Not worth the money

NO Power for 2 days Which meant no lights, outlets or refrigerator that we had just stalked all of our food inSuper dirty and they need to do some maintenance. Dirty linens and pillows. Kitchen is stocked with old gross pots and pans. Kitchen drawers were dirty and falling apartThey gave us one roll of paper towels for six days Pictures online look great but house looks nothing like that in person. Parking is a very narrow garage. I couldn’t even get my car into it because it’s so close to another houseGreat location on the beach though I paid over 2000 a night and it is definitely not worth itSurfside did refund 1500..

Good location, home was okay

First the positives. The location of this house is great, you can't beat ocean front views and the walkability to restaurants and activities. The hot tub was a nice touch. They have beach chairs and sand toys in the garage. The kitchen is relatively well stocked (could use a serving bowl or two). However, the house feels a bit run down. For the amount we paid, I expected more. The floors felt gritty/sandy from the day we got there - it is a beach house but on day one just after it was cleaned I shouldn't feel sand on the floor. I tried using the vacuum but it didn't do much to pick up the sand. The sheets in the primary bedroom would not stay on the bed. The elastic was shot on the mattress pad and the fitted sheet, so every time we moved in the bed they would pop off. The washing machine was rusty. The house has no rugs or drapes to absorb sound so it is like an echo chamber - every movement is amplified. A little TLC would go a long way and this place could be really nice but at almost 2K per night I expected better.

Location makes it!!

We had 8 adults, not all coupled up so that made it cozy yet comfortable with one taking the couch. Highlights: parking, beach chairs & boogie boards, Hot Tub!!! 2.5 bathrooms and the location was awesome.

Nice house, bad service

We had a fun time here but the unfortunate part was when we arrived the cleaning crew wasn’t done cleaning until about an hour after check in and when trying to contact management they didn’t get back to me until the next day and didn’t care about that and only cared about my car being parked in the wrong spot because I had to since their cleaning people were parked in the garage,then when trying to check out the cleaning crew was there extra early forcing themselves in and didn’t know how to speak any English and wouldn’t wait for us to take our stuff out and was blocking the way the whole time leading to an extra late check out because of the cleaners again, so it was a nice house but just hope you don’t have to deal with the cleaners or the management.

Family graduation getaway

We love the neighborhood and the house. The house location was excellent because it was close to everything. We love the house and plenty of rooms for everyone. Each floor had a different views and right on the boardwalk. We will be back.

What a view!

We loved our stay at Mission Beach - central to so many activities and literally steps to the boardwalk and beach. People were friendly and we enjoyed local restaurants and shops -- truly considering a second stay! Property is dog friendly, beach is open to dogs before 9am and after 4pm.

Great Location

The location of the property is amazing!!! The house does have a few problems that from reading previous reviews have not been fixed suck as the fireplace in the living is not functioning, the Wi-Fi is definitely not functioning well, and the garage is a tight fit for most vehicles ( this is something I expected for a beach front property). They do have some decent beach toys in the garage but the spa on the deck is amazing to enjoys the beautiful sunsets in SD.

No Wi-Fi

The location of the house was great… But not one TV would work because the Wi-Fi is so poor… Everything was based on streaming TVs in the bedrooms, nor in the living room did not work… With that being said, my family had to eat out to watch playoff baseball games, and watch football so bottom line is we spent a lot more money eating out then we would’ve like to enjoy the house. Definitely would not rent this home again.

We stayed here for nearly a week over spring break and needed to be someplace where there were things to do for the teens yet I need some R&R with little to do. The ocean is a stone’s throw from the three story home with great decks to hear the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. We loved everything about it. The home was clean and the kitchen stocked well enough to make breakfasts and lunches while we could walk to an array of dinner options right from the location. Don’t expect fancy- because the home is not a modern new build but it’s clean and well furnished and the location makes it priceless if you are craving sea air every second you’re in the home. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the upper deck master bedroom- very peaceful and serene. While the boardwalk directly in front had some unsavory characters at various times, it made for excellent people watching and the house is secured very well and we never felt safety was compromised. We’d stay here again and again. It’s just a perfect set up for a crew with teens and the location is second to none.

After wedding stress release

Thank you for letting us stay at this wonderful home! It was so nice to be able to just relax and not worry about fixing food, etc. We just each chilled out in our own way. Some sitting on the beach, some running or walking on the boardwalk, some reading on the decks. We got coffee from the shops down near the pier and bagels and pizza. We had time to see other family who lived down in San Diego, but mostly we just enjoyed the sunsets each night. On Halloween we were treated to the nighttime bike parade and it was so much fun to watch on the boardwalk from our decks! We needed this restful vacation.

Overview of my stay

The location was amazing with a beautiful view of the beach. The kitchen appliances suck as pots, pans, forks, plates were old. The house wasn’t cleaned well, some of the countertop and cabinets were sticky. Loved the jacuzzi out front patio.

Little Piece of Heaven

We absolutely loved staying here! They had everything we needed, and it was clean and comfortable. You can’t beat the view or location, and the hot tub was such a nice touch. The property management company was easy to work with and contact if we needed help. Super easy check-in and access, and an all-around easy and relaxing vacation! I only wish we had booked for longer!

Spectacular, Highly Recommend

This was our 1st experience with a vacay rental, Loved it! I had doubts about not having air conditioning but thanks to weather and location it was not a factor. Noteworthy: There are ceiling fans in every bedroom, family room and several free standing fans in each of the closets! The property is extremely spacious throughout! I personally appreciated having 3 levels. It was nice and quiet in the bedrooms on the 1st level. (Noteworthy there is no TV in the bedroom on 1st level with king bed) My in laws (79, 80) had the bedroom on the 3rd level. They admitted the queen bed was a little snug for them but were extremely pleased with the balcony, view of ocean, tv, and spacious on suite! They normally leave the TV on as they fall asleep at night and due to hearing loss often keep the volume high. I appreciated that the sound was confined to the 3rd level. I LOVED having the kitchen, dining, grill and family room on the second level. We were able to take in the incredible view, enjoy the ocean breeze with windows wide open while feeling completely secure. The garage is extremely deep and could have accommodated a Toyota pathfinder as well as a GMC Yukon XL had we moved the storage bin from the garage. We opted to park the Toyota in the space provided outside the kids bedroom window just east of the patio. You do need spotters if driving larger vehicles due to the narrow parameters, but ample parking none the less! The laundry room is quite large and I liked having a dryer for our swimsuits and towels each day! I was pleasantly surprised by the resources provided. 3 rolls of tp for each bathroom, 2 rolls of paper towels in kitchen (We did use one of our own paper towel rolls by the 3rd day), hand soap and dish washing soap, small bars of soap for showers and miniature shampoos. There were ample towels in bathrooms as well as beach towels. (They are older, thinner towels but worked just fine). And the aforementioned storage bin was overflowing with beach chairs (5), boogie boards (2 with straps, 1 without), as well as many miscellaneous sand toys, football, beach ball and floaties. The appliances in the kitchen are all updated and were extremely clean! The kitchen is on the smaller side and does not have a direct view of the ocean, but these were non factors for us. The atmosphere around this property was very family friendly. The boardwalk and beach are literally your front yard for this rental and that alone was worth every penny!

Family Trip 2021

I remain in search of the ideal property. I thought this one was a little far north at tower 21 but that was okay. I'm getting too old to be running up and down so many stairs all day. I also want a decent deck for all of us to hang out. This property does not have that.. It is also very "cozy" and I don't particularly want "cozy" and would like to pay more for spacious but that's hard to find it seems. Maybe next summer... Still, we had a great time and the weather was amazing.
