Boathouse

Cayuga Lake is beautiful. For the house, we noticed the same things other reviewers commented on such as no comfortable loveseat or couch, so no place to relax, no window treatments on 1st floor. No AC on first floor with sun beating in sliding door & window. House can use a good power washing with lots of bugs & spider webs. No TV on first floor, only in bedroom. Dock is very nice, but walk to it is very steep gravel. Staircase is not comfortable with first step, no handrail at top portion and trying to go to the bathroom in the night.

Boat House

Has great sunrise, trails to walk, and a boat launch close by. Close to wineries & breweries and also great water falls. Just wish it had blinds or curtains on the windows. Great for couples looking for great views and close to wineries and breweries and also fishing

Great stay right on the water

Had a very relaxing stay right on the water with the waves crashing and cool breeze. House was easy to get to and within close proximity to all the wineries and breweries that we wanted. House was clean and as outlined in the listing and even caught a couple perch fishing from the dock. Had a great time!

Relaxing stay

We needed to stay in the area for an unexpected baseball tournament and wished to stay far from the busy hotel scene. The boathouse was a perfect choice. Morning coffee on the pier was exactly what we needed. Quiet and simple accommodations.

The Boat House

Overall the house is excellent, it is secluded, quiet and has a nice pier. You are right on the water. Inside there are a few minor issues but I'm sure the management will address them. The main issue is the listing says it is air conditioned with it 'sort of is'. This is a renovated barn and with the A/C on the ceiling on the first floor it does NOT get to the lofted sleeping area. There should be at least a fan up there to pull the cooler air up. You can open the windows but then you let the cool air out of downstairs. Other than that the shower is awesome, the kitchen is well equipped and the property is easily accessible. The property maintenance manager is awesome and he provided a lot of good 'area' advice.

Quiet Lakeside Getaway

Perfect for a parents-only retreat! The sound of the waves was so soothing, and the views are amazing. The location is a bit far from hiking, most wineries, and “town”, but if that is what you’re after, then this is the perfect spot! Highly recommend going mid-fall!

Anniversary Getaway

We don’t know how it’s possible to accurately describe how much we loved this property. This rental was exactly what my husband and I were looking for as we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. As soon as we drove down the long driveway and pulled up to the Boat House, I was already in love with the place. The simplicity and cleanliness of the interior was definitely a bonus as well. A renters starter kit (towels, soaps, etc) and a complimentary finger lakes wine was also waiting for us on the counter when we entered. For couples who love nature, the outdoors, the simplicity of life, the sound of the lake waves throughout the night, hiking, wine, wonderful food, and being able to begin/end each day at this very private location..it is just a dream rental…a little slice of heaven! The 4 hour drive from our home was extremely worth it. This was a magical weekend and we hope to rent here again in the future! Thank you to the owners and the FLPP management for sharing this beautiful property with us! Tara & Sean Coughlin

We had a great experience. Loved the area . Being right there on the water was great. All went pretty good except miscommunication with the grounds keeper and agency ... They had 2 days of our vacation taking trees down and unloading stone . Which was a small disappointment. We had to stay away especially on tree cutting day. Otherwise we loved staying there

Very Private Boathouse

My husband and I went to the Boathouse for our anniversary. It was such a beautiful location on Cayuga Lake and we were pleasantly surprised at the privacy the property offered. The adjacent property is a state boat ramp, but we found there was only light traffic there and it was fun to watch the boats go in and out. The sunrises over the lake were absolutely stunning and every night we drifted off to sleep listening to the sound of the waves on the shore. We did notice that there weren't any chairs in the house that looked comfortable. That was my only reservation about the place and we brought folding camping rocking chairs which solved the problem! We would definitely stay here again!
