Family week in Bucerias

We had a wonderful week at the house with our two adult daughters and their boyfriends. Every bedroom has its own bathroom and there is lots of room to be together. We loved being right infront of the beach and pool. I recommend this house!

Wonderful home away from home

The house is beautiful and feels like a home. The bedrooms are specious and each has its own bathroom. Everything you could need was provided and there was a very handy binder with instructions for everything. The house is located in a nice area with many restaurants a short walk away. The pool was great and never crowded and the beach is right out the back gate. Close enough to everything to be convenient, but we still had the privacy and security of a small gated community. We had a wonderful time!

This is a very poorly maintained property. No hot showers in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. Shower floor in one upstairs bathroom is hard rock which can cut your feet. All toilets had flushing issues and we had to plunge them constantly. Had to call property manager twice on air conditioning. No dishwasher soap or washing machine soap. We had to request soap for the bathrooms. Only one roll of paper towels for 10 days. Only 3 beach towels for a unit of this size. Beach chairs were in poor condition and no beach umbrella for the beach. Screen door to back door off tracks. Lock to back door constantly stuck. Stained blanket in master bedroom. The property is very poorly cleaned and it showed. The owner told me she is selling the property and the property manager Jorge asked me if I would mind if they showed the house to a possible buyer during my stay. The unit looked dated and worn out, not "Mexican Charm". All these issues were discussed with the property manager and owner. I also met a guest at an adjacent house in this complex who had stayed there and he too said he did not like this unit and would not stay there again. I would never go back here and the only reason it gets two stars is because it is in a perfect location. The outdoor grounds are very nice, but this unit is really dated and incredibly overpriced. The owner had very limited photos of the inside of the house on the listing. This is property has with a no cancellation policy which now makes sense. AVOID THIS LISTING!!

Beautiful location, perfect home to share with family and friends!

Beginning with our inquiry, the owners, Tom and Carol, were quick to reply to all questions and helpful in making suggestions. Upon arriving we were met by Filipe, the house manager, who took us through the house, explaining how everything worked and ensuring we had his contact info if we had any problems or questions. He checked on us regularly and had suggestions and connections to help us create experiences we would never have found on our own. The house was charming and comfortable with everything we needed including a washer and dryer; the pool kept sparkling clean but without a strong chlorine odor; the beach easily accessible from the pool area and beautiful to view with morning coffee or afternoon cocktails from the upstairs balcony. We were close to many of our favorite restaurants and shops, and a short walk to Chedraui for groceries not available at the small neighborhood market. Due to the Corona virus our family wasn’t able to join us and we had to cut our stay short, but we plan to go back next year and make those family memories! Thank you Tom and Carol!

Perfect Holiday

The house is fully equipped for any of your needs for either a couple or a family. Morning coffee on the downstairs patio, overlooking the pool. is a perfect way to start your day. It is only a short walk to the village along the beach and there are numerous restaurants all within walking distance from the house. Don't miss the Bucerias sunset from the upstairs patio. We will be back.

What a wonderful stay!

We spent a month at the Casa de Suenos and fell in love. It is an amazing property - perfect location at the south end of town, right on the beach, convenient to everything in Bucerias and taxis only a few blocks away for day trips. The kitchen is fully equipped - blender, coffee pot, toaster, plenty of pots and pans, storage containers, stove top and oven worked great; full size fridge. There is a nice collection of spices and staples. Lots of extras: beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, books, TV, strong WiFi. The pictures are all accurate. The upstairs balcony was great for dolphin and whale-watching! Felipe came by almost every day to check and see if we needed anything. The shared outdoor area was kept immaculate, pool cleaned daily. Carol was very prompt in answering any questions via email. All 3 bedrooms were very comfortable - ceiling fans plus A/C (that we didn't need in the winter). We had no problems at all and are planning to return for another month!

Great location, great outdoor space

The location and outdoor space can't be beat. It's on the beach with a tienda and restaurants nearby. The layout of the unit was wonderful - 2 suites upstairs (one with very large outdoor space) and one downstairs. The downside to the unit was that the interior was cluttered, outdated, and could use a deep cleaning. With an HGTV type makeover this villa will be one of the best you could find.

Wonderful stay!

