The look of awe on our grandson’s face when he entered the condo was worth every penny we spent on the rental. And again when we slid the doors to the deck wide open. While the plane home was taxiing to the runway, I asked our grandson to rank our stay on a scale of 1-10. His response? A nine. I asked why not ten? He responded: “The only way it could be higher is if we had stayed longer.” When it rained, we played dominoes, did a jigsaw puzzle, read books, played games and sketched the view. Magnificent sunrises, sunsets, making sand structures, running on the beach, exploring, birdwatching - never a dull moment but every moment was a quiet inspiration. We hope to return. Immediate responses from the management. Beds were comfy, kitchen well-equipped, and the trundle bed in the living area was a magnet for naps, birdwatching and family cuddling.

This absolute gem of a place made our annual girls weekend so special! The view is unmatched, the beds are so comfortable with great bedding. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and serve meals. Communication was excellent and so easy. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Perfect beach location with the best patio to take in nightly sunsets, lots of opportunities for morning dolphin watching, incredible waves to body surf/boogie board and steps (less than 10) to the powdery sand of Mission Beach. It was the perfect spot for two families to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer.

Age old friends had wanted a beach getaway for a few days and this place was the PERFECT place to relax in a wonderful environment. We had everything we needed and nobody had a single complaint - just praise! Every sunset seemed like a dream. Do yourself a favor and stay here if you want an outstanding property with lots to enjoy right on the boardwalk.

The home was well stocked (kitchen / Bathrooms). The beds and main living area furniture was very comfortable. The only downside was the lack of window covering for the large sliding door which made the kitchen / living room very hot and bright during the late afternoon. Once the sun set, the area was amazing. The patio was very large and full of places to sit / lounge.

Great location and very nice place

Very happy with the location and views. The house was very nice, roomy, and had all the essentials. Unfortunately, the accordion doors didn’t work, gas grill was not working, TV in primary room was not hooked up to WiFi, and toy closet combination did not work. Called after check-in regarding the doors and rep said it was rusted and would not open. Called numerous times regarding gas grill on the second day with no response until I texted. Their response was to drop off a portable grill on the last night of the stay. We already had plans to go out for dinner the last night. Overall we still had a great time.

Family Vacation

We enjoyed a great family vacation at Mission Beach Penthouse! We enjoyed the the proximity to the beach, boardwalk, Fun Zone, and many local restaurants and shops. Parking vehicles was the hardest part of our vacation.

Family Vacation

The views and location were nothing short of amazing. Just a short walk to Belmont Park and of course the beach is basically your front yard. The glass front windows and deck rail made for open views at almost 180 degrees with a bonus view of the bay from the side deck. My husband and I had 4 teenagers with us and there was enough room for all of us. If I had a negative for our stay I would say there were a few maintenance issues that should be addressed. The cleaning people could do a better job with the floors and some extra towels in the kitchen would be great. It might be nice to take a look at the beach supplies as a handful were broken. These were all minor inconveniences and we would certainty stay here again.

Amazing waterfront location!

We would highly recommend this home. It could use some maintenance and extra cleaning. However these minor issues are easy to overlook with beautiful views from the living room and deck. This location is amazing and we would stay again.

Couldn't ask for a better location. Parking is tight if you have a large vehicle. The place is nice but needs a little TLC. I was a little disappointed not having cable TV, having only internet TV that you had to use apps. The internet was constantly buffering. All in all it was a good vacation.

Disappointing villa

First of all, it is not easy to find the front door, and the stairs are very narrow and steep. I was entertaining my older 80 years young parents We entered the villa to find out old, dirty sofas which I will not sit on. We found some blankets in the closet and cover them all. No rug on the floor like the picture suggested. Few decor or accessories, very plain. NOT LIKE THE WEBSITE The cleaning lady had cleaned the unit with a mix of pine soil or chloroform which left a terrible odor. The sliding doors to the balcony were impossible to open. The kitchen cabinets were run down. He stain was peeling. The master bedroom did not look like the photo online. It was very plain, no rug and old stained chairs. We overpaid for this unit as the other comparable unit around us with similar features were $500 less per day. We chose this unit thinking that the pictures will be accurate. It was a huge disappointment. The only reason i did not leave was because of my parents. It would have been too stressful for them to move to another location.

Amazing views, great location, needs a few small enhancements to feel luxurious

Overall very positive experience. We could see dolphins every day from the deck. Details below: Pros The View Location - 10-20 minutes to everything that isn’t in walking distance Car fit into garage with enough space to crawl out passenger side (not always true in mission beach area). Space. Large bedrooms, good size living room and kitchen. Spacious deck with ample furniture, actually had to move some to the side just to declutter Beach gear. It was great while our friends and kids were with us that we had beach chairs, toys, and boogie boards right there Check-in and out super easy We’ll-equipped kitchen Beach towels provided Cons Property manager was mostly responsive but inconsistent and not solution oriented. The first day we reported a “chirping” noise coming from the refrigerator. Over the next 7 days we exchanged a sporadic combination of emails and texts where the manager operated mostly as triage and not focusing on actually resolving the issue. At times I’d go days without hearing from them while the loud chirping drowned out the sounds of the waves - it was miserable. On day 7 the appliance guy helped us move the fridge and found the cricket, but the manager never confirmed or tied off with us. This whole thing was super frustrating. Maintenance can come and go as they please whether you are there or not, when communication from property manager isn’t great, this feels invasive Finishing touches - pocket doors in master not aligned and don’t slide smoothly. Glass door in master shower doesn’t align, therefore doesn’t close and bangs into the glass wall. Master bed could use topper like other beds in second bedroom Internet not great to the point where the living room tv is mostly unwatchable. It would repeatedly freeze and glitch and need to be restarted Suggestions Pay for higher tier internet unless spectrum is just that terrible Sweat the small stuff, have a contractor touch up the fit of the shower door and pocket doors, this takes away from the potential high end feel Communicate more directly and effectively and focus on solving the actual problem and confirming with the guest that they’re happy instead of simply triaging

We really liked our stay at this property. The view is just outstanding, and the property is set up to maximize your opportunities to take it in. Check-in and check-out were both straightforward, and the location is fantastic for taking advantage of the beach and very good for all other purposes.

Beautiful view!

We stayed here last year as well. We won’t be looking to stay anywhere else. The sun deck is amazing! Everyone can sit out there and enjoy the sun, ocean breeze and view of the ocean.
