Great week at La Jolla. Our unit had a fabulous view of the ocean. Unit was very clean, bed was very comfortable, had all the conveniences we needed (beach towels, beach chairs, cooler). Communication with the owner was fabulous. He was very quick to reply to any questions we had. The grounds at La Jolla are absolutely stunning!!! We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our host, Larry, was very accommodating and quick to address any concerns. When we received water refills from the HOA office, the necks of the bottles were a bit different than the earlier ones, so the screw on pump did not fit. He immediately sent over his property manager to provide us with a new one. The location is great, and people in the complex very friendly. The suite could use some updates, but I understand those will be addressed.

The Good: Perfect location steps from pools & beach. Walking distance to good restaurants. Excellent owner communication. Easy access at arrival. Grounds & pools are beautiful and perfectly maintained. Condo has the basics for making coffee & simple meals.The Less Great: Windowless bathroom fan doesn’t work. Shower drains slowly. Pull-out couch instructions in owner provided materials: “put the mattress on the floor because the pull out mechanism has problems”. Owner-provided instructions & local resource information is out of date - shops & restaurants listed are no longer there. The A/C works well, but set off my allergies so I’m wondering if there’s a filter that needs to be cleaned/replaced? A few updates & some maintenance work would make this simple condo go from 4 to 5 stars.
Adult pool isn’t heated but is super clean & refreshing.

Easy check in , straight forward. The condo property is very well maintained and manicured. Nice walks on beach and adventurous entry and exits for ocean swims. Convenient to airport. Unit is fairly priced. It’s an OG- clean, no frills, simple hotel room/studio vibe from the 80’s with options to prepare simple meals if you want to hang out.

Peaceful retreat

Last-minute solo getaway that turned out to be exactly what I needed. He was able to accommodate me within 24 hours, and the condo had everything I needed—and more. From breathtaking sunrises and miles of beautiful beaches to great food just a short walk away, everything about the stay was effortless. The area was quiet and peaceful, and the patio became my favorite spot for meditating while listening to the waves. The pool was a relaxing bonus. Truly the perfect escape

Cute studio with everything you need. Beach out front was beautiful but not swimmable when we stayed. We went to the locals beach Chileno Bay, which was fabulous and full of fish.

Time to relax

We needed some time to get away from winter and relax. This unit has a wonderful patio and faces the ocean and the gardens at La Jolla. We appreciated the new appliances and the new bed. Each morning we started with a view of the sunrise and an early morning swim in the pool. Many thanks!

This place had a GREAT location! The pools were great and beach is so close. I loved drinking my morning coffee looking out at the beach. However it says it sleeps four, while that is somewhat accurate. It does sleep four. One or two nights would be fine. We booked two weeks and the four on is broken so we had to pull the mattress onto the hard floor and who wants to have a crappy sleep on their holiday. The beds were horrible! And there is no wifi in the suite. If you want to send a text you have to walk to the pool. If those things don’t bother you then the suite is fine. I felt like we made the best of it but my husband and I both spend time sleeping on the floor during our vacation and that affected my rating. The pool isn’t great for kids either if they want to play catch with a ball or splash around security will shut it down immediately. No playing with a ball or horseplay. Swimming only.

Fabulous relaxation

Ticks all the boxes for wonderful beach relaxation. Location is fabulous and the property is wonderful - beautiful, clean & safe. If you need wifi, not your place- although it is available on the property. Everything you need is close by! I will be back.

Fabulous location

Perfect size for a couple. Great view and very close to pool and beach. One complaint: refrigerator couldn’t cool enough to keep milk from spoiling.

Great location

We have stayed here before in another unit which was beautiful. The condo grounds and location are excellent. The staff are always attending to the gardens, pool and cleaning. The people that own or rent are super friendly. The condo itself was neat but not clean and extremely outdated. The pillow cases were soiled, the cushions on the rickety chairs was also soiled. The place has things you need but probably from the dollar store, I would suggest you at least bring a good knife. It has a toaster oven and microwave but we didn't cook just reheated some leftover lunches. The shower is ok, it doesn't drain so you are in inches of water when taking a shower. The cabinets are original and the counter top also which is tile and peeling. There was no broom and only one garbage bag- so bring your own bags. The Wifi is very weak, and only outside a bit on the patio or around the pool. In todays world Wifi is so important. The patio has no umbrella so it gets hot outside when sitting out there, also the screen door is not working so very hard to open- needs to be fixed. Larry responded when we asked questions right away. This location is great and you can walk to a bunch of restaurants, we walked up the street everyday to the El Wine Shop which was also a coffee shop and it was the best. Has some great food options and also juices. It is easy to get to Cabo San Lucas on the bus and also if you don't want to walk to San Jose you can take the bus- both are not expensive. In San Jose- we found this amazing taco place called La Lupita - best tacos ever and live bands at night. If the place was updated a bit, organized (all cupboards just had stuff jammed into it) and refreshed some amenities it would be great. The couch is falling apart- so if you are thinking of sleeping on it- I don't think so - we didn't even sit on it. People say location location- and that is what this place is.

Great Location, condo not so great

I am giving 3 stars because this rental was a mix of great and bad things. The great: Location! You are literally steps from the beach and a great reataurant (on the beach too) called Mama mia which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, delicious and affordable. The property surrounds are quiet and very nice, you can hear the ocean and the birds for the most part and it is safe. One great thing about this condo is that you literally can enjoy the sunrise from the patio. So, every day I woke up at 6:30 am prepare myself a cofee and sat in the patio to see the sunshine! Now, the bad: Altough it was clean, the apartment is very outdated and not well mantained. To list some of the things: There is mold in the shower ceiling, the TV is still a CRT from the 90s, the curtain's rod was broken and put together with tape! So I had to be very careful when I open and close them. The towels are very old too and there were only 2, no shampoo, soap or any other thing . The AC is also extremely old and loud. The internet only works in the patio and it is very slow. To me the worst thing was the matress which had a plastic cover and you could also tell was old. Overall, I enjoyed my stay because of the location and because I spent most of the time outside the apartment. But it would had been nice if I could also enjoy the inside.

Supplies in condo

Property outside was extremely well maintained. Inside of condo was cleaned only in the middle. Dishes weren’t clean. No broom. Only 2 face cloths 3 face towels 3 bath towels and 2 beach towels. No dish cloths or Scrubber. Kitchen faucet leaks and sprays. Needs replacing. Archaic small tv. No umbrella for patio to protect from hot sun in mornings. Couch is falling apart in the middle underneath. Not enough hangers in bathroom for towels. Won’t return to this condo

Superb location on the beach at Costa Azul (San Jose del Cabo). Nice property, good pool, great beach. Condo had good selection of beach stuff to use. All appliances and furnishings were good.
