Country Retreat

My wife and I stayed at this home for four days in May, 2025. A heat wave during the week, but the house was still very comfortable.A lot more house than the two of us needed, but the neighborhood “quietness” was well worth it. At first it seemed a little remote, but we shortly realized it was just a quick 15 minutes to town. A restaurant, cafe and small market are adjacent to the neighborhood for easy and quick access.The grounds are phenomenal with the odors of flowers and the chirping of birds to sooth the soul - no traffic noise, airplanes, or noisy neighbors. I didn’t want to leave the pool area but we had to get out and see the sights. One thing - mosquitos do come out at night so be prepared. We were not so we had to stock up at the store for those late nights on the patio.The house is very well equipped with games, TV’s, books, a pool table, fooseball table and even ping-pong - none of which we used but nice to have them available, There was a beach umbrella and beach bag we utilized for our time at the beach and lots of other practical items we didn’t use but you would if you brought kids along.All in all, the owner is a great communicator and is happy to help with recommendations so I would take advantage if you are new to the area. I would recommend this house as a great “base of operations” for exploring the Western Algarve.

Wonderful authentic villa in great location.

Really nice authentic villa in a quiet neighbourhood with excellent proximity to beaches, mountains and attractions. Simon also couldn’t have been cooler… really nice guy! I highly recommend for families or groups looking for a great place to hang out or as a central launching pad to The Algarve. However the VRBO app and platform leaves a lot to be desired per usual. Cheers Simon. Boo VRBO!!

A perfect pad

This house is glorious and has everything. Initially thought the level of amenities couldn't possibly be included in one home, but they can. A swimming pool, table football, pool table and table tennis. The TV room is comfy, there are two dining tables and the showers/bathrooms are clean and warm. You'll need a car for the location but equally you don't really need to leave if you don't want to. If you do leave, there are lots of great little day trips (and the local winery is very cute too). Would strongly recommend

Impressive Villa

A really good and well-maintained villa. The check-in and communication with Simon went perfectly; he's super friendly. The villa is very well-equipped, and it was thoroughly cleaned and maintained. Everything is as presented in the photos. The location, 'Monte Canelas', is also super calm and quiet, yet close enough to Portimão.

Amazing private villa with a great pool

We stayed at this villa for 5 nights in August 2023 and everyone had a great time. Our teenagers loved the pool table and wifi of course. The villa is very well maintained, modern, spacious, and has a great pool. We also appreciated the privacy during our stay. Thank you Simon.

Fabulous Villa

I have stayed in a fair few villas over the years and this is one of the best ones ! Set in a large plot, plenty of parking up the driveway. Gardens surrounding the villa are mature and offer privacy. I stayed here with my parents and my two grown up kids, so there was plenty of room with the four bedrooms for everyone to have their own space. Fully air conditioned which was needed in the 35 degree heat we had during our stay! Refurbished new Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Comfortable beds and sofas. I would second the previous reviewer that the front bedrooms do need some darker curtains or blinds to keep out the sun. About a 15 min drive to Alvor which was our favourite as much less rowdy than Portimao! Also sampled the great local restaurants. Simon the owner and Lena the property manager were brilliant to attend to the couple of issues that we had during our stay. We have already booked again for next year!

Family Fun

Our family of 2 adults and 3 teens enjoyed our stay at Casa Lucile. The kids loved the pool. There was enough room to spread out. Everything we needed was here. Easy to get to the beach towns. My only advice to the owners would be to invest in blinds or shades. The sun comes up early! Would stay here again.

The villa is absolutely gorgeous. It’s got everything you can need from games to kitchen equipment. Loads of space. The pool and outdoor area is fabulous for relaxing, chatting, eating lunch etc. the garden is beautiful and it’s so nice to be surrounded by lovely plants. Booking was smooth, the instructions are great and the place was spotlessly clean. There were several houses under construction around the area, a couple of which did create a lot of noise during the day. This was really unfortunate because we did book this place to relax by a pool, but it’s not something the owner can do anything about. We went out every afternoon but the mornings were somewhat disrupted! Once those closer houses are complete, it would be a tranquil haven, I’m sure.
