Not worth the money!

I rented the 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom Penthouse condo and was shocked by the issues we had during our stay. When we checked in, the in-room safe didn't work and no one could fix it until the next day. And the list goes on - telephone to call the front desk didn't work, garbage disposal didn't work, washing machine didn't rinse or spin my clothes so I had to finish them in the sink. When I put them in the dryer, parts of the drying vent broke so I had to air dry the clothes overnight and they still were damp when I had to pack! The elevator broke and no one at the front desk/concierge answered because it was a holiday??? Pictures were missing off the walls, doors/cabinets in disrepair and both the kitchen and bathrooms floors had long back hairs on them - gross! Already have an email into the property for some type of refund - totally unacceptable!

Great location next door to Ritz Carlton at 1/4 the price. We had the Penthouse with two good sized rooms, living area and kitchen. Easily walkable to shopping and lots of dining options along with one of the best beaches in the world. Water activities right in front of the property.

Fantastic location beautiful property

Bldg 2 - Villa 402 - 1 bedroom Close to many restaurants and shopping. The beach and access was fabulous. We just needed a 1 bedroom but they left the 2nd bedroom open for us. Very spacious and clean. There was a half bath, plus the master bath with dual sinks, tub and large shower (the 2nd bedroom had an ensuite bath). Small, stackable washer/dryer which, was so handy to have. Full, well stocked kitchen. Coffee maker was a drip coffee maker (for those of you needing to know if you need k-cups, nespresso pods or just ground coffee). Fridge had in-door water/ice maker which was great!! Hair dryer, ladies… it was meh. Typical of a hotel. It did the job but took a while. If you are particular, then you might want to bring your own. Plenty of outlets in bedroom, baths and living space. Large balcony, two complaints – first, no loungers, although it did have a small couch and a larger chair with foot stool; second, it wasn’t ‘covered’ – it had a pergola style roof which afforded some shade but if it rained then you couldn’t sit out there, which we LOVE to do. Elevator broke down the 3rd day we were there so that was a bummer as you had to navigate stairs loaded with beach gear.

Most beautiful view of Grace Bay

We’ve been staying at VR for years and you really can’t beat the location. It’s close to everything and the beach and resort is gorgeous. This particular unit was a penthouse, it was really nice but needs a serious remodel. It has a very dated look. The WiFi is spotty at best and does not reach the beach or the pool, there were several times where the the TV at night (Netflix etc) stopped working due to the WiFi. The elevator broke 3 times while we were there as well. After spending the day on the beach, the last thing I wanted to do was walk up 4 flights of steps. However, the view from the balcony makes up for the condo’s shortcomings. It is by far the best view of all the VR rooms we’ve stayed in. All in all, it’s a great place to stay, just not a luxurious condo.

Breathtaking View!

My husband and I stayed with our friends, another couple, and this condo was the perfect fit! The condo was spacious, had all the amenities we needed, and the beachfront patio was fantastic for morning coffee and evening drinks before dinner. We loved that the property had everything of a small resort but felt much more private and peaceful. The staff at Villa Renaissance were all kind and helpful when needed and we appreciated the daily housekeeping which is not typical of most rental/condo stays. The location was also perfect. We did not rent a car and could walk to anything and everything we needed - restaurants, the grocery store, shopping, spa, etc. The only negatives we noticed were some small signs of age/wear and tear. A few places where tile needed to be replaced (in the unit and in the pool), some dated furniture (beds). That said, it did not bother us or have an affect on our enjoyment and stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

Paradise Found

We loved everything about our stay at Villa Renaissance. From the moment we arrived everyone was so friendly and nice. The view was amazing, the condo beautiful and comfortable, the surrounding property is beautiful, the pool is wonderful, and you can walk to everything. We really want to come back.

Perfect Penthouse View

My wife and father in law had an amazing stay. Morning coffee from the balcony was the best way I can imagine to start the day. Loved the beach chairs on the beach which was not crowded so again had unobstructed views all day. The unit was very spacious and the three of us felt like we were living in luxury in this penthouse condo.

Villa Renaissance

Stayed here for a week in July. Was absolutely wonderful! Excellent location to shops, restaurants, and the beach is amazing. Second time staying here. Definitely recommended. Room was immaculate and has all amenities needed. Deck is amazing with the best sunset views.

