the house was great - plenty of room inside and outside. The pool and hot tub were very nice and the views were awesome! The beds were comfortable and house was extremely clean. We loved the nearby private beach. Some of the kitchen appliances were a little dated (dishwasher did not work well and oven only had one rack and had to be manually lit). The pool lounge chairs were not that comfortable. This is a beautiful property, at a high price level, and these improvements are hopefully easy to remedy to keep the house at its best.

Sisters and Husbands vacation

We were a group of 6 and had a wonderful stay. We ended up having to change our flights due to hurricane Norma so arrived 2 days later than planned. Matt was very understanding and refunded us for the two nights we missed. The power had not been restored so our first night and part of the day we were without power but the generator provided some electricity. Matt was very kind and issued a refund for that night as well. The home is very comfortable and the view is spectacular! We loved our daily walks on the beach below and cooling off in the pool while looking out over the beach below. Great location in that it is a quick trip to Fresko for any grocery items needed. Also very quick access to the highway for any road trips. We had chef Elba come and cook for us one evening! Lovely woman and delicious food and drink. Matt and Maria Luisa were very quick to respond to any requests and or questions we had. Would definitely stay again!

Location, location, location

Pros: As described, this house and the infinity pool overlook the sea, which you can stare at for hours. Driving down to the beach is easy as well. The location is tranquil and from here it is easy to get to San Jose and Cabos. Cons: The outdoor furniture shows its age. Indoor is desperately in need of some repairs (e.g., broken faucets, poorly operating fridge) and updates to the kitchen. It would have been nice to have a larger supply of hand and body soap, as that ran out quickly. An extra set of towels would have been nice as well. Bonus: Elba the chef was magnificient! Overall: It's all about the outdoors and view here. There, you can't go wrong.

Fabulous time at Hacienda del Mar!

Our group of 7 had a wonderful stay at Hacienda del Mar! As noted by almost every other reviewer, there's an absolutely stunning view of the ocean which we couldn't get enough of. The property has lots of outdoor space for relaxation. We enjoyed evening happy hours on the patio after spending the day in the lovely pool (which is where we spent most of our time because it was HOT!). The neighborhood is very quiet and the house is not far from the beach. The kitchen is well-stocked for making meals. We had Elba come cook for us one evening and she made an incredible meal - highly recommend! Maria, the property manager, was great and responded promptly to some questions we had. We hope to return!

Lovely neighborhood ~ Hilltop view of the Ocean

Our family group of 7 enjoyed our stay at this pretty property with outstanding ocean views. The main house was a great fit for 5 adult children and the Casita below afforded Mom and Dad quiet time to hang out on their own when we wanted it. Property is a hike to the beach, which we came to enjoy, along with our morning coffee and very quiet beach walks. Our adult children loved the pool /jaccuzi. We highly recommend lunch at Flora Farms (a must see for culinary and floral lovers), shopping in San Jose Del Cabo downtown, and ATV tour for the kids. Thank you!

Get a workout and relax in Ranch Cerro Colorado

Overall, the property is as advertised and shown in the pictures. Warning for older folks, physically impaired, folks who like to drink too much and young people - there are a lot of stairs. More than show up in the pictures. Also, the hike down to the beach is easy. The hike back up - not so much. It's easier to take your car to another local beach. Property owner and property manager easy to communicate with. Beds very comfortable. Furniture is sparse. Pool lounge chairs inexpensive, but in good shape. Pool area needs small tables between lounge chairs and needs 1 more umbrella for opposite side (for larger groups). Pool and spa work fine. Pool tile and coping requires maintenance. Pool is only 4 foot deep so NO DIVING. Kids may jump in and out, but only kids. Pool toys and beach toys are sparse. There are a few beach chairs and umbrellas. Games in the house need to be replaced. We tried to play a few but pieces were missing. Could also use a few more books. TV's have streaming services only. Outdoor BBQ clean but lacks cooking power, even with all burners going. Kitchen well equipped. The cabinets are old and need to be replaced. There are a few plastic glasses for outdoors but could use more. Provided towels are nice and extras plentiful. Washer and dryer work well. Main house 1st floor primary bedroom cannot be accessed from the main house. It has separate entrance from wrap around patio. Casita requires going down (and then back up) many stairs. Great for privacy for variety of couples who prefer that. In fact, I'd say the house is perfect for two or three couples with 2 to 4 kids. But watch the kids with all those stairs. We had a private chef one night and she was wonderful, and considering the price of eating out these days in Cabo, quite affordable. Baths we used had large step in showers and decent water pressure and very hot water if you like that. We did not need the A/C at all during our stay in late March 2023, so cannot comment on those. Good value for the $$, especially for multiple couples (in good shape!).

Beautiful house

Spent a week with a group of friends and enjoyed all the house had to offer. Plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the outdoors. House is true to photos. Would recommend a rental car as you needed to drive to everything. Beautiful views and we loved all the whales in the bay. The pool/hot tub was a bit finicky at times but the property manager was very helpful in addressing any issues.

Incredible Family Vacation!!

Where do I start?? From the moment we drove up to this property we knew it was going to be an amazing month. The manager Maria was there to meet us, and walk us through the home and property. Everything has been taken into consideration for guests to have a lovely time. The views are just breathtaking from every window/door and bedroom in this home. I walked the entire community, and this is by far the best location as it has straight on views of the bay, and a 180 degree view of the ocean, and the terraced homes. We watched whales every single day- it was absolutely amazing seeing them play and breach out of the water and slap their tales! Just incredible! We slept with the deck doors open every night listening to the waves crash below. It was wonderful. The pool and hot tub were perfect...especially the infinity edge. So nice to just hang out there looking out over the beautiful yard and view. The beach below is so beautiful! Comparable to any of the ones we were on in Maui. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is soft and white. Each time we were down there, we basically had it to ourselves. I am so happy that we picked this place to spend quality time with our family. It was the perfect place to explore both towns from too. We definitely prefer San Jose, and really enjoyed the art walk. I couldn't think of anything to make this place better. Thank you Matt for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. We hope to come back next year!!

Incredible home

We brought our family, 6 adults and our 10 month old granddaughter and we had a fabulous time. The house was as described and everything was clean and stocked. Maria was excellent and we hired Elba as our chef for most meals and she was the best....

Hacienda Del Mar is a fantastic property...!!!

From the moment we booked the property with Matt thru our stay, the entire process was fantastic. We are frequent VRBO renters and this was another wonderful experience. The property is everything as advertised and more. The views, the pool, the interior and exterior of the hacienda, and the grounds with flowers and fruit trees truly made this a stunning experience. The communications with Maria Luisa and Gabriella upon arrival were excellent. The location is very close to San Jose Del Cabo and a short distance to Cabo San Lucas, both of which offer many different activities. We are extremely happy we selected this property and 100% intend on visiting again. Thank you Matt, Maria Luisa, and Gabriella for making our trip a memorable experience.

Amazing views

Amazing views with large patio and nice size pool! House was nice with spacious rooms. It also has a nice casita (we didn’t use because there was only 2 couples). Large kitchen. We had housekeeper there halfway through our 10 day stay and she did a great job! We have stayed at a few other villas in this neighborhood and it is very safe! Would stay again!

Family Trip

This property is beautiful! The house itself was lovely. The kitchen was well stocked. The view was unbelievable. We would sit out on the patio or in the infinity pool and watch the whales. It was really a special property and we would definitely go back.

Wonderful Stay

Our family had a wonderful time at this property, everything was above expectations start to finish. We hired a private chef, facilitated by the property manager, for our first night--worth every penny. We made wonderful memories with our family and hope to return.
