For the room we had, there was a very bright security light from the neighbouring property up the hill, and the light shone onto the thin curtains of our room, and when the tree branches moved inbetween it created quite a light show in our room. "Very friendly check in by Kevin, the proprietor. We had a ground floor room with countryside views which were lovely. It was so peaceful! The room was comfortable, well furnished and equipped to a good standard. Breakfast cooked by Kevin was excellent with generous, well cooked portions. "Staff at the hotel were warm and friendly. They couldn’t have done more to make us and our 2 dogs feel welcome. Breakfast was great. Food very fresh and plenty of choices. The hotel location is perfect and within easy reach of everything that Lynmouth and Lynton has to offer. We will definitely be returning. "

"Standard British pub experience. Worryingly poor on cleanliness and state of room (e.g. broken shelf in bathroom). Good mateess. Host unable to find room at first. Host did not respond to message on Expedia reserving table and nothing reserved. Dinner basic pub fayre. Breakfast forced to choose between toast or cereal or full English. Good range of beer but unable to advise on local gin. Pub well used by locals and good atmosphere. Lovely situation in centre of village. Quiet."
