"Lovely room, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast and great location "

"Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again."

"Location is perfect for the beach and walking distance to restaurants. Parking is horendous. The lift didn't work when we visited, which was not ideal for 4 people with health and mobility issues, we were on the 2nd floor. The staires are quite rickety and winding. There wasn't air conditioning, but they did provide a fan. Our toilet seat was broken, we did report it, but was told it was a bank holiday weekend so nothing could be done. "Great location directly across the road from the beach and close to areas of interest (Seven Sisters, Lewes, Battle) We enjoyed our spacious clean room with high ceilings and doors opening to the balcony to let in the sea breeze / fresh air. Friendly staff. Pleasant stay!"

"The room was quite bad, severely stained carpet and yellow all over the washroom floor, an old dirty drawn on office chair that looked like someone dragged it in off the street. It’s a shame because the hotel looks like it could have been really nice if maintained better. The plus sides were the staff were very nice and the location right by the beachfront."

"Dirty, tired and not fit for purpose. ‘Deluxe family room’ windows without locks and open when arrived - huge falls risk. One broken window taped up. Dirty walls, dirty shower and bathroom, toe nail clippings on bedroom floor. Towels on every bed but 2 with stains. Floors uneven and creak. No chain on door. Glass unsecured on top of bedside tables. No WiFi no luxury. Hallways tired and broken and uneven. Steps to hotel and outside was a give away - tired, unloved and covered in bird poo. Very...

"The hotel was clean and comfortable. On arrival, I was made to feel welcome and the hotel policies explained in a friendly manner including the WiFi password. The room was cleaned during my stay and there were complimentary amenities left in reception for guests outside of normal hours . This was a nice touch to be able to get extra milk for coffee late at night. Lovely friendly staff ,and great security . The location of the property is excellent. I would return again ."
