Great beach home, convenient, spacious, beautiful views.

We enjoyed our stay here. We’ve been coming to the outer banks for decades and this was the first time we did VRBO because it was kind of last minute- the owner was very communicative. The house was clean, the pool area is very nice with some shade as well, a short walk over the dune to the beach was very nice. Watching sunrise from top balcony was also a plus. Kitchen is stocked well and the house is very spacious. We will keep this house in mind for future visits!

To the Beach and Back is a beautiful and well maintained property that provided everything we needed for a much needed family vacation. We enjoyed the ocean view from the deck outside the living room as well as from the loft. Being able to bring our dogs to join us was another plus. We would love to stay here again if the opportunity ever arises!

Family vacation

The cottage was very clean and in an excellent location. Very well kept up too. We had a wonderful stay It would have been perfect except for two issues. We found out the washing machine was broken the beginning of the stay. We reached out to management several times and they were not able to fix it. Also the grill was cheap, rusty and barely working.

Comfortable stay

Me and my family had a great time. The house and the surroundings are clean, and also the pool. I love that we can use the jacuzzi, that was a plus and everyone enjoyed it. The beach was a short but a tough walk because of the hill but it was just fine. There was a small grocery store and an ice cream shop nearby so that was really good. The community was really quiet during the night time we didn’t have any issues. The only issue that we had was that the room on the main floor where the kitchen was, wasn’t made. There wasn’t any sheets on the bed and comforter. We were thinking that the person making the bed just forgot about it, because everything else was made/ all the bedrooms, it was just that room. So that was the only issue that we had, and that was where my mom and dad stayed. So they were kinda upset. We cannot find any extra linens and we tried to contact the house keeping, unfortunately they said that they cannot provide any. Overall, we love the house and we recommend this house. It’s really beautiful and comfortable.

This is a true get away!

Our experience was very nice. Didn't realize how very secluded this location was. Everything is and hour or more away. So if you have car trouble you are screwed with towing. Most importantly its very beautiful. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing. The beach at sunset is mesmerizing. I love this place.

Very quite community - it was an okay time

They mean it when they say that check in is at 4pm!! so if you are the type that likes to head down early and hope you get in this is not the company to rent from. ( this was not an issue for us but just wanted to let ppl know that) one thing that the pictures do not really show you is that there is 3 leaves to this house and that means LOTS and LOTS of stairs. I just had surgery so this was hard for me. The kitchen was DISGUSTING like to the point that who ever "cleaned" it should ashamed of themselves. ( i am by no means a clean freak either) the house ( other than the kitchen) was clean. The inside of the house is very outdated ( other than the kitchen) The location was wrong for our group but this isn't a bad place to stay. Not really sure if i would rent this house or from KEES Vacations again.

NEVER USE KEES VACATIONS

Just got back from a week with some friends and my husband and I feel compelled to do what ever I can to make sure other beach loving people do not have the same horrible experience. We arrived last Saturday, at our check in time of 4:00. A few of our friends needed to work while there. We tried but could not connect with WIFI. My husband called the number given to us for Kees Vacations. He left a message to call back ASAP because we had other issues to discuss with them. No one called back!The condition of the property was disgustingly dirty. The kitchen counters were sticky and had not been cleaned. The rugs were matted down with sand and had not been vaccumed throughout the entire house. The inside windows were covered with hand prints. The bathrooms were horrible. The liners were moldy and had blood on one of them. My friend cut her foot from broken glass on the outside deck of her room. we found By the next morning (Sunday) I called Kees Vactions again and waited on hold for over a half hour only to be put to voice mail. I left a meassage and then another message later that day. Still no call back. Now, we are finding cockroaches and more filth as we explore. The outside trash was never emptied, flies everywhere and it smelled. We were cooking breakfast and grease dripped from the oven hood into our food. (DISGUSTING) By Tuesday we were so angry and upset, we drove to the closest KEES Vactions location (again, we should be at the beach having fun) to complain. We met John who was in charge of operations and he heard our story of horrors. He made a copy/ faxed the list of our complaints. He said a women 'Patrice 'would be calling us within the hour. No one call called back! We got back to the property and 2 maintence guys were there and unclogged one of the tubs and made a few minor repairs. We were told that housekeeping had just left. All they did was replace the liners in the showers. By the way, we all showered in the outdoor shower....cleaner than the indoor showers.The bath mats were not replaced as well. Patrice finally called and I explained what had been done (not much), she said housekeeping would return.They never did!! By Thursday, I was able to reach Patrice and told her we wanted a refund! She said she would get back to us by Friday with an answer. By late afternoon on Friday I called her. She said they had a meeting and offered a small refund. She said the property gave us shelter and safety. So does a tent on the beach!!!

Great Stay, Clean, Nice Updates

Perfect location for us. Kitchen had everything we needed for a thanksgiving cooking experience except a potato peeler! Really nice to be able to walk over the dune and be on a quiet beach!

Beach and back review

During stay found old donut next to washer, encounter three water bugs, ceiling fans had thick coating of dirt on the paddle blades. Cleaning was not as I feel it should have been. Nice house great location.

Perfect beach house!

Stayed here for five days with friends in August 2020. This house was perfect! Very spacious, clean, plenty of linens, gorgeous kitchen. Beach access was great, and we loved the pool in the afternoons. Walking distance to the ice cream store, too. This was a wonderful stay!