We spent a wonderful week at Casa de Suenos with our family, including our eight-month-old first grandchild. We especially enjoyed the setting on the beach, proximity to the pool, and easy walks to the downtown area and restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped and patio worked well for leisurely breakfasts. The upstairs deck off the master bedroom was incredible for a quiet reading area before the rest of the family was awake. Our son and his girlfriend were engaged on the beach at sunset the first night we were there and it was a lovely place to celebrate. Carol was very accommodating in arranging both our arrival and departure times to meet the needs of differing airline schedules and Felipe checked in with us each day with his beautiful smile to see if we needed anything.

Beautiful Location and Lovely Accomodations!

Thank you, Carol - We had a wonderful retreat at Casa de Suenos! Loved the beach location with easy walk to dining and village. The house was very clean and comfortable - nicely equipped inside and out to meet our needs (even had hand-weights so I didn't miss my exercises and the high-speed wifi was appreciated!). Generous sleeping accommodations for our family of 5, but could fit six and would also be nice for three couples. The outdoor seating on both levels and beach chairs gave us lots of places to enjoy coffee, reading, and resting. Enjoyed friendly encounter with Iguana's on the patio. Great communication and prompt support from both the owner and property manager-Felipe. Definitely coming back!

Wonderful week, and far too short...

Our group of six (my husband and I and our 4 grown children) had a great time at the house. There was a bit of a mix-up upon arrival - our plane was on time, but 2 flights arrived at the same time, so we were late getting to the house, and there was no-one to greet us as I neglected to leave my cell number for the owner/manager. I called the property manager, Felipe, and he arrived at the house within a half an hour to let us in. The property is gorgeous. They take meticulous care of the grounds and pool. The photos don't do it justice. The ocean is just beyond the property's low gated wall, and the sound of crashing waves and birdsong is something I will never forget. The home is fairly new, and is in good condition. Our only issue was with the living room seating (and this wasn't a deal breaker). The living room area is quite small and it fit 4 comfortably, but not six. Beds were comfortable. It was nice to have separate A/C for each room, so it could be switched off when it wasn't necessary. The kitchen was well stocked. More water would have been nice, though. The stove was an interesting experience (gas, which we were not used too), but there were instructions (which we did use). The water pressure for the showers was okay. All-in-all, a good rental. The location was very good. Unfortunately, we visited Bucerias during the very low season, so there were many shops and restaurants closed, and it was too hot to walk and explore during the day. I can imagine that it would be an ideal location during the shoulder or high season when Bucerias is bustling with activity. We knew what we were in for, so we weren't surprised, but I thought that would be worth mentioning. We did walk down the beach a couple of times to Karen's for margaritas and fish tacos. Yum. There is a sport's bar a few blocks away, which gave our kids a place to escape to when they got tired of us old folks. :) I can't complete this review without mentioning the property manager, Felipe. He was always there with a big smile if we had a request, no matter how small. He wears a lot of hats - property manager, tour operator, concierge. He suggested and booked (at a great rate) a great tour for us (Offroad Adventure with Vallarta Adventures). He arranged for a cab for our group on several occasions when we were unsuccessful. He made sure we knew what cab rates were. I'm not sure how many times I said "ask Felipe". So fun - didn't want to leave!

Perfect family holiday

My parents, sister, 2 children and I spent a week at this wonderful home. It had pretty much everything we needed and was very comfortable and safe. The only thing missing in the kitchen was a kettle, but we made do with a pot on the stove. It was great to have bottled water delivered right to the door every other day! The property manager was very friendly and helpful. One of the shower heads wasn't working well, so he changed it within a half hour of us mentioning it to him. The beds were comfortable and it was very nice to have a bathroom for each room. The upstairs balcony gave us amazing views of the ocean and beach…a perfect place for morning coffee:-) The security guard was also very friendly and helpful (quickly jumping up to help carry our groceries in from the taxi). The pool and yard was well maintained and a perfect place to relax at anytime of the day. The pool is shared, but we rarely saw anyone else use it. The location was perfect…close to everything, but quiet and private too. We didn't want to leave…

