The place met our 3 main wants: location, view and garage. The interior fell short of VRBO's normal amenities that we have enjoyed for the past 10-15 years. The major problem was the stair way that had no railing on the first 2 top steps and the steps were narrower than normal. No place to sit in bed rooms, no shelf in closets to store items. Dresser in 2nd bedroom unusable, falling apart. Needs better lighting over mirror in master bedroom. Dangerous area in dining area with bar area overhang. No safety strips on bath tub shower to avoid falls. Any problems we encountered(wifi) were readily addressed which was appreciated. No directions for coffee maker and couldn't get a good cup without going out to buy one (hard on a 1 month stay). We have always enjoyed the little things that hosts do to make our stay feel like we are welcome. Missed that this time. Would be nice to know that the A unit parking is unable to open hatch on door to load and unload because of lowered ceiling on that side. The view allowed us to enjoy our stay.

Great location, one major con

Overall super location. Space was serviceable. We liked that extra towels, blankets, and beach toys were offered. The king bed was very comfortable, but our daughter mentioned her bunk bed (top) was shaky and creaked. While the location was wonderful, we would not consider staying here again. The primary reason is because this is a shared property-we were in the downstairs unit (first floor and part of second). When guests were upstairs, we could hear everything. Every pounding footstep and most conversations were audible. Also, our last night there, guests checked in after midnight and we could hear them in the garage unloading, even though we slept with a sound machine on. Some rugs may help with the noise, but overall it was not pleasant. If you are planning to rent the entire house, it may work for you. But it is too loud with anyone else staying at the property.

Family Summer Rental

A perfect location if you have younger kids/toddlers that want to enjoy the bay and the grass. The house was very clean and had all of the amenities necessary for a great summer rental for my family. It is also walking distance to a playground and able to see the fireworks at night.

Nice property on the harbor

95% of this property every enjoyable. San Diego sun, mission harbor all combine for a beautiful location. Slightly busy location due to the 19 beach chair & the boat launch. Property was comfortable for my young group of 6, but would not work for teens or older children. The bunk beds are super tall & my 8 year old could barely crawl in the top bunk. The bedroom dressers are terrible. Bathrooms & showers are nice. Deck got very hot in the late morning, but was very nice in the evening. The full kitchen was very nice & we used it extensively. Garage was tight but very nice. Construction is ongoing for the neighboring homes, overall this wasn’t a distraction for us, but it existed. SeaWorld fireworks every night were very visible & were actually more enjoyable than being in the park itself.

Serenity on the Bay

Great spot if you want a view of the water but don't want the busy traffic on the ocean side. We stayed on Side A. Fun people watching, quiet at night, friendly neighbors. Master bedroom's bed was very comfortable. The second bedroom has a full bunkbed bottom/top. Realistically 1 person per bed and you better be little for the top bunk, makes noise with every move. Bathrooms nice, kitchen nice. Loved the patio and the beach!

The place was clean. Unfortunately, I wasn't notified that construction would be happening right next door so both Friday and Saturday hammering started at 7:45 am. Other than that, I would recommend it to a family.

Good Location Average Stay

Good location right on the bay and a short walk from the beach. Average amenities. Tandem parking. Be aware that the walls are extremely thin and you can hear the upstairs neighbors clearly.

Perfect family stay location.

Property was clean and well accommodated. It is perfectly located for people with youngsters to mind. Steps away from the beach and ocean waves, but located on the peaceful and shallow bay side so that the youngsters can play in the grass and in the beach area while adults watch from the patio or sit near them. Just perfect.

So fun!

Stayed here over 4th of July weekend. House/condo was great and exactly as pictured. There is a second unit up above, but we didn't hear the other group at all except for a few footsteps here and there. Location is amazing, especially for families! The kids could run around in the grass and play in the sand while we watched from the patio. And the calm, not overcrowded ocean beach is just a few minutes walk away. There are restaurants, coffee, and ice cream super close by. We were planning to book this house again next 4th, but it's already booked!

Great Trip!

This location is ideal. Super clean and walkable to the beach and literally on the boardwalk of the bay. The grass out front was great for throwing a ball with the kids. It is super safe and everything is within walking distance from activity rentals to food and coffee shops. We will definitely stay here again if available.

Some good, some not so good

The good: Great location, fun things all around, master bed very comfy. Not so good: Smaller than pictures appear, only a couch for 4 adults to sit on in evening? had to bring in the 2 outdoor chairs. Also couch was very stained and the outdoor cushions desperately need replacing. With bigger TV's becoming so inexpensive, seems odd to have such a small one to watch. Kitchen minimally stocked with dishes, but they did have ANTS?? A DEEP clean and some upgrades on basics like furniture and TV's and this spot could go from a solid 3 to a great 5.

Location, location, location

I am a San Diego resident and have always wanted to stay at a property on Mission Bay in the Mission Beach area. This place was exactly what I was looking for. Located right on the Bay with direct bay access we were able to kayak and paddleboard people watch and just relax. It was also a very short two block walk to the beach. The inside was also very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and will likely be back.

Great Beach House
