Communication with the owner was challenging. He referred us to his concierge who was initially helpful but ultimately abrasive and confrontational.
The property location is fantastic. Place de Vosges is a wonderful, family friendly square that is constantly filled with locals. The property is close to the metro and train station (to Versailles). We walked to all the major attractions and local neighborhoods but we like to walk.
The property itself was an utter disappointment. Initially, ownership was nice enough to let us check in early but the property had not been cleaned. After cleaning, the left very few supplies (soap, towels) for the four of us and I had to ask for additional supplies to be brought. The concierge argued that the supplies were suffiicnt (one towel per person for the week with no washcloths, handtowels, etc).
The biggest problem, however, was the shower. We stayed seven nights and I NEVER had a hot shower. The concierge had a technician come out to try to fix the hot water, which he could not. The concierge then tried to argue that the technician had fixed the problem. On top of that, the shower smelled of mold. And there is only one shower in the property.
We chose to suffer through these inconveniences (and possible health risks) because VRBO provided no assistance and we didn't want to disrupt our vacation more than it had already been.
