We enjoyed our stay at Tourmaline House. We got off to a rocky start because when we arrived I didn't realized that our Host had sent me an email with instructions about wfi. I thought the information would be on the VRBO site. We solved the issue with the help of VRBO and proceeded to have a lovely time. The home was clean, well stocked and a great location close to restaurants and the beach. The master bed was very comfortable and we had lots of towels. We encountered some issues with accessibility which were solved by the Host who asked her staff to make the back fence accessible. When I had a problem with the front door code, the Host came to my rescue and gave me a key which I really appreciated.

House was clean and well maintained, enough space for our family. Only suggestion is to bring the basic kitchen seasoning very limited other than salt and pepper.

A great stay!

We spent seven weeks in this comfortable and friendly house. It was nicely clean on arrival, well maintained and exactly right for our winter getaway from the north! Our two little dogs were happy in the back yard. The owner was very responsive when needed.

Great beach location

Nice house with a 10 minute walk to beach. Room enough for 3 adults and 3 children. Very comfortable and clean. Great location for beach, Belmont Park, Zoo, Old Town, Downtown. Close to shops and restaurants, all within walking distance. Would stay again.

Great place to stay

We enjoyed this 3 bedroom house with fenced in backyard. Plenty of room for family that visited for a cookout. A few used the bikes that were provided as well as the wagon to go to the beach with a young child. The location was convenient to walk to coffee shops and breakfast and the beach. I will look to stay at this location again.

Bring the Basics

Great location within walking distance of beach and several local restaurants. Disappointed with how some bare necessities were neglected. One bottle of shampoo between 2 bathrooms and 8 people. 2 washcloths and 7 towels provided. No beach towels. 2 bars of soap provided. 3 rolls of toilet paper. No trash bags large enough to replace the ones we took out. Basically had to shop for the “basics” after traveling across the country and expecting those amenities to be provided. Very disappointing. The kids mattresses need to be replaced as they were complaining about feeling springs in their backs. No cots available.

Taking our German Shepherds to Pacific Beach

Wonderful location. Great backyard for our two German Shepherds; All grass, no poison plants for dogs. One block from the beach. Never took the car out of the garage. Great restaurants, grocery store, beach, all within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed Pastiamos, The Fig Tree and The Hideaway.

Nice stay in prime location

The location is great. Very close to beach access. While on a main street, it is a bit down from the really busy part of Mission Blvd. The house has everything needed in the kitchen. Backyard was nice to have for the dogs. Owner was responsive when issues arose.

Walk everywhere.

Great location! Perfect for 2 couples. Quick walk, block and 1/2, to Tourmaline Surf Park. 2 blocks to specialty grocery store, Oscars incredible taco shop, good Hawaiian food. Walk to La Jolla. Beach gear provided a little worn. Comfy beds, plenty of room for 2 couples. Very busy road, noisy with windows open. Nice table, chairs, umbrella in back yard with gas BBQ.

Coveniently Located Cozy Home

This home is conveniently located near Tourmaline Beach (walking distance) as well as several restaurants and shops. The home is located on a busy street so be careful when backing out of the driveway especially when there are cars parked on the street that can obstruct your view. Also the driveway curb doesn't line up with the garage, so you'll have to park diagonally on the driveway. We found all of the items listed on the inventory list for the house in the garage, including boogie boards, wagons, beach chairs, etc. There is no air conditioning but it was a cooler weekend when we visited so we did not have any issues with temperature. The house has three bedrooms and one of the bedrooms has double bunk beds which are great for families with kids. There are two bathrooms (one in the master bedroom and one in the hallway). The property manager was responsive to our inquiries before and during our stay. The master bedroom bed was comfortable but the queen bed in the second bedroom was not quite as comfortable. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and would recommend this house if you're looking for a home that's located close to the beach and other amenities.

San Diego vacay

The owner of this property was very communicative and responsible of all of our requests. Unfortunately, the house is not as clean as we had hoped. Additionally when we did try to use the barbecue, it ran completely out of gas. The additional gas bottle left beside the barbecue was also empty.

Great house and awesome location!

Property was fantastic! Great location just blocks from Tourmaline Beach, restaurants and bars. House was very well appointed with everything that we needed for a 5 week stay. Backyard was great! Our host Juliana was great communicating with us and providing neighborhood recommendations. We would love to stay at this property again!!

Family holiday

We stayed for four nights. House is nice and clean. It seems to be close to everything. Our farthest drive was 20 minutes. Back yard was nice for the dogs. Would and probably will stay again.

Christmas Stay in San Diego Stay

Great little house

All you need in a great location. An actual stand-alone house with closed-off backyard - great for our pups. A little off location, so it's quiet, but not far off so that bars, restaurants, stores, beach are all in walkable distance (4-20 mins). And the fastest, nicest responding owner we ever had. Perfect getaway with great location

The location was perfect! The house was comfy, clean, and a nice completely fenced in yard for our yorkie. The owner was so nice and accommodating. We walked to the beach, town, and restaurants. We uber'd from there easily as well.

Close to everything

We enjoyed our stay at the tourmaline house. The house was clean, comfortable and homey. The young kids (21/2 year old twins) loved the backyard and eating outside. There were wagons in the garage that they rode in to the beach which is a very walkable distance. This house was close to everything. The location is great.

Family get together

Very new and nice interior. Very clean and comfortable. Garage will fit a Honda civic or similar. My F150 was too tall and big. Area is wonderful. The mission Blvd has city bus and traffic but fairly quiet considering its location on street. The beautiful bushes in yard block out the neighbors apartment building. Nice place to have morning coffee. Definitely a nice place. Had to check in late due to cleaning crew delay but we went to a local park for a few hours.

Perfect spot!

I live a few blocks away and family came to visit, knowing the area I can say that this is a prime spot! Away from the noise but close enough to walk anywhere you need. The proximity to the beach was great and more of a local beach rather than next to the pier with tourists. The space was comfy and perfect and we loved the backyard. Great space to play and hangout. Would definitely stay here again and the host was very responsive to questions and had wagons, beach toys, etc.
