Love Boat

So much fun!! Excellent host! Very informative. Loved the privacy and being on the water. The bed was super comfortable and the fireplace (electric) kept us warm and cozy. It was such a unique thing to do and we will be back!

Horrible customer service

I reserved a houseboat. When I arrived I was presented with a Cabin Cruiser. It was not accessible for my dog. They would not provide different accommodations or refund my money. Extremely dissatisfied. I will never use Hotels.com again or VRBO since you have partnered with them. So disappointed in your lack of customer service. I ended up having to sleep in my car that night during a storm after arguing for 3 hours with customer service. When you are not provided what was advertised that is called bait and switch. I have put this on various social media outlets and many people have also expressed similar situations and thanked me for sharing. You won’t care, but you have lost business.

We liked the coziness of the boat, the views of the river, the surrounding areas were beautiful. The only negative thing we could say was that due to the ran/wind the boat creaked and it made it hard to sleep for one of our nights.

Staying on a boat was definitly different from staying in the same old boring hotel. We fished, woke up to beautiful views of the James River and Captain Ron is amazing! We loved hearing his stories and enjoyed him sharing them with us. It was just a relaxing, peaceful getaway from our busy lives in the city! Cant wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our stay on a real house boat. Very clean place. The owner is very friendly. The fishing was awesome. My wife and I caught about six nice sized Catfish!

Unique and wonderful experience

A very relaxing and beautiful stay. Ron was very sweet and accommodating. The boat was perfect for a getaway from crazy city life. The marina is rustic and especially beautiful at night. We booked this for an event downtown and was easy to get to and from as well. Perfect setting on the river and for anyone who’s looking to getaway from all the city madness this is perfect especially if you like fishing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway in the Richmond area.

Not quite as listed

Although it was a unique experience aboard a boat I think we expected a bit more comfort and at least some sort of breakfast. It's listed as a stocked fridge but other than a jar of mayonnaise it was very empty. We also expected at least warm water not a cold shower. I do understand that it is a boat but portable ac units were annoying. A roof top ac unit would work much better. And a roll of paper towels would add a nice touch. Capt Ron is a nice guy and proud of his boat and I'm sure over time it will be much better.

Great experience on the James River

The property is an entire boat, with kitchen and bathroom. Very nicely renovated. Great location between Richmond and Williamsburg. Very friendly reception by operator, who provided accurate and helpful tips. We were sorry that we could stay only one night, we would have loved to stay longer. Near presumed site of Pocahontas' village and near Civil War fortifications.

We absolutely loved our stay aboard the GiaMaria! Captain Ron was so welcoming and helpful! He has done an incredible job making his boat a cozy and unique place to stay. We were so impressed and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks again Captain Ron!

Captain Ron really came through with this labor of love . It's so adorable and cozy you feel right at home immediately upon boarding. Amazing sunsets and sunrises over the Historical James River leave you wondering why you didn't think of this sooner

Peaceful Night on the Water

Captain Ron met us at the boat and enthralled us with his, and his family's, history on the water. The interior has everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful night's sleep. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sun go down after a great meal at Conch Republic (the Captain's recommendation for dinner). We slept very well and awoke refreshed for a busy day exploring Richmond. There is no onsite breakfast, but we weren't expecting any. :)

Great place to stay if your headed to Richmond

Staying on Capt Ron's boat was a great experience. Has everything you need, full kitchen, full bath, air conditioning and a very comfy bed. Ron met us at the boat when we arrived and showed us how everything worked. I would recommend this place to anyone.
