My husband, our adult daughter, and her partner stayed here for a week and were very pleased with the apartment. We were welcomed by Marie, who took time to explain how all the appliances worked, and made recommendations for an app to use for navigating the metro (it was very helpful). The apartment was clean and bright. There were fresh flowers and fruit waiting for us (such a nice touch!). The beds were firm but comfortable, and there were enough towels for all of us. Having two showers, and two toilets made getting ready in the morning, or winding down at the end of long days much easier. There was amble space to spread out and relax when we returned from all the tours we took. The street that the kitchen/living room faces is busy, and there were frequent sirens sounding (both ambulance and police - I do not know if we were close to a hospital or a police detachment); however, the noise was almost completely blocked out by simply closing the windows. The bedroom windows open onto the courtyard which is very quiet. It was convenient being so close to Gard du Nord, and this is the metro station that I would recommend using, especially after sunset, as the other close metro station Bares-Rochechouart felt a bit intimidating after sunset. (I would not recommend going out alone after sunset.) The neighbourhood is busy and clean (they literally wash the sidewalks nightly), and there is a lovely fromagerie, boulangerie and two great restaurants near by.
