Pros: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. The property is right on the beach. You wake up from one of the bedrooms, look through the window, the beach is right there. You can hear the waves nicely from inside the property.Cons: 1) None of the bathrooms are accessible. The first floor bedroom leaks a lot through the shower door hinges, making a mess outside the shower. The bathroom associated with the first bedroom in the second floor has a see-through glass. The bathroom attached with the second bedroom also leaks but not as much.2) The first floor AC and the wifi router did not work when we checked in. When we tried to reach out to the host, there was no immediate response. We fixed the issue ourselves.3) When we messaged the host about the bathroom leaks, the standard response came through VRBO, saying they will let their maintenance crew know. The maintenance crew never came to fix anything during our entire stay at this property.

This place has a wonderful location and living space. You are right on Mission Beach and the condo has a lot of space and high end appliances. The problem are the furniture has many spots, the roof leaks and the bed makes a lot of noise. It is sad that an awesome condo rental has been let go and lbecome rundown.

Location of the house was amazing! So nice to be able to just hop the wall and be on the sand. And the sunset view could not have been better! The house had everything we needed, including lots of clothing storage space in the bedrooms. Kitchen had what we needed as well but could use some upgrades, such as the cookie sheets and smaller spoons (they were all large sized). Overall, this house was amazing and we'd stay here again for sure.

Disappointed

Unfortunately when we arrived the condo was not sanitary and we could not stay. 1st floor - metal handrail broken was risk for injury, walls very scuffed and dirty, sliding door tinting needs replacement. 2nd floor - aside from just needing a good deep cleaning, the master bed pillows were all stained yellow, mattress was filthy with debris that had been there a while, and what looked like a large blood stain - completely disgusting. Also, there was some kind of bug in the bed. Looked like an adult bed bug (surf style rep said it was a termite). Either was, no thank you. As I was reaching out to management my wife found other reviews with similar results. So it looks like this was not a one time issue with Surfstyle rentals. To be fair, we were told we would receive a refund in a few days and they did follow through with their promise. That said we will not be using their properties in the future.

Location great, the rest isn’t

The location is excellent. Right on the beach. Check in and out was easy. The place was filthy! Sofa was soiled. Bathrooms were horrible. The walls doors haven’t been clean in who knows how long. Ceiling fan and TV did not work at all in main bedroom. Ants all over the kitchen counters and in main bedroom. I emailed and was only told “sorry for the inconvenience.” Never offered to come to property to address issues. Worst Vrbo experience by far to date.

Great location! Perfect view, right on the beach!

This is a wonderful house right on the boardwalk. Perfect view of the ocean and sunsets. Convenient carport parking space.The listing states that it sleeps 7 but the second bedroom is very tight and not meant for three adults. It was missing one of the beds listed in the description. We did have to ask for an air mattress to use in the kitchen area. They brought this promptly. The washer was not working during our stay but they offered to pay for any laundry we needed done. Overall an excellent vacation stay but our three big kids did not all fit in second bedroom.

Nice property in a Great Location

Overall a nice property in a great location, although the second bedroom bunkbeds don't function for adults. The headroom from the lower to upper bunk is very tight the upper bunk has no railing which is a concern for smaller children.

The Beach life!

We vacation in San Diego every year. This was our first time staying on Mission Bay. The unit's size, amenities and layout was great. Because the unit is directly on the beach, the unit shows what the salt air can do to metal, inside and out. However, the unit was clean and fresh. Loved all the windows, views, beach toys, chairs, towels etc. We will return next year.

Location and check in process was great. Cleanliness of property was questionable. Long black hairs found in bedding. Plumbing issue with toilet running every 5 to 10 minutes. Went to use the washing machine the day before we left and it was inoperable leaving us to bag up wet, sandy, clothes to bring back home. Rental company didn’t offer anything other than laundry reimbursement. Feel that all appliances should be checked prior to new guests to make sure they are in as-advertised working order.

Can’t beat this location!

Short trip for an adult and two teen children. Location was perfect! We loved being able to walk right out onto the beach. We watched beautiful sunsets and watched people stroll along the boardwalk. Having air-conditioning and heat made sure we were all comfortable. House was fully equipped and we made food while watching and listening to the ocean. Short drive to Torrey Pines hikes, La Jolla and the Zoo. We will be back!

We had the best time! The home was perfect and the views were absolutely stunning!! The description online matched the home. Close to shops, restaurants, and store. We went to Sea World which took us about 5 minutes to get there. We went Sea Lion Cave which was close as well. We will be back soon!

Our stay at this particular property was awful. Other than the great view and location, we found the property, upon arrival, to be absolutely filthy.! There was what seemed to be grease and handprints all over the kitchen cabinets. This seemed to be the theme as we toured the home upon our initial arrival. We immediately noticed an odor around the sitting area (couch) which smelled of vomit. The upstairs master bath had a draining issue, which rendered the bathtub unusable after the first use. There were too many cleanliness issues to list here. We were notified the day of arrival that the air conditioner was not working, and a technician could not be provided at that time. So, in other words, management waited till our arrival to tell us the AC wasn't working and then said they were not going to have it fixed during our stay. We notified management. They stated their apologies and said they would reduce the charges to reflect our inconvenience. We did not receive a follow up call and they did not follow through with their statement. The largest complaint we have with this property is it was infested with the Covid virus. Both my wife and I developed symptoms on our last night there. Consequently, we both got extremely ill and required medical attention. We have all medical documentation to substantiate this statement. We have booked with your company numerous times in the past. Never have we walked into accommodations in such basic need of attention. MAKE THIS RIGHT!!!

Great location except AC/ HVAC unit wasn’t working the entire time we were there. The last two nights got pretty hot and though we kept the windows open the noisy boardwalk made us wake up a lot. Management said they were aware the first day and were working on it but no fix.

It was our families first time staying at a beach house and definitely not the last. This house game my family the opportunity to create a life time of memories. The home was clean and accommodating.
