The house is beautiful, clean, comfortable & as described. Unfortunately, I had bad experiences with (important) communication with the owners.
1) On the day I booked (5/21/24) I rec’d a text from my bank saying the exp date was outdated on my cc. I immediately contacted the owners (email & phone) and was told that the charge WAS rejected. This seemed off bc 1) it was so fast (same day) and 2) VRBO hadn’t sent any rejection info. I was just trying to be proactive in case an issue came up.
I waited a few days; the payment WAS paid by my cc and VRBO never stated any issues but the owners still said it was rejected and that I should work with VRBO to fix it.
I was at a loss so finally sent them screenshots of the payments processed through VRBO and my cc. The owner quickly replied that everything was fine and provided a screenshot of them receiving payment… on 5/21/24!
2) When we got in the house I msg’d the owners re: minor issues. They never acknowledged the msg. The next I heard from them was with checkout info and asking for a 5 star review. lol
The small issues were nbd but the misinfo abt the payment is still upsetting. I didn’t even get a “Sorry for the misunderstanding” after being told MULTIPLE times that they didn’t get paid.
They never tried to double charge and didn’t seem dishonest. I just don’t understand why it went on for so long and, really, why it was an issue at all.
The (very nice) housekeeper arrived promptly at 11!
