This house has a smoke problem. I notified the host when I arrived that the house smelled of cigarette smoke - he directed me to use the ozone machine that was located in the hallway closet. This tells me he knows there is a smoke problem even though the house is described as no smoking. Ozone is not a safe gas, and ozone generators are not supposed to be used in an occupied property. I did use the machine and it temporarily helped the smell, but anytime the house was closed up for any amount of time the smell came back. I went away overnight and when I came back the smell was just as strong as when I first arrived, even though I had left the ozone machine on the max timer when I left. I booked another place to stay since I do not want to be breathing smoke particles. I asked the host to refund my unused nights and he initially agreed, but then he came to the house unannounced and demanded to "verify" the problem. I had had the sliders open and the ceiling fans running all day and so the smell was not very apparent at that time, and the host stated that he was not, after all, going to refund my unused nights. I left anyway.If you don't mind breathing cigarette contaminated air, this is an OK place - quite a lot shabbier than the pictures with chipped paint and scratched furniture, but OK. Cleanliness not great - I picked up 4-5 old dog turds in the yard when I first arrived, which the cleaners should have taken care of. In short, you can do better than this place.
