Desert stay

Great property in carefree. Excellent backyard with pool and spa…bbq etc. Well appointed kitchen and great beds. Proximity to airport and road is no issue , very quiet and private. Recommended for sure.

Carefree Stay in Luxury

The home is beautifully designed, clean, cozy and offered extra amenities like throw blankets in every room, beach towels, etc. The kitchen is well appointed and made meal prepping a breeze. We traveled with our teens and 2yr old and we all found something to enjoy. The backyard oasis is amazing. During our stay, we went horseback riding, rented ATVs, mountain bikes and made a trip to the Grand Canyon. Marie is a phenomenal host and ensured we were well taken care of. We were sad to leave and look forward to a return trip!

Fabulous

We are regular VRBO renters. This home was perfect for what we were looking for. There were plenty of places to sit and relax outside when not taking a dip in the pool. The kitchen is fantastic plus gas and charcoal BBQs (our fave). More equipped than any other VRBO rental kitchen we have stayed in and perfect because we like to cook. There are some fun bars and restaurants nearby and were not disappointed in any we visited. We did 2 hikes and 3 mountain bike rides, all different and all gorgeous within a 15-20 min drive. We rented mountain bikes in town. Our hosts Marie and Ivar made us feel very welcome. Not ready to leave this beautiful part of the country but will be back.

Impeccable

How lucky we were to call this beautiful property home for a week. Stunning architecture, decorating and property. Easily the cleanest and most organized home we've ever stayed in. Absolutely everything we needed and wanted. Spent so much time in pool, hot tub and back yard. Great location for golf, hiking and restaurants. Communication, check-in and out seemless and easy. Fingers crossed that we will come back to Marie's lovely home.

Spectacular

If I give this property a 6 I would. My wife and I have stayed at numerous high end VRBO properties and this at the top. Gorgeous interior, comfortable with all the amenities. Saltwater pool and spa outstanding. Chef kitchen, and so much more. You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful host and great home

Marie is a fabulous host. She was available 24/7 for questions and went out of her way to make sure our stay was wonderful. Unfortunately while we were in Carefree, the weather was cold and rainy. Marie’s home was the perfect place to enjoy when we couldn’t be outside. It felt like a 5 star hotel. We were sad to not be able to experience the gorgeous back yard and hope to return again in better weather to take advantage of it.

The Best Vacation Rental in Arizona Hands Down

I have rented multiple vacation properties all around the country and none have been as advertised. This beautiful property and home was not only what we were expecting but more. From the simple but elegant architecture to the most inviting landscape in the area. Close to everything you would ever need, yet perfectly placed outside of the big city. Quiet, relaxing and a piece of your own tranquil paradise! Marie was one of the best hosts and very promptly replied when we had any questions about how things worked. If you are looking to enjoy yourself and discover arizona without worry, this is the place! Can't wait for the next trip! Paradise in the Desert

Our family of 5 absolutely loved our stay in Cave Creek at Velvet Shadows. As seasoned VRBOers we can honestly say that this house was a true gem. The backyard was incredible and offered everything that you could ask for in a vacation rental. Beautiful scenery, well maintained heated pool and spa, ample seating with an outdoor fireplace and a ping-pong table as well. We spent more time at the rental house than on any of our previous vacations just to enjoy the back yard setting. The interior of this home is also immaculate. It's well equipped with everything to make us comfortable and felt right at home. As mentioned in other reviews the owners do have some personal belongings at the house which helped remind us that we were guests in this special home and we treated the home with total respect as you could tell how much the owners loved it. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Family Getaway

We loved our stay at Velvet Shadows. The house is immaculate, spacious and well-stocked. Private yard with beautiful landscaping, fireplace, ample seating, patio heaters, ping pong table, and resort-style pool and spa. Host was very responsive and helpful. Location was ideal for day trips north to Sedona and trips into Scottsdale in the evenings (although you may never want to leave the yard). Plenty of shops, restaurants and hiking trails within 5 miles of the home. We will definitely be booking this home again!

Surprised!

We’re not told on the website that we would be sharing closet space with the owner. All cupboards and drawers in main bedroom filled with owners clothes ( some dirty laundry). Were instructed by owner’s partner to use closet in hallway. Closet in 2nd bedroom also filled, we had to clear out baby equipment from the closet to the third bedroom. In order to unpack for a 3 week stay Toilet commodes designed for kids. Kitchen cabinets filled with misc China, bowls etc. No room for food storage.

The property was as advertised. There was a giant sitting room and kitchen where we spent most of our time. The kitchen was well stocked. The dirty bbq was disappointing. We didn’t use it. Due to the low temperatures we did not use the pool or spa but they were beautiful.

Wonderful zen house on edge of desert

House lovely and light with a great flow. Outdoor areas very relaxing and a great pool. Loved all the white as it was so restful. Carefree area lovely if you want nice chilled times or fun to be had in cave creek bars! Marie was a delight to deal with. Have rented all over the world for 10 years and this house is in my top 3.

Wonderful Property!

Our stay for one week at this beautiful home was fantastic. Beautiful backyard setting with pool and hot tub and we took advantage of the fireplace. Also had fun with the ping pong table when we had rain and was still able to enjoy the outside. The home has everything you need plus more. Our group of 6 all agreed that the beds were the most comfortable we ever slept on! Close to great restaurants and enjoyable day at The Boulders Spa down the road. Location was perfect. We also took advantage of the great lemons on the trees in the yard :) The home layout is great for groups and all ensuite bedrooms private and very comfortable. We would love to return in the future! Thank you Marie for sharing your beautiful home!