All one can dream of

The name of the house says it all: Casa de Sueno. All you might need or want is right there: views, beach, warm weather, nice restaurants, amenities, warm ocean water, nearby activities, sightseeing, everything you see in the pictures and more. My wife and I spent a week in October 2012 and it was so good that we decided to repeat the experience this October: the second time around was even better. We love the fact that the house is fully equipped with anything one might need including beach chairs! The kitchen is perfectly equipped, the wireless internet is very fast, the small air conditioners in each room work perfectly, washer and dryer are a godsend. A guest book has absolutely all the information you need to live in the house and to enjoy the surroundings. The house is in a gated community shared by a few other home owners: it is very clean, well maintained and a security guard walks by every night. The main entrance is on a nice quiet street lined with a few restaurants and bars. There is a property manager, Felipe, who works nearby and is extremely helpful and responsive: you can just send him an email with any questions or issues and he will be at the doorstep shortly and will take care of any issues while you are out enjoying your vacation. We rented a car from the local car rental company Gecko and we certainly recommend it. We cannot speak of them highly enough: the owners are americans (or at least they speak perfect english) and are very helpful also as tourist guides! They provide a very valuable (a must in our opinion) VIP service in which they pick you up from the airport and drop you back off when you return the car. The location of the house is just perfect: Bucerias is a small town away from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta, yet it has all the facilities needed by the average tourist. Within a 10-minute drive you can reach Vallarta Adventures where you can join one of the many tours they offer; we certainly recommend the two we did: Las Caletas and Marietas Islands. We also enjoyed driving around and ‘discovering’ local villages, beaches, restaurants, and stores. The selection of restaurants in Bucerias is top-notch, most of them are within walking distance and they are all mentioned in the well stocked cache of tourist information in the living room. We’ll certainly would love to come back and we recommend it to anyone else. Vibeke and Enrico

Excellent place to wind down!

My 2 children, my parents & I spent 2 weeks at this beautiful Casa which is a 10 min walk from Bucerias center and had an excellent stay! 3 spacious bedrooms all with air conditioning and private bathrooms, air conditioning on the main level, great kitchen, fantastic patios overlooking the pool and beach... couldn't ask for more! The house manager was very friendly and helpful, checked in on us daily and also booked our tours for us such as zip lining and dolphin excursions. Close to may great restaurants, grocery shopping at Mega and the old town charm of town. Very safe and clean! Loved it and plan to return! I definitely recommend.

Christmas in Mexico!

This is the second time we were going to spend Christmas & New Year in Bucerias. We stayed in one of the duplexes the first time and this time we wanted the house. It was so wonderful, our family had such a good time! There was plenty of room, we had 6 adults and 1 six-month old baby. The house was spotless when we arrived. The bedrooms are extra large with built-in cupboards and the kitchen had absolutely EVERYTHING we needed. It seemed like there was 20 of everything. The deck off the master bedroom is divine, we had coffee every morning while watching the beach come alive. The property manager, Felipe, is so very helpful. The fridge had conked out when we arrived in the evening, it was fixed the next day. He came by every day to make sure we were doing all right. The only suggestion we have is maybe put some more comfortable chairs on the main patio as there were only 4 loungers by the pool. Carol is very easy to deal with and answered all our questions in good time, and we really appreciated the "welcome" bottle of wine and card. If you are thinking of going to Bucerias and want to stay in a great house, this is it! The location cannot be beat, we walked everywhere. Discovered a couple of great new restaurants just down the street. Two weeks went by so quickly and we cannot wait to come back and do it again!! Thank you Carol!

Great rental in great location

We have just returned from Bucerias and our stay at Casa de Suenos. This was our 4th time in the area and this was the nicest house we have ever rented. It is a quick trip from the airport and in a great location. Walking distance to everything. The house is well equipped with what ever you may need. All bedrooms are a good size with own private bathrooms. There is no maid service but we prefer it that way. The pool area is beautiful and grounds are very well maintained. a few steps form the pool is the beautiful beach. Miles of sand for walking, relaxing or watching the beautiful sunsets. Lots a great restaurants and bars close by along with all your shopping needs. Carol was very pleasant to arrange rental with and was always willing to answers any questions we had. Would not hesitate to recommend this rental and would return ourselves. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday with one of the best locations you can find you will not be disappointed.
