A beautiful vacation 'house' on the water in Rotterdam center

"Rooms on Water" is a charming, modern accommodation on a historic ship in the centre of Rotterdam, featuring 6 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom.

It is a 40-metre-long ship, the hold of which was converted in 2017 into a beautiful group accommodation for up to (more or less) 12 people.

All 6 bedrooms have a private bathroom with a shower and underfloor heating. These cosy bedrooms feature air conditioning (hot/cold), an opening porthole (round window), underfloor heating and a wardrobe. There are 2 single beds, which we can convert into double beds on request.

The living room is very atmospheric and cosy. With a large glass wall alongside the internal entrance, two large ‘koekoeken’ (wooden skylights with glass), several sturdy oak tables and an old wooden workbench, the atmosphere can be described as warm and industrial. You can make yourself completely at home here.
There is underfloor heating throughout the vessel, and the living room also features a pellet stove and air conditioning.

On the deck above the living room is the roof terrace, offering a stunning view over Leuvehaven. Here you can relax and enjoy the evening and the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
The 26 solar panels are also located on the deck above the hold.

Rotterdam: everything within easy reach.
A stay in Rotterdam means shopping, architecture, a ride on the water taxi, enjoying the lively Markthal or the traditional market (on Tuesdays or Saturdays), strolling along the Oude Haven with its historic ships, shopping in the Hoogstraat, Koopgoot or Meent, visiting a museum or enjoying a bite to eat and a drink in the Witte de Withstraat. All these hotspots are within a 5–10-minute walk of "Rooms on Water".

Nearby, you can hire bikes and explore the city, or go for a long walk along the Maas or through the city’s lesser-known areas.

But from Rotterdam, you can also reach the beach in 45 minutes. There’s even a metro service to the beach at Hoek van Holland. By metro or train, you can visit the beautiful historic cities of The Hague (40 mins), Delft (less than 30 mins), Leiden (around 40 mins), Haarlem (just over an hour), Amsterdam (just over 50 mins) or Utrecht (50 mins), and by water bus to Kinderdijk or Dordrecht.

During your stay on board "Rooms on Water", you can enjoy a really fun and varied holiday, discover Rotterdam and explore part of the Netherlands.

I, Moniek, the owner, live on board in the former skipper’s quarters, whilst the guests stay in the former ship’s hold, each with their own entrance. Normally, we hardly ever, if at all, cross paths outside.

Please note: If you are organising a stag or hen party, Rooms on Water is generally not suitable. Bookings can only be made subject to strict conditions. Please contact the owner before booking to discuss your enquiry.

Please note: the rental price excludes the accommodation tax (6.5%). The security deposit is €500. These amounts must be paid in cash on board or in advance by bank transfer to Rooms on Water.

Please note: The boat is not suitable for children under 9 years of age, partly because we are surrounded by water.

Safety: The gate and the front door are both fitted with a combination lock; you will be given the code on arrival. There is a fire alarm system with smoke and fire detectors in all rooms, a fire blanket in the kitchen and a first-aid kit by the entrance, and there are several fire extinguishers on board.