Great views, needs a few updates

First and foremost, this is a Great location with fantastic views of Grace Bay. The Villa is somewhat dated and could use some updates. More importantly, the beds, while comfortable, are quite noisy. There is a metal frame under the beds and they were quite noisy any time we moved, which also made it harder to get a good night sleep. Additionally, the living room is lit up in the middle of the night from lights from the roof. There were no window treatments to block this light, which made the sleeper sofa difficult to use. If you’re a heavy sleeper and light / noise is not an issue for you, the Villa may not be an issue for you. It was for us. These are easy fixes though and it still has what we came for - some of the best views and location on Grace Bay.

We had a fantastic stay. The view from the kitchen/family/dining area never gets old. The property had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool, beach chairs, towels, and food service there. The location is so convenient. We did not have a car but walked to restaurants and stores. As another person mentioned, the unit is a bit more dated than I anticipated. However, it was clean and functional. If I were being picky, I would suggest updating the outdoor furniture to make it more comfortable while enjoying the gorgeous surroundings. I would stay again!

100% recommend!

Penthouse 402 was perfect for our first trip to Turks and Caicos. We were two couples do each wanted our own room with king size bed and bathroom. It’s hard to find that in a two bedroom condo. This has that and both bedrooms were great. The balcony looks directly over Grace Bay beach and it was so beautiful having coffee or drinks outside daily. Not having been to Grace Bay before we really had no sense of if would be a good location. But it was perfect. We walked everywhere or rode bikes provided. Literally grocery store and restaurants all close. We only took taxi once to Da Conch Shack, which I highly recommend on Wednesday! The property was so well managed by Sandeep and basically run kinda like a hotel. But very small only 32 units so no racing down to fight for chairs etc. They have a little bar/restaurant and bring you food and drinks on beach etc. We would definitely stay here again! My only complaint was internet and cell service was basically never working in bedrooms but it worked out in other areas fine. It maybe just needed an adjustment.

Great Location but Not Everything Worked

We've stayed at Villa Renaissance several times previously and always enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed our stay this time except for a number of lights and appliances (at least six) in our unit that weren't working or malfunctioned, which created some frustration and incovenience for us. The unit's manager, Drexwell, was very responsive to our requests for service. He got an electrician several times to fix non functional and malfunctioning lights. Unfortunately, all the electrical problems couldn't fixed during our stay. Drexwell also quickly got a refrigeration technician to fix the water/ice dispenser on the relatively new refrigerator, which had never been fully hooked up. He also had a technician from the telephone company come out to fix a non functioning TV/cable set up. One issue we never raised was the shower control in the second bedroom that was plumbed backwards, i.e., when you rotated the control the water started hot and went to cold on further rotation. So, despite our frustrations, we were very appreciative on Drexwell's efforts. Other than the repair issues, we were generally pleased with our unit. It does show some signs of wear and tear, however. Overall, Villa Renaissance is a great place to stay. It's kept quite clean, and the staff is very friendly, professional and accommodating. The location on the beach in Grace Bay is great for walking to dining and shopping.

Fantastic stay at Villa Renaissance

It was absolutely beautiful, just like the pictures. Beach is stunning and Villa Renaissance is a great spot to enjoy the best of Grace Bay. Lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and nightlife within steps of the property. And it sits atop a lovely stretch of the beach. The staff and service were top notch, everyone took great care of us. The front desk staff, bartenders, beach staff and Sandeep the manager- all went above and beyond to make our trip special. Daily housekeeping was a treat. They will help with everything, including stocking your unit with groceries before you arrive. The unit was beautiful, the view was a highlight. It was special to wake up to the gorgeous turquoise waters. Sunsets were also breathtaking from the terrace. One issue with the top floor unit is that the terrace (balcony) is not shaded so gets hot in the day. And at night it's right under the bright security spotlight on the roof so it's a little too bright to sit out on the terrace and enjoy a nightcap. Units on the lower floors were covered and had ceiling fans. It wasn't really an issue, we were able to enjoy the evening island breezes at the beach. The beach was so pretty it was hard to leave. We had a fabulous vacation and can't wait to return.
