The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! The rooms were very clean and up to date. There was also a wonderful diner right in front of the property! I would absolutely stay again!

The Rocky Mount Motel was an unexpected surprise. It was chic and thoughtfully renovated with a big city aesthetic without a big city price. I will definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.

Run down and people live in this motel with weekly rates. Guy was changing his car oil and doing engine work 2 doors down with a screaming kid running around all evening into the night. Never stay here

He’s fine very clean love the way the rooms were redone. Grateful for the refrigerator in the microwave. Love the Desk and the ability to set up my computer and have a place to work. The best were very comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious. Really appreciated the quietness. I really enjoy being able to park right in front of my room. That’s a really nice comfort. The gentleman at the Desk was very kind. They kept the parking lot clean and the leaves blown away. They even had chairs outside our door for us to sit on. Very, very nice and very reasonable.

When you arrive at the motel, your first impression is what was I thinking. The outside is not an indicator of the cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are very nice inside and i'm a very picky traveler. Beds were very nice. Actually, the whole experience inside was wonderful. Nice little cafe next door to get food. I would spend the night there again.

For me, this has always been an outstanding motel, which was surprising due to its outside appearance. I wish all their rooms were one bed only, however, because the 2 beds make the rooms crowded. This visit was disappointing, as I found out people are being allowed long-term stays, which has resulted in broken down cars in the parking lots, people outside on the porch hanging out all day, and children in the area, facts which were once not the case and part of its excellence. The employees are good people and hard workers. I hope that the place can return to a short term motel for adults only, as it carries a nice staycation hidden gem appeal when it does.

The room was as shown in the photos. Clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The Motel though was decrepit on the outside. No one in reception. they had to make a photocopy of my driver's license to let me in. NO water glass or cup in the room. Expedia totally misled on this booking.

The parking was a bit difficult as there were three or four rooms bunched together on a corner. Also the parking lot is in bad shape. From the outside it is all rather decrepit looking and I was almost hesitant to go into the office. But inside the office all was nice and the man on duty was very pleasant and helpful. The the room seemed to be recently refurbished and it was very clean. Bottom sheets are not "fitted" and they slipped and slid on the plastic lining between the sheet and mattress, but again, it was all very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. No trash can in the bathroom--that would have been helpful. The lighting could have been better. Overall, though, it was all quite adequate and I would stay there again.

Due road conditions we arrived very late, almost 11pm. There was a confusion with our booking and availability but the gentleman working the counter was gracious and was able to help us get it sorted out quickly. This basic motel was exactly what we needed. A comfortable bed, a hot shower and an easy in and easy out. The room had a mini fridge and microwave which we took advantage of. It was obvious the room had been recently remodeled and everything world as expected. Bathroom and shower were very clean. AC worked well an kept the room very comfortable. Nice newer TV in the room as well. There is a small diner the adjacent parking lot which we would have been happy to stop at if time allowed. It look well attended.

Smoke alarm was disconnected, no heating option (just a/c). Wiring in room sketchy (plug overloads), no ice available, switch by door operates fridge and lamp so need to remember to leave on, Safe not working.

The room was recently renovated, and it was very clean but obviously incomplete. There was unfinished drywall with no paint on the wall behind the TV. There was no place to hang up jackets or no luggage shelf and only one towel bar in the bathroom. The attendant was fine at check-in but totally absent otherwise. We had to wake him up to get fresh bath towels and a new trash bag. There was no breakfast or coffee. I would not stay here again.

This place was unexpectedly awesome for me. Nothing fancy from the outside; but just what I needed on the inside. It was very well taken care of; and the people who run it were very pleasant to deal with. If you plan to have pizza and lots of celebratory food, take a large garbage bag. When you are in your room, put the lock on. Bring your own Do Not Disturb sign if you want. Otherwise, I was left alone; and I had everything I needed. I loved the stay.

I usually stay here for personal or business trips by myself and book the single bed unit. On a prior visit, a neighbor had to switch from one single bed unit to another for a problem. On this visit, no single bed unit was available due to a problem. I was given the two bed unit, which is more expensive; however I did not enjoy it as much as my prior visits with a single bed unit. The rooms are too small for the two bed units; so my stay was a little less comfortable than expected. Overall, however, I still consider it a top motel and excellent place to stay in this area. Next time, I was promised my single bed unit would be good to go. :)
